Thrown Under the Bus

Liu Xiaolan looked at Mu Yuchen and tried to catch her breath, while her heart kept beating as if it was about to jump out of her body…

Just what's wrong with her little fool? It wouldn't be that he recovered his memories, otherwise why would he attack her suddenly?

She looked towards him, but it seemed that he was still in his own world.

Mu Yuchen looked pleased with himself, licking the corner of his lips. If not for the innocent look in his eyes, Liu Xiaolan would almost think that he was trying to seduce her.

"Lady tastes so good and sweet… I still want more…" Mu Yuchen said while looking at her.

Liu Xiaolan's face which was slowly regaining its usual color went straight back to red again. She looked towards Mu Yuchen bashfully and almost wanted to kick him out. Not only did her little fool steal her first kill, but now he's even teasing her?

It was only when she looked at the look of innocence on his face that Liu Xiaolan managed to control her emotions. She took a deep breath and said, "More, what more do you want! Mu Yuchen, what do you think you're doing right now?"

Mu Yuchen heard Liu Xiaolan calling him by his name and knew it was not good. Although he didn't like it, he was kind of used to being called as a little fool by her after hearing it for days from her.

But each time she calls him by his full name, he knows that she's really angry.

Thinking of this, Mu Yuchen quickly took Liu Xiaolan back into his arms and tried to soothe her emotions. "My lady, I don't want anything more, I was wrong…"

Liu Xiaolan looked at his face full of grievances and sighed. In the end, she allowed him to continue holding her and said, "Little fool, why did you kiss me?"

"Did I do something wrong? Is lady not liking the way I kissed?" He asked.

"Forget about it, just tell me why you kissed me? Who was it that taught you how to kiss?"

Mu Yuchen had a hesitant look on his face. How was he supposed to explain his behaviour today to his lady?

Shopkeeper Liu, my apologies. I can only throw you under the bus this time, I'll try to compensate it somehow to you in the future.

"When I was selling chestnuts in the city, I saw Liu Jiahao kissing a woman. When I asked him about it, he said that it's a normal way of showing affection and asked if I didn't kiss my lady…"

Seeing that he had Liu Xiaolan's full attention right now, he continued, "When I said no, he started laughing at me and said that how could a husband and wife not kiss? He said I should do it once I go back home…"

Liu Xiaolan almost wanted to rush to Shopkeeper Liu's Liujia Wood Workshop and pummel him down. Just what happened to him, that he would install such ideas into her little fool's mind?

Although Liu Xiaolan knew Shopkeeper Liu for some time now, but she still had no idea about the situation of his family. Otherwise, she wouldn't blindly believe in Mu Yuchen's lies.

After all, Liu Jiahao in truth was currently single. His wife died while giving childbirth many years ago, taking his daughter away with herself. So, how would Shopkeeper Liu ever kiss a woman in public?

These aren't modern times where showing affection is alright, if Liu Jiahao kissed a random woman, wouldn't her reputation be gone?

But Liu Xiaolan didn't knew that, so Mu Yuchen was still safe for now.

"Little fool, it's fine, you didn't do anything wrong, but you just shocked me a little…" Liu Xiaolan said slowly, and after thinking for a moment she added, "It's fine to kiss someone you like, but next time you want to do it, you need to ask for permission first, alright?"

Where would Mu Yuchen disagree with her? He quickly nodded and feigned ignorance.

Liu Xiaolan didn't want to think about what happened today anymore, so to calm down her heart she decided to change the topic. "Little fool, let's eat dinner quickly, we still need to prepare chestnuts for tomorrow..."

Some time later, once they were done with eating their dinner and cooking the chestnuts, Mu Yuchen took Liu Xiaolan to their bed and they went to sleep.

Liu Xiaolan looked at her little fool's face while they were lying together and had a slight blush on her face.

She had her eyes on Mu Yuchen's eyelashes, thinking if he was already sleeping or not. Liu Xiaolan didn't want to bother him, so she quietly whispered, "Little fool, are you asleep?"

After getting no response, Liu Xiaolan got a little bold and she traced his eyebrows with her hands, before moving it to his nose and finally to his lips...

Over the past week, she has already gotten used to the fact that the little fool would somehow get into her bed and she would wake up in his arms, but previously she treated it as just some misbehaviour of her little fool.

Because of that, at one point she even decided that there's no point in playing this stupid game anymore and just allowed her little fool to sleep in the same bed as her.

But after the kiss today, somehow thinking about sleeping with him made her heart throb. Thinking about this, Liu Xiaolan quickly shook her head and thought, "Liu Xiaolan, get the dirty thoughts out of your mind right now!"

After another moment, Liu Xiaolan quietly lied down and closed her eyes, before dozing off and sleeping, unaware of the fact that the moment her breathing turned even, Mu Yuchen opened his eyes and showed a bright smile on his face.

He took her body into his own arms, while Liu Xiaolan, as if programmed, found a comfortable spot on his chest before she continued to sleep.
