Hi,my name is Addison Stone,and this is my story. I was born in Toronto, Canada. I am 15 years old and the second child out of three children (the last is on the way). I have an elder brother named Justin and a younger sister named Ava. My mum and dad are both lawyers and are mostly out of town for one case or the other. To them,where they lack in parenting, their wealth will cover for it. I was born in January 1st,my brother, February 1st(17 years of age),and Ava,March 1st(13 years of age). I know you're probably gonna think that I'm lying.

Today been a Monday, I woke up early and went to do my usual greetings to my parents.

"I really have to be quick with that because it's a school day and I have to be at school very early in order to avoid embarrassment", I said as I rushed downstairs.

I change schools because of my parents job or whatever.

"Good morning mum, good morning dad", I said

"Yeah, yeah morning " they both mumbled.

I sighed deeply. Life with them has always been like this. They pay little or no attention to their kids because of their dumb work.

"You know that you can't keep doing this right?" Justin said as he walked down the stairs

"Pretending like we didn't exist" Ava added.

"Who do you take us for?" We all half yelled.

"No, we have to attend to Mrs.Valenzuela first. I'm sorry, did you kids say something?" My mum asked.

"No " we all said in unison 

"You have to take it easy Rose. Don't forget that you're carrying my baby in you and you need enough rest" my dad said to mum.

"I'll rest when I say so " my mom replied glaring at my dad.

"Don't say I didn't warn you. We'll see you later kids. Your drivers will take you'll to school, and um, have fun?" My dad said and went for the exit together with my mom.

"So much for being their number one priority" I said annoyed.

"Cheer up Addy. Ava and I got your back. Isn't that right my little dude?" Justin teased Ava

"Right!" She said jumping up. I smiled.

"I love you guys "I said

"Eww! Now that's just grose. Be strong bro. We leave in the next 30 minutes " Justin said and punched me hard.

"Ouch! Dummy " I managed to say.

"Idiot" he said grinning and left.

 I went to my room, and Ava to hers. I quickly brushed my teeth, took my bath and thought of what to wear to make a good first impression. I eventually decided to wear a blue skirt, a pink hoodie and matching blue Balenciaga sneakers. I put my hair in a ponytail and layerd my edges. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled.

"Perfect" I muttered. I quickly ran to the kitchen and made a sandwich when my phone to beep.

"Time to go" Justin, Ava and I yelled. I took my breakfast with me and left. Justin wore a black hoodie alongside a black joggers and white shoes, and Ava wore a white skirt, orange crop top and orange sneakers with little white stripes on it.

"You look okay, but not that good" I teased Justin

"You always find a way to look bad no matter the situation. Respect bro! He replied.

"Why you..." I said while Ava interrupted me

"Sorry to interrupt whatever this is, but school !" Ava reminded us

"Oh! Sorry. I'll get back at you. I swear it " I told Justin

"A kid can only dream, but a stupid kid will refuse to accept reality " Justin said

"Idiot " I said which earned me a punch from Justin. I groaned. My hand has suffered a lot from the moment Justin was permitted to play with his beloved 'bro'. I left the house, locked the door and put in the security code.

"Hurry up, Addy" Ava yelled.

"Yeah. Hurry up, dork" Justin yelled. I love Justin, but boy, do I hate him. He gets on my nerves. I walked of the porch and went into my car. My siblings and I each had our own car.

"Good morning, Charles"

"Good morning, Miss Addison. How was your night?"

"Fine, yours?"

"Good. Are you ready for school?"

"I hope so, Charles, I really hope so"

I am not a shy person but going to a school where I know no one is something to make the most social person shy.

We arrived at school eight minutes later. Charles opened the door from the inside.

"Do have a nice day, ma'am"

"I'll do my best" I said and closed the door. Justin and Ava were out too. All eyes were on us. Oh no! I began feeling clammy. I glanced at Justin and saw him walking effortlessly. He hardly cared. Majority of the girls present were swooning over him. Some girl even fainted, eww! Ava was walking effortlessly too. I held my head up high and did my best to walk into the school like it was no big deal.

