FANTASY/FICTION
Enye returned to her headquarters with a troubled heart, she sat in her office chair, and the words spoken by the masked figure kept ringing in her head.
"Don't you feel that your life is in danger, don't you know? Even for the size of a level 5 wormhole, it takes several platoons to close it."
Enye actually did know something like that, but for some reason, maybe because she was too happy that this was her platoon's first debut or because she was an idiot who didn't realize that she and her children were being led into a pit of death.
However, if they really wanted her and her platoon destroyed, why would her Colonel order them to back off.
She held her head, dizzy thinking about the complex things that had just happened.
She stood up and reached for a photo of her and her children on the day they graduated.
The system in the government army was that the Major and their platoon were chosen from scratch, they continued to train together before graduating, the goal was to build a very strong and trusting relationship.
Enye remembers the first time she was chosen to be the Major of platoon 69, hers sons at the time were very dissatisfied and disappointed as to why their Major had to be a woman, but after Enye beat up almost half of her sons, they finally accepted Enye.
She was a cold-hearted and hard-headed woman, but for some reason right now, she felt her eyes burn. But suddenly there was someone knocking on the door.
Quickly restoring herself to her cold and ruthless self, she put the photo back, then sat down and turned on her computer.
"Come in."
It turned out to be Enye's secretary. With a sad face, she walked in front of Enye and bowed.
"I've heard the news ma'am, and I'm sorry about the incident."
"Well, thank you, what's wrong?"
"Colonel Tamond Larson is waiting for you in the meeting room to report the results of the wormhole closure."
Enye nodded and followed her secretary to the conference room.
After arriving there, Enye was surprised that almost all the Majors were present in the meeting room, but she was neither nervous nor afraid, compared to the pressure from the two legendary dragons, let alone the masked man, this was nothing.
Enye calmly sat in her chair and her secretary stood beside her.
Enye's platoon could be classified as a new platoon, hence it was her first mission. And she was also the only female Major in the government army. She often received ridicule and scorn from the other Majors, and they even secretly wanted to bring her down, but Enye didn't really care.
They all stared intently at Enye but when Colonel Tamond started talking their focus shifted.
"Alright now that everyone is gathered, we will begin the annual meeting."
'Annual meeting?'
Enye felt confused, after all, the annual meeting usually started at the beginning of the year and was attended by the president and other high-ranking officials.
"The year-end meeting this time is a bit different because there is something urgent, and after this, we will report it to the president. Alright first-."
The annual meeting discussed the phenomenon of the higher presentation of wormholes and the reports of each platoon for the year. During the meeting, there were many Majors who kept targeting Enye, especially regarding her failure to close the wormhole which was very rare.
And finally it was time for the Major of platoon 69 to make a report.
"Well, I'm sure everyone has heard what happened to 69th platoon, I know that this is my fault, and therefore, I apologize profusely and I'm ready to accept punishment." she said as she stood up and bowed.
"Enye, didn't the headquarters order you to withdraw, why didn't you withdraw?"
"Everything happened suddenly colonel, when we had just arrived, Out of nowhere, the wormhole suddenly emitted a very loud boom and thick black corrosive and toxic smoke came out, and anything it touched would instantly die and melt, including-." Her expression was bitter and she couldn't continue her words.
"Did the impact really reach that far? And, didn't you manage to get inside, and in the report I received, you disappeared for several hours after the wormhole was successfully closed, where did you go, and who closed it?"
The series of questions made Enye dizzy, whether she should tell the truth or cover it up, on one hand she was afraid of their anger, on the other hand, she knew that this information was very important to the government's army.
"I did manage to get in, and the first thing I saw was hundreds of Annis Hag corpses, and after that, I suddenly fainted from the pressure of a monster that I wasn't sure what it was, and then, after I woke up, I woke up not far from the wormhole and I tried to find out what really happened, but I found nothing."
Enye chose to keep the information about the three entities.
"Hundreds of Annis Hag corpses?"
"Yes, but that's what I saw, but I'm sure it's more than thousands, even millions."
"Nonsense!"
Suddenly, Mayor from platoon 33 Morn Hawk stood up and slammed the table.
"What do you mean, Mayor Morn?" Enye asked.
"How could there be thousands or even millions of Annis Hag corpses just like that, you must be hiding some facts."
"If you and your own platoon went there, you would say the same thing, and also how could none of the dozens of platoons there be able to help us at that time?"
Enye looked at each of the mayors from each platoon and finally stopped at Colonel Tamond Larson.
"That's enough!, this meeting is adjourned, everyone is dismissed."
They all dispersed.
"Mayor Enye, please wait a moment, there's something I want to discuss with you."
