In the city

In an ordinary office worker room, a mountain of documents were stacked up like skyscrapers. A young girl was sitting behind a big desk, rapidly going through and stamping different requests.

Her black luscious hair was cut short, reaching only her neck. Her sharp eyes were darting around the documents making one feel dizzy just looking at it. Her body was well-proportioned. She was much more beautiful than an office worker, the contrast of the environment enhance her beauty even more.

Talking a quick glance at the wristwatch, the girl stopped handling the documents and stood up, heading for the black leather coat on the coatrack.

"Blackie, I'm heading out. Finish those documents for me alright?"

A small 'meow' answered her, a yellow striped cat jump up the desk, the tail took hold of the stamper. Stepping out the room, 2 maids were bowing respectfully, one holding a briefcase. She took one glance at them before taking the briefcase and walk out the room.

"Take care of Blackie when I'm out."

Soon, a car sped out the house, merging in the busy street.

Captain Gork sat absentmindedly in a small room. He has heard of this waiting room plenty before, he has even been inside once when he was young. The term 'waiting room' is just a nicer way of saying temporary jail. He didn't hate it as it was a necessary precaution, he was just thinking about the potential lost he might suffer.

He has already lost a precious escape artifact and Gork didn't want to underpays his employees. If he calculates all the cost then this trip of his was barely breaking a profit. Gork sighed softly, he was just going to have a less luxurious retirement days.

Click.

The room door opened and a young woman walks in, her white dress and dark coat complimented each other making her looks gorgeous. Gork salutes her with a military greeting.

"I greet the city administrator!"

"It's okay captain, you can call me Mei."

Her voice was smooth and sweet bringing Gork into a trance.

"Something wrong captain?"

"Ah, uh no. I was just... distracted, that's all."

Mei wave her fingers, suggesting Gork to sit down. She took out a notebook and start writing silently, not bothering to look at the old captain. Eventually, Mei broke the silence.

"I have read about your report captain. It seems like there is no residual corruption left on you?"

Gork shook his head, wanting to remain silence in front of Mei overwhelming presence. She didn't mind it and continue asking.

"This castle you see was in the medium dimension?"

Nod.

"How big was it? Can you describe in detail of what you see."

"I can only remember that it was a big castle, no other details of the encounter was left."

While he was speaking, Mei was scribbling something down her notes.

"What about your team, how are they?"

"They are fine, most have forgotten entirely about the encounter."

"It was the... ancient forest dimension, yes?"

Nod.

Mei put down her pen and brought a briefcase on the table.

"Your cooperation was greatly appreciated. This is your compensation."

Gork look down in surprise only to have met Mei eyes. He has never look at her face since she came in. He felt her piercing gaze, one that seemed to look through everything. A small playful smile remained on her face. He swallowed the words in his throat about the extra anomaly, it didn't seem necessary anymore.

"We hope you enjoy your retirement in our city."

Mei moves through the buildings on the street before stopping at a church. The afternoon glow gives the church a solemn and holy atmosphere. She quickly moved through the praying followers and arrived at the archbishop room. She open the door without hesitation. A helpless sigh was heard inside the room.

"Knock the door next time, please."

Mei paid no attention to the archbishop words and sat down the nearby chair while making herself comfortable. She look around the sparsely decorated room like a person reviewing their future house. There's only a bookcase and a set of table and chair, a dull room.

The archbishop couldn't do anything to her shameless behavior and push forward the topic, hoping to removed this rude person out of his room as fast as possible.

"So? What's the problem?"

"Is there a castle anomaly or anything related to a castle artifact in the canon?" Mei ask innocently.

The archbishop scroll through the canon in his mind. Unfortunately he couldn't find one.

"No, there isn't."

The archbishop was looking out the window, avoiding Mei gaze. She put her finger on her lips, a curious expression on her face. She asked again.

"What about the old canon."

The archbishop nonchalant attitude was replaced by a serious one.

"What happened?"

"Something appeared on the medium dimension. Something that shouldn't be there."

"And that thing is a castle?"

"Mhm!"

The archbishop voice was getting more and more solemn, one could notice his slight impatience too.

"Administrator. The only castle that appeared in the old canon is that."

"What is it?" Mei ask pretentiously.

"The Palace of Dread."
