Setting things up

"Hello Mr. Kinsley" I greeted politely "Hello Zoey I need to tell you, your plan is excellent how do you come up with such great idea's"

"It's our duty and I'm happy that you liked our work will continue to impress you" I said confidently. "Can you accept this small request of mine"? He requested all of a sudden.

"Yes Of course Mr. Kinsl." he interrupted me "Can we skip the formalities, I feel like I'm some 40 year person, you can just call me with my first name" He said showing his best smile. Hesitating a bit I said "As your wish Mr.... sorry Jaiden" I corrected myself. "That's way better now I will let you guys carry on with the work. See you later"

"Thanks for behaving" Carol's words grabbed my attention "I have my own ethics" I said bitterly.

'Then where is my treat 'I decide and you pay" I was puzzled and wanted to ask then I remembered that it's about the selection"babes Andrews has to accept it as well"

"Of course he will fill your pockets" I smiled at her true happiness for me .

While returning to home through car window I saw a couple with a toddler,that family looked so cute together That made me miss my own family now my Dad ,Clare, Noah, my little Evelyn and my boy Benny.

After reaching the apartment I called my Dad "Teddy what's the matter, Is there any problem, First tell me are you alright otherwise I'm gonna come there" he started his question attack "Hoo dad I'm good I just felt like calling you, everything is perfect"

"Great then did you taken your dinner" he's prepared with next round of attack "Yeah dad how about you" while heating my dine I answered him.

" I too had, when are you planning to come back Ahhh " This must be Clare's job "Dad is Clare near you, if yes then please pass the phone to her" he accompanied my wish and Clare's spoke "Zoey eat slowly"

"She already had her dinner dear" My father answered for me "Did you installed a CCTv camera or did you have a spy around me" I jokingly said swallowing the food. "There's no need for that I know your habit"

"Indeed you know me well Clare, where's Evelyn and Blynn I can't get to hear them"

"She's out with her friends and that boy is fast asleep"

"Okay" the silence is triggering my emotions after few seconds " Why don't you pay a visit to home it's already been a year and past that you shifted there"

" Clare I'm newly transferred they won't give me leave that easily I will surely come home for Christmas"

"I can understand come fast we're waiting for you "

"talk to you later I have few more work to do bye" I ended the conversation which turned awkward at the end.

"don't stress yourself take care of your health it's equally important Bye"

Christmas is a three weeks ahead 'She know that I'm just giving an excuse not to go home but never showed up to ask' With a heavy heart I went to bed .

To annoy me more rolled a week .But I decided to set things right for my friend before the Eve.I met Lucus near the football court where he regularly practice.

"Sister Zoey what a surprise I didn't expect you here" he walked toward me saying this.

"I had a work here, so thought to pay a visit" I lied simply. "You continue playing I will take you home today" I offered a ride so I can borrow some time to talk with him.

"We can leave now it's time anyways,can you wait till I change and come"

I nodded "I will wait in the car" he ran to changing room.

While waiting I recalled what Carol said when i disclosed my idea to have a talk with Lucus 'I hope he listens to you'.

Lucus was a jovial kid, the death of his parent's turned him to a introvert. Except Carol he never opens his mouth to anyone. Seeing his emotionless eyes made be feel pity on Carol, she tried her best to bring back his old self in which she succeeded to some extent.

He came back swaping to a sweatshirt. He stepped in and I started driving to Carol's home. "Lucus actually.. "I hesitated to start "Sister Zoey you don't need to think hard just go ahead" I stopped the car in side "What you're doing is not correct Lucus" my words came out I hurriedly added. "I'm not taking her side ,You knew her more than anyone know,she did made a mistake by ignoring her duty as your sister but don't you think she deserved a life for herself.Unfortunately it all messed up that fucker just ruined everything"

"It's not him but her blind trust that ruined her" Lucus words made me speechless.

He spoke with full seriousness "She trust her decision so much that when you question her choice, her ego is all set to attack you" He faced me "Even you experienced this but still you came here to talk about your friends worry. Sister Zoey I didn't expect this from you"
