Lin Ruo had a plan to introduce Kaspars to the Beyonder Gathering under the name recommended by "Old Man" Ian. Though there was some risk, it wasn't substantial. It was quite simple for Lin Ruo to disguise himself as an ordinary person and fool Kaspars.
"The formula for Beyonder Sequence 8 potions includes around 400 pounds, and I still have 1618 pounds left. Even if there are problems with purchasing, it won't be a major issue. The material costs are almost balanced..." Lin Ruo wanted to calculate his current net worth as he needed to consider purchasing potions.
As the saying goes, a small camel is bigger than a horse. After the original owner went into hiding, the small treasury wasn't as significant as before, but it still contained some funds. In addition to the cash he had, the house he now lived in, along with two detached houses on the nearby street, were properties of the original owner. These properties included a hotel in the Western District, generating substantial monthly profits, where Roaldie Fryer also held a significant stake.
In a way, Roaldie Fryer could have lived well with the remaining assets if not for his single-minded pursuit of revenge.
"I possess Beyonder characteristics of [Sheriff], [Interrogator], and [Judge]. If I were to sell all of them, it might even surpass the original owner's total assets... Beyonders sure make money quickly. It's a fast-paced career!" Lin Ruo teased himself. Yet, he understood that his situation was something ordinary Beyonders couldn't easily replicate.
Considering that the Loen military and royal family were likely searching for clues about the "angel" who had slain Capim, Lin Ruo decided to stay low-key. He didn't plan to sell the three Beyonder characteristics until he needed money.
However, he could consider selling them to "The Arbiter" Xio at the right time. Xio was likely still Sequence 9, and it wouldn't be difficult to find her. Lin Ruo could potentially leverage Xio and Fors to pursue Justice, Audrey Hall for them to join Tarot Club.
Lin Ruo possessed complete potion formulas for Sequence 9, 8, 5, and 4 of the Spectator Pathway. Instead of keeping them, he could sell them to Audrey the Justice. Unfortunately, he lacked the auxiliary materials for the Sequence 7 and 6 potion formulas.
"Wait, I also have a complete potion formula for the Sun Path from Sequence 9 to Sequence 5..." Lin Ruo suddenly had an idea, rubbing his chin. "Little Sun is in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. I can't easily sell it, but I could sell it to Klein, who can then resell it to Little Sun... The Seer's pathway potion formula can also be sold to Klein. I have all of it."
Though he was willing to teach Klein Beyonder knowledge for free, Lin Ruo intended to exchange potion formulas with him. He felt that directly giving the formulas might overwhelm Klein and create unnecessary trouble.
"I feel like I can manipulate the Tarot Club with my own power..." Lin Ruo's smile turned subtle. "The hidden hand behind the Tarot Club... the tutor of the Fool? Well, that sounds intriguing!"
Yet, amid the jest, Lin Ruo hadn't forgotten his responsibilities. He had work to do, like using the power of truth to amplify the possibility of a Provoker potion formula appearing at the gathering he planned to attend the next day.
Night fell, and he made his way to the Braveheart Bar.
Taking into account the bar's opening hours, Lin Ruo waited patiently until evening before heading to the Braveheart Bar.
He hadn't been idle during the day. Alongside his regular studies, he visited the Beyonder friends the original owner had known. Discovering that the previous Gatherings the owner had attended wouldn't be held again, he created additional fake identities just in case.
After dealing with these matters, the evening had arrived. Lin Ruo, disguised, headed straight to the Braveheart Bar.
Passing through the imposing black wooden gate and the brawny doorman, Lin Ruo entered the bar to the sound of lively cheers, toasts, and the strong scent of malt.
Glancing around, he saw two stages in the center of the bar. One showcased a dog and mouse performance, while the other held a fighting match.
He went to the bar, ordered a drink, and inquired, "Where can I find Kaspars Kalinin?"
The bartender paused from pouring the drink and looked at Lin Ruo for a moment before saying, "Room number 3."
"Thank you!" Lin Ruo expressed gratitude and headed to the Third Card Room.
He knocked softly before entering. Inside, he saw Kaspars Kalinin, a man with a large scar on his face, playing Texas Hold'em with a group of people.
As the door opened, all eyes turned towards Lin Ruo. Unperturbed, he smiled and spoke, "I'm here to meet Kaspars Kalinin. I was introduced by an acquaintance."
Kaspars Kalinin glanced at him, discarded his cards, mumbled something, and approached Lin Ruo.
They exited the room together and found a secluded corner. Kaspars Kalinin asked, "What do you want?"
Kaspars Kalinin was a black market arms dealer. Besides introducing Beyonders to join Isengard Stanton's Beyonder Gathering, his main business involved selling weapons.
Although Lin Ruo had his own ways to acquire weapons, he decided to first buy a revolver and bullets from Kaspars Kalinin to earn his favor. He then said, "I've heard that you know some Beyonder individuals with exceptional abilities. I wish to meet them, and I'm prepared to compensate you accordingly."
Kaspars Kalinin's somewhat aloof demeanor shifted. His gaze turned sharp and cold, attempting to exert an intimidating pressure.
Most people might be swayed in such a situation, but Lin Ruo maintained his smile and even took a leisurely sip of his drink.
"I can inquire for you, but I can't guarantee they'll want to meet you." Kaspars Kalinin's experience dealing with Beyonder individuals led him to believe that provoking Lin Ruo might not be wise, even though he smiled throughout.
Kaspars Kalinin likely had Beyonder abilities too, and Lin Ruo's demeanor and confidence spoke volumes. Nonetheless, Kaspars cautioned, "Wait for me. I'll get back to you with an answer."
