Learning Alchemy

"Twice as much?!" Ian parroted in disbelief. After all, it's not an increase of 10 percent or 20 percent, but doubled the effect of Stamina Potion.

"At least, that is how my father call it. It actually recover your stamina while at the same time, cause your stamina depletion to be reduce slower than it should be," Euralle explained.

"In other words, instead of recovering all our stamina, it also make it our stamina last longer, to make it easier to understand," he summarised.

 "Yes," she nodded.

"Still, that is still incredible," Ian uttered. After all, to not suffer for fatigue for who knows how long, it will help them in the long run.

"How long does the state last?" he asked.

"It should last for an hour, and then, the person might suffer from lethargy for 10 minutes or so. I want to make it so the side effect to be less, or if it's possible, no longer there but it require more research and possible too many expensive resources to make," she answered while providing more details.

"Hhmm, how much will it take for you to research such thing?" Ian suddenly asked.

"Well, it depends on the potions. For simpler potions like normal healing potions and stamina potions, I could make it so the healing potion to have a recovery effect for an hour, but it merely accelerate the bodies natural healing, not make it so you become invulnerable.

As for the more expensive potions, like an illusion potion or a offensive-based potions, then it will take longer to improve. As for creating one from the scratch, it will take so much research that I won't even know where to start at," she replied while cleaning the alchemy station.

"In that case, how about another deal?" Ian asked.

 "Another deal?" she parroted.

"Yes, between the two of us," Euralle put her hands under her chin, thinking it over before asking, "What will I get?"

"Straight to the point, eh? Well, I will give you money for it, probably enough to help you buy better equipment and books to further your study," he offered.

"Tempting, so what is the deal?" she asked straight to the point.

"I want you to teach me everything you know about alchemy," he told her, making the pinkette look at him weirdly.

 "Eh?!"

-x-

"So, what you are saying, you hoping to learn alchemy to further your understanding in magic?" Euralle repeated his reasoning.

"Yes, so, do you accept?" she thought about it some more before nodding.

"Yes, I accept, but I want to know how much you offer?" she straight up wanting to haggle. Thankfully, Ian had done some research on how much most alchemist asked for tutor fees. And well, he will a lot more than what is usually asked, at least in Midarna City.

"How about 5 gold coins a month?" he put out.

Euralle who had a smug smile on her face now have a look of disbelief, her eyes almost bulging by how wide it went.

 "F-fi-five go-gold co-coins a mon-month?" she stuttered, shocked by the massive amount.

"What, not enough?" he teased the woman who shook her head so fast he was worried it will fell of her neck.

"It is more than enough!" she exclaimed. "It's insane to pay that much for a monthly lesson!" she told him.

"What can I say, this is a gamble of mine. I want to see if I can improve myself. So, do you accept the deal or not?" he asked again.

In the end, Euralle nodded, before taking another piece of paper, preparing to write the contract.

-x-

"So, what did you talk about?" Kell asked.

"Oh, I just making another deal with her, just between me and her," Ian answered.

This make Kell looked at him seriously, which is a rare look on Kell, even when they are in a new world.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked.

"I ask her to teach me alchemy, while promising a lot of money for the teaching fee," Ian answered.

"Like that," Kell sighed in relief. "Well, better clear things up with Fiona then," he pointed at the blond, who is huffing and leaving them behind.

Realizing how it sound, Ian began to chase after the girl.

 "Fiona, wait!"

"He needs to learn more of a girl's feeling," behind him, both Lisa and Ana have a look of disbelief over the hypocritical thing he just said.

-x-

"Fiona, let me explain-" "What?! That you find another woman! That you are going to leave me behind! I don't want to hear anythi- " she was cut off when Ian kiss and hugged her.

"Please let me tell everything before coming into your own biased conclusion,"

-x-

As Ian tell what actually happened, Fiona turned from disbelief, into mortification of how she acted.

"So, that is what actually happ- Fiona, are you crying?" he asked, hearing the blonde started sobbing.

"I-its ju-just that I accuse you of cheating when you are just wanting to learn alchemy. I am a horrible girlfriend," she said between crying.

Ian merely shook his head before pulling her into his embrace. "It's alright, unjustified jealousy is sometime normal. After all, who wants their love ones to cheat on them," he tried to assure her.

"B-but," "No buts. You are worried because I act like I want to court the alchemist, am I right," seeing her nod, he merely smiled, "Don't worry, I am more interested in alchemy, so, you don't have to worry about it,"

She nodded before getting on top of him, her breast pressing his chest, "Do you think, you can show how much you love me tonight?" she shyly asked, though Ian is more surprised she was willing to say something like that.

"Sure," he answered. "But let's have dinner first," he added, his and Fiona's stomach grumbling. The two looked at one another before laughter burst out of their mouth.

-x-

"So, have you to make up?" Kell asked, worried over them both.

"Yes, it is a misunderstanding and jealousy in my part," Fiona replied honestly. Then again, with how the two suddenly get so close, it is apparent they have make up. It just as the leader, Kell have to make sure their fight will not disrupt the others.

"Understood, in that case, let's have dinner," the announcement were met with enthusiastic cheers, though Ian could feel Fiona's hand intetwining with his, a promise of what is to come tonight.