On entering the school, I kept on walking and bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry " I apologized quickly. I was so embarrassed .

"Watch where you're going , weirdo " he replied . The voice I heard made my heart sink a bit. It was so deep. I looked up and saw the most beautiful set of sky blue eyes I'd ever seen staring at me with undisguised disgust . He was perfect.

"Out of my way,loser" he said and pushed me so hard, I fell flat on my butt. He may have been handsome,but who the hell did he think he was? I was about yelling at him when a girl approached me.

"I'm so sorry"

"It's okay" I replied. She helped me get up.

"Rona,be nice"she said feeling annoyed.

"Whatever"he said and left.

"I'm so sorry. My brother didn't mean that" she said.

"Sure looks like he did"I mumbled.

"I'm really sorry. Oh my! Where are my manners?

My name's Rebecca. A pleasure to make your acquaintance".

"I'm Addison. The pleasure is all mine" I said dusting myself.

"Are you okay?" She asked worried.

"Yeah. So,he, I mean Rona is your brother.

"Yes. Once more, I apologize on his behalf. He's not normally like this, I swear".

"Girl, chill. It's alright"

"Thank you. You look new here by the way".

"I am"

"Want me to show you around?"

"Yes please

Rebecca showed me around the school, and it was actually a nice place. Everyone except Rona were pretty nice. The principal couldn't be more nice. Oh, and also, I got my timetable and Rebecca happens to be in all my classes. Hurray for me!

"C'mon, we have Algebra now. Don't want to be late to Mrs. Biggs class" Rebecca said dragging me.

"Right "I said. This was gonna be the start of a beautiful friendship.

All my classes were okay. I made some friends. During recess, I headed to the cafeteria alongside 'Becca.

"C'mon"she said pulling me.

We got our food and went to sit at our table.

"So, tell me more about yourself"

"I'm Addison, Addy for short. I am the second child of my parents. We are three and a 'soon to be here ' child,and..."

"Oh my god! Who's that?" Becca asked cutting me short.

"First of all,rude, and secondly,who?"

"Him!" She said pointing at a guy at the table to the far left corner.

"What happened to him?" I asked suddenly losing interest.

"He's so gorgeous. Oh my god!" She swooned, making me to almost choke on my drink.

"I'm sorry, what?!"

"Yes,he is. Just look"

"I don't want to"

"Why not?" She asked pouting.

"He's nothing new to me"

"Why would you say that"

"Because he's an idiot"

"(Deep gasp)Who are you to say that?" She whispered.

"Who better than his sister?"

"No way"she gasped.

"Yes way"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Someone cut me short. I wonder who"I said sarcastically

"My bad. So,are you going to introduce me?"

"Um, lemme think about it... No!

"Why not?"

"I can't really refer you to someone who literally blinds his eyes to everyone and everything. We're done and leaving, c'mon "

"But fine boy..."she protested.

"Now"I commanded literally pulling her.

"You'll get over it " I added.

In the process of dragging her, I bumped into someone. Ugh! What now? I whirled around and was about to give the person a piece of my mind.

"What the hell do..." I began but clamped my hand over my mouth. The person was Rona. He raised his eyebrow at me. My heart stopped beating.

"What the hell do what, huh?" He asked.

"Um..." I was lost of words as his stare made me melt.

"Just as I thought" he said smirking.

"What do you want Rona?" Becca asked.

"Nothing. Just came to see how this duffer is doing on her first day".

"Don't call her that" Becca warned.

"She's not complaining, is she? He asked staring giving Becca a glare.

"You don't even like me" I said trying to divert his attention towards me.

"I know,duffer" he said and forced himself through us. My brother walked up to him and shook his hand.

"Bro" Justin greeted.

"Dude"

"What's up?"

"Good, good my man"

"How's your girlfriend by the way?" Justin asked.

