Field Training... Inside a Forest?

"So, do you think you are ready to do this?" Kell asked the girls. They are currently in front of Thrine Forest.

The plan for today is to take out as many monsters as possible, girls only challenge. The boys will observe them, and make sure they are not ambushed.

They will be at a distance of around 100 feet or so, to not be targeted, and to make sure they can see them and provide assistance when needed.

"Of course! That's why we are training so hard, though calling it torture is more appropriate," Ana exclaimed. Kell and Ian did not even deny the allegation. After all, it can be considered torture.

"Yeah, torture," Fiona mumbled to herself. Unfortunately, her trainer could hear it loud and clear.

"Looks like you need to get more training, Fiona," she gulped. After all, training at this point translates to sexual harassment, except it is consensual on her part.

"Wow, you must be scared with how red you are," Ana told Fiona, who merely nodded. Though, scared is one of the feelings she had during their training, excitement is the other more pronounced one.

However, it seemed she had become more and more perverted the longer she spent with Ian. Trying to shove the more lewd thought away, she decided to look anywhere except her boyfriend.

"So, we have to come up with our plan, right?" Fiona tried to confirm the details. The two trainers nodded. After all, there will be time they will separate from the group, and they need to form a cohesive plan on their own.

"Alright, let's do it like this..."

-x-

Lisa will be our eyes, and make sure there are no monsters flanking us. So, she should climb a tree and look ahead. During this time, I will be hidden behind Ana, so the monsters will not be able to take me down if I get too far from the group

-x-

"There seems to be a group of monsters. I see green, not sure if they are goblins or just leaves. It is too far to recognize their species," Lisa said from her spot on top of a tree. Without a spyglass, she was able to see a distance of around 500 feet, inside a dense forest.

"Move slowly, Ana. Lisa, you can climb down now and try to climb another tree. Try to determine the monsters' species so we can be prepared for any ambushes and as such," Fiona ordered.

The ranger climbs down before heading towards another tree, this time nearer to where she spots the monster. There, she was able to determine the monsters' species.

"It's goblins, around 7 strong. But there might be an ambush. I am going to see if I can spot them," Lisa reported before climbing to the edge of a branch.

After a few minutes of scouting, she climbs down, "I don't see any ambushes. Either this is a small group or the ambushes is well hidden,"

"Hhm, looks like we have to risk it. Lisa, make sure you stay by my side while Ana charges and confuses them. Then, I will cast Flare, so make sure to not turn your head, Ana, and close your eyes, Lisa," Fiona told them.

"Understood," the two nodded before they took their spot. As they got closer, Ana charged at the goblin's group. Because she is smaller than Kell, it did not have much effect compared to the bigger man.

But, what Kell has in strength and speed, she had more in terms of agility. So, she slashes them before retreating and charging again. Her fighting style makes Kell force her to train her stamina more, as it exhausting in the long run.

With how much her stamina improved, she was able to do the small version of guerilla warfare for almost an hour.

"Ana! Flare!" she heard the warning and began to seek a nearby tree before shielding herself. From the corner of her eyes, she could see a bright light, prompting her to close it to avoid suffering blindness.

"Flare is done," hearing this, Ana stood up before beginning to hunt the enemy with zero mercy. With most of them writhing on the ground, clawing their eyes, it did not take long before they were finished.

"Looks like there are no ambushes," Fiona pointed out, which made the others be in deep thought.

"So, this line is a small group, not even reaching a tribe level," "It seems so," as the three girls began to converse, the two trainers looked at with a hint of pride.

"Looks like they will be able to handle things on their own in the future," Ian exclaimed, a hint of pride in his voice.

"Hahaha! Look who is training them, a fighting prodigy and a genius mage! Of course, those three will turn out great," Kell boosted.

Ian merely shook his head, but he knew his friend was right. As long as the girls maintain their cohesion and work together every time, they will be able to handle whatever monsters are thrown their way.

The only thing they need now is experience, which takes time. But as long as they keep up the good work, Ian knows they will triumph over every adversity.

"Of course, this is one group," Ian pointed. "Let's see how many groups of monsters they can handle before they need our help,"

-x-

The result had been astounding, in Ian's opinion. Aside from times when there are just too many monsters, where they retreat first before launching a more cohesive counterattack, the rest had been relatively fine.

Currently, they are handling a slime pod, numbering 17 slimes. The numbers are a bit much but with their teamwork, they were able to handle the pod with ease.

Even Fiona engages in the battle, casting Arcane Shot and blowing the monsters apart. Light did not have much effect on them, sadly, but the blonde did not let that stop her from causing devastation to the monsters.

"Looks like they can handle things on their own," Kell admitted. With how they were not even phase with the number of monsters, they will be able to handle even D-rank commission and have their rank upgraded to Iron.

"Looks like we also need to improve as well," Ian exclaimed, earning a nod from the bigger male.

"Do you think they allow us to handle C-rank commissions?" Kell asked. Ian shook his head, "I am sure they will not allow it but we have to ask to be sure. Not to mention, from what I knew, the highest rank adventurers in this town is Bronze,"

"Then, where are the higher rank adventurers go?" "They go to the wider world, maybe even heading towards the larger cities," Ian explained.

"So, we will move to those cities, right?" Kell asked.

"If we want to," even though he worded it like that, they both knew the two of them were interested in the larger world.
