The others stared at Desmond, but the young man couldn't care less. "Now, because of your bad luck, many of us could lose our lives!"

Although some felt that Desmond was speaking unnecessarily, somewhere in their hearts, they couldn't deny the disappointment they had felt earlier, as Desmond's words had been true.

Uncle Bodhi's face was pale, and his brown eyes were filled with deep regret as he lowered his gaze and softly apologized, "I am sorry."

However, this didn't lessen Desmond's anger. He was even more infuriated than before, and his words became more rude. "What? Sorry? Do you know what will happen to us when we reach the wild? Who knows if we will lose our lives? Are you saying that 'sorry' is all our lives are worth? D*mn it, I feel like punching this sh*t."

The other groups were now looking at them as if they were watching a drama. Uncle Bodhi's eyes had reddened, and he was about to say something when a cool voice sounded.

"Why are you making a mountain out of this? Aren't you being unreasonable? If you're this unconfident in yourself, why did you register in the first place? I heard it wasn't compulsory to register, if I'm right."

Everyone's gaze turned to the person who had spoken. It was a young man with bluish hair and deep azure eyes. His appearance was dainty, and he looked laid back as he squinted his narrow eyes at Desmond.

Desmond scoffed, feeling unhappy that someone had interrupted him. "Who do you think you are, Little Sissy?"

The young man, Reckless, nearly puked at the address. His eyes squinted further as he leaned back. "My name is Reck," he calmly corrected and continued, "As I said earlier, we don't need cowards in our group. Your attitude is like one. If you were that omnipotent and not useless, why didn't you predict that Uncle Bodhi would choose number 1? That way, we would have sent you out instead so that you could pick the best number for us."

Desmond's face blushed at the insult, and Reckless lazily continued, "There's nothing we can do to undo what has happened. The only thing we can do now is to prepare ourselves."

It was incredibly silent before the shy Adalyn also spoke up and stuttered, "Reck was right."

Rhea also nodded, and others started murmuring in support of Reckless.

Desmond's face was as dark as coal and gloomy. He snarled scornfully at Reckless. "Let's see how long you are going to last, Sissy."

Reckless's eyes darkened at the word, but he didn't make an effort to say anything.

Tyler watched the scene lazily, but after seeing Reckless' spoke, his gaze lingered on him for a few seconds, what he was thinking best known to him before he cleared his throat to get everyone's attention and said, "The first group will go in the next two days. The departure time is 8:00 am, and the return time may vary but shouldn't be more than a day if nothing unexpected happens. You will be led by a representative of Windfall."

He picked up the book on the table and straightened his suit. "Okay, we will meet here by that time, Group 1, and I hope you will all be well-prepared by then." Then he walked away, his shoes thudding on the floor.

Everyone departed to their respective rooms.

Reckless could only look at the ceiling, unable to gain a wink of sleep as various thoughts drowned his mind.

He wasn't powerful.

The earlier talk with Rhea had made him understand many things, most importantly, his level.

If everyone was like her, with two skills or even more, what about him?

He had no skill worthy of being proud of. He was sure that his skill might be something good, but how could he be certain when he didn't know how to execute it.

Apart from that, he had grown used to using swords, after all, it is the easiest weapon that even a novice could use. But the same couldn't be said for a bow, the only weapon he have now. Not only does the strength to draw the string matter, but also the agility and accuracy it requires.

He wasn't sure he could offer this, but he was sure he could try his best. Thus, early the next day, he took permission from the ship guard and left the ship.

As Reckless walked through the woods, the bright morning sun casting a gentle glow around him, he knew that if he had told Rhea that he was coming here, she might have followed. But right now, the last thing he needed was a companion.

After being some meters away from the ship, Reckless finally stopped in the middle of the rainforest.

He looked around, then decided to climb onto a tree when something tugged at his leg and wrapped around it tightly.

He frowned, looking at the weed that had snaked around his ankle, then bent slightly to remove it. But something rope-like suddenly grabbed his waist. It was the same weed.

Something clicked inside his mind instantly.

This is definitely not a normal weed. Which normal weed would be tugging you backward?

Unbroken Dagger appeared in his hand, the only weapon he could use for cutting. He slashed the dagger forward, successfully cutting the weed at his waist into two. The weed retreated slithering, but Reckless had yet to heave a sigh of relief when it wrapped around him again, and if he wasn't careful, he would be completely bound.

He frowned as he cut several weeds before realizing what had to be done. He had to cut the source; only then would there be no more of these annoying things.

His eyes darted around, and as he easily cut the several weeds that were trying to bind him, he was finally able to locate the source.

"Is it poisonous? Would it be alright if I were to use my hand to uproot it?" He wondered.

Then he thought of something, and his eyes lit up!