I felt dizzy on hearing that, and I think Rona noticed because he looked right at me and said,

"She's fine".

On saying that, Rona slung his hand around Justin's shoulders and left.

"He has a girlfriend?" I asked Rebecca.

"Yeah" she scowled.

"What's her name, and what's she like?"

"Her name is Misty, and that's what a Misty's like"

On saying that, she turned my head to the door leading to the cafeteria. A girl burst through the door. She had a beautiful blonde hair and green eyes. She walked like she owned the place and pushed anyone who dared stand in her way.

"Babyyy" she whined as she sat on Rona's lap.

"Yes,baby?"

"Wanna come over to my place?"

"Sure", he replied.

"And we can probably..." She said tracing his face.

"Always"he said while staring at me.

They both got up heading for the door when she sited Becca and I.

"Look who we have here. Rebecca, what a nice..."she began but stopped when she saw me. She scowled deeply.

"Who are you?" She asked disgustingly.

"I'm Addison. Nice to..."

"Ewww! Don't talk to me. I don't speak to weird ugly people".

"Okay?"

"What are you doing with my favourite sister-in-law and bff?"

"I'm not..."Becca tried to counter.

"If you wanna keep that tiny little face of yours,stay away from us"she said as she hissed angrily. Wtf!

"Or what, Misty?"

"How dare you?"

"How dare I? You came harassing me for doing nothing and..."

She didn't allow me finish with my words as she gave me a resounding slap.

"Shut the hell up you..."

I didn't let her finish when I returned the slap to her. She fell on the floor wailing.I glanced at Rona and saw him doing his best not to give me an eye contact. He bent down and helped Misty you.

"If you know what's good for you stay away from my girlfriend and I" Rona said angrily.

"Great the Rona I know is back" I said within myself.

Becca and I watched Rona and Misty as they walked away.

"You seems like you just got slapped across the face" Becca said

"What a smart child you are"I said sarcastically

"Figuratively I mean dingus"she chuckled

"I guess"I whispered

"C'mon let's go. We have chemistry class. After school we can go shopping"

"Who's gonna pay?

"I will" Becca said

"You sure?

"Yeah"

"Alright then let's go"

On entering the chemistry laboratory, I saw Misty at the back sitting on Rona's lap.

"Oh great"I said to myself.

"You'll live" Becca said

We took our seats. Unfortunately,it was the seat beside them. I could feel my heart racing. I peeked at Rona to see what he was doing and noticed him staring at me. I smirked at him making him give me a scowl. It didn't take long for Misty to notice our act. She immediately raised her middle finger at me.

"Good morning class" Miss Wendy greeted.

"Good morning Miss Wendy" we replied

"Today we'll be carrying out an experiment to study how the rate of reaction varies with time. What you have to do is to choose your partner and you may be begin. If you have any challenge feel free to ask me.

"Okay, let's get this over with" I told Becca.

"Are you the smart type or...?"

"Yes Becca the best"

"Then you'll have major problem with Rona and I" she said avoiding eyes as she picked up a conical flask.

"Meaning?"

"I mean, I'm the best in our grade as well as Rona. Although, Rona's quite better off with science subjects but this term I must try to beat him".

"Whatever Miss Smarty-pants, let's do this.

I grabbed everything we needed and began the experiment.

"Place 10g of marble chips in a conical flask".

"Done".

Add about 100cm³ of 1M hydrochloric acid to the marble chips, and plug the mouth of the flask loosely with cotton wool

"Um, done" she said concentrating.

"Place it on a balance, and we start the stop clock... now!"

"Nice"

"I'll do the recording you do the graph"

"Got it"

It took us about 8 minutes to finish the experiment. We went back to check our work to avoid silly mistakes, made corrections where necessary and put up our hands.

"Yes, Addison?"

"We're done with our experiment"

"Is that so?" Miss Wendy asked not bothering to hide her shock.

"Yes"

"Okay, can you tell us your result and conclusion?"

"To begin with the reaction rate based on our table is 12.5g per min
