Chapter 21 Finally at school

Jenny spent her weekend in high spirits from trying all the rides in the amusement park, to the haunted house to winning huge stuffed toys and what not! Not forgetting to eat like the food monster that she was leaving her unplanned audience cringing.

How could someone as beautiful and heavenly endowed like her eat like there's no tomorrow?!

Her guard was down and she didn't notice the eyes that kept following her from the moment she left her apartment to the amusement park and back home. She had been like a bird that had been set free from a cage.

"Sir, she's home safe and sound." A man on the phone reported to his boss.

"Good, keep an eye on her, even while she's at school!" The voice on the other end of the phone commanded.

"Yes." Was the reply before the call was cut.

On Monday, Jenny being the heavy sleeper she was woke up on the third ring of her alarm. She had missed out on her first school days and she didn't want that to happen anymore as it would become a habit for her. She took on habits easily which was terrible!! Looking at her alarm that kept dancing and screeching at her as if in joy at her misery of leaving her beauty sleep, it was 5:50 when she was supposed to awake at 5:30. Sighing heavily, she crawled out of bed onto the carpeted floor on all fours still sleepy till she reached the bathroom. Yawning over and over again, she brushed her teeth and hit the shower, she came back after about ten minutes and went to find clothes for the day and she went for black tight jeans, a creamy crop top and a black heavy knee length coat. It was cold and it was forecasted that it'd be rainy in the day and slightly windy. She finished setting herself and it was already 6:45am. Finally, she was going to school!!

One item on her to do list was check!!

Throwing her backpack, she crossed checked her room before she dashed out to go get something to munch on, on her way to school. Collecting chocolate cookies and a vanilla milkshake, she boarded a taxi and left the school, her journey took about an hour due to the heavy traffic in the morning hours.

Standing outside the college, she breathed in deeply and braced herself for college life. As far as she remembered, she last went to school when she was 16 years old and now she was twenty one and her memory from between those years was missing. She didn't know what happened and apparently didn't want to know, she had left and was not going back. Making her way to her lecture room which she didn't have a hard time finding, she noticed about seven people already in the room, she didn't bother them and found herself a seat and checked through her notes and her finished assignment which was supposed to be submitted in today.

Lost in her own world, she didn't notice that the class had filled up with students and only snapped back to her senses when she heard tapping on her table with a rolled A4 paper. With that, she looked up and ended up looking into black eyes and a wrinkly face. He was a middle aged man by looks about 50 years old, his aura screamed of zeal and knowledge. "Spacing out on your first day of my class?!" He asked.

"I'm sorry." Jenny whispered softly. She greatly respected scholars.

"Name?" he tilted his head to the left and observed her.

"Jenny..."she murmured.

"Am pretty sure you colleagues would love to get to know you. So can you be a bit louder."

"Am Jenny." She roared her name so that everybody heard her and looked back at the professor who saw the slight flash of annoyance in her eyes. It was amusing.

'That's all?!' everybody in the lecture room wondered but didn't voice out their thoughts.

"...,.......ok, that's all for today, make sure you hand in your assignments before the end of today. Remember, this assignment is 5%..."

And like that, the first lecture had ended in only an hour and a half. Slumping in her sit, she exhaled lightly and closed her eyes. 'That was tense!!' she thought.

Just when she thought she could get time for herself, she heard a mild voice call out to her. She was too lazy to pay attention but didn't want to come out rude, hence she opened her eyes and plastered a fake smile on her face. "How may I help you?!"

"Hello, Jenny, am Cathy." she held out her hand. Her actions were stiff, it was like she was a prey before a predator. Cathy was a short girl, about 5'4 feet tall with short hairs that stopped just below her jaw line, fox like eyes, thin lips and generally a nice physique. Shaking her hand back, Jenny looked at her with inquiring eyes.

"Oh, I...a...I noticed that you weren't here during the first week so I thought I could help you with my notes. That's if you don't mind." She spoke shyly, looking at her nails as though they were a world new inventory. Her cheeks flushed red when she noticed Jenny looking at her intently.

She looked so innocent and cute that Jenny couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips only to receive a questioning gaze from Cathy. "Hah, sorry...I found your expression cute, I couldn't help myself." Jenny said with a smile, she was amused. Seeing her being carefree, Cathy smiled back and her stiff back relaxed and lightly chuckled along.

"Do you want to have a look at my notes?" Cathy feeling lighter now mustered courage and asked.

"Thanks for being thoughtful but I already accessed everything from our class group on the school website." Jenny rejected her.

"Ohhh, was Cathy's dispirited reply. She looked down and if possible, you could see her dropped ears.

"I could use a close classmate though." Jenny found it hard to reject her cute expressions.
