Was He Okay?

The night was young and the worry in the Mansion was inevitable. Servants ran around and they kept a distance from the living room.

"Li Na, tell me, when was the last time you two talked?" Li Chen stood under the chandeliers as he questioned Li Na. It was half-past twelve and Aizhe wasn't yet at home. She was never this late.

'Something big must have had happened.'

For the nth time, receiving no question from his sister, Li Chen's eyes glared darkly at her. He looked at his mother and went forward to her with an irritated gaze.

"Mother, a lot of people came and went, but I have always respected my sister because she is my family."

But, if anything happened to Aizhe, you can tell her to server that ties as well."

"Huh! For a mere low-class girl, you and your father are going to threaten your family members? I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"Wow, I raised you well Chen." she finished with a clap of her hands in an exaggerated way as she reprimanded him.

Looking at her son in the eyes, Chen Meng gave him an equal look. She glared as she took Li Na's hand and went out of the room.

Closing the door to her bedroom, she sat down and took her phone to call someone. She looked worried as she dialed someone repeatedly.

Li Na on the other hand kept fidgeting with her fingers and walking around the room like she was stressed about something. "Mother, would she be okay though?," she asked her. Ever since the news of Aizhe's disappearance went off, this was the first time she opened her mouth and said something.

Hearing her, Cheng Meng looked up and gave her a warning look.

Standing up, she went towards Li Na and grabbed her shoulders. "Li Na, can you keep your mouth shut? If your brother hears us, it wouldn't do us any good!"

Li Na immediately shut her mouth and started to walk around in the room again. While in her reverie, her phone started to ring and she immediately jumped.

Patting her heart, she took her phone out and her face immediately went pale. Her hands trembled and she debated against picking the calling. However after thinking for a while, she couldn't help her hands sliding in through the screen.

"Hello," A familiar creepy tone rang out.

"Hello sweetheart, missed me? Where are you?

"H--home.." She stuttered.

"Come to the usual place!" His charming tone reached her ears and she wished she hadn't picked up the call.

"I can't... It's late.." She tried to come up with an excuse but her meek tone deceived her. A chuckle reached through the phone and it sent chills down her spine.

"I want you here ..so...come fast!" Saying that sentence, the beeping sound followed after it. Li Na stood there frozen as she looked down at her hands.

She was done for..she had messed up really bad this time. No one could save her..no one...

Looking at her mother who was calling someone, she debated whether she should tell her or not.

She raised her hands to call for her, but before she could reach out to her, her hands froze in the air and she debated against, leaving the room.

'I am sorry mother, you were right..' Li Na thought inwardly. She wished she could rewind the time and never did that...

---

The lights were dim. No source of light was visible in the huge room. The only source of light was the ceilings that were filled with the stars and moon.

It's LED light shined on the face of the laid figure. She had her hair in a low bun and her face which was always shining were filled with scratches and scars that day.

Her striped clothes were changed to a powder pink dotted satin pajamas and it covered up the remaining bruises in her body. Her body coherently moved up and down as she breathed calmly in her sleep. She looked calm and nothing like before.

A hand reached out to pat her creased forehead. His huge hand slowly traced down from her eyes to her rosy lips. He took a deep, careful look at her peaceful face. She was almost gone from his grasp today. He was scared to death. It was surprising to him how a girl so different from him could make him feel so many emotions all at once.

Was this even possible? Standing up from the round bed, Ah Si put his hands in his black silk pajamas pockets. He stood tall as he carefully placed the blanket on her fragile body. He tucked it under her chin and arms and then turned around to walk to the huge fixed windows. He reached there with the mug of coffee.

His addiction to coffees wasn't a mere liking. It was beyond that. He first started getting more caffeine than needed after that evening. The evening he wished and promised to never turn back to.

The sweet yet bitter taste washed over his taste bud and he breathed out a refreshing scent. The whole city was visible in front of him. He turned back and saw her relaxed, sleeping face. "Be okay, Zhe. We haven't even yet talked about our future plans..."

He turned around as his eyes fixed on the window for an extended period. He kept thinking of the cruelty that was going to shun over the whole city tomorrow.

The night was really beautiful. The cities night view was also wonderful. But his deep eyes were glued in there as he thought over his strategies the next day.

When he heard shuffling from the back, his heart first pondered on the thought that she could fall from the bed. He swiftly moved towards the bed and held her wrist to balance her.

Aizhe looked up with her bloated face. One side of her face was dark purple and the other red. She looked to be in pain as she held her head and looked around everywhere. Finally finding his comforting onze eyes, she found out that she wasn't in her bedroom but rather his.

She looked down and her throbbing heartbeat seemed to lessen. She thought over the accident and her shoulders shuddered. Her eyes darkened in defense and her hands started to clasp into his tightly. She felt agitated and irritated at the same time.

Ah Si held her hands in his, and he looked at the furious girl carefully. Holding her hands tightly, he said.

"Let it go, lay down and close your eyes for a while."

His words were like a spell that cast in her. She let go of her balled fist and looked into his deep gaze.

"I don't feel sleepy anymore, Si." She smiled dryly.

"So, what do you want to do?," He smiled at her sincerely and warmly.

Feeling slightly dizzy, Aizhe shrugged it off and smiled at him. Rubbing her stomach, she giggled in her true self. She was truly hungry. The last time she ate was yesterday's dinner in her room.

Chuckling at her adorable gesture, Ah Si stood up and went towards the door. Feeling slightly empty by his departure, Aizhe's face dropped but she nonetheless waited for him patiently.

Not a minute passed by and he was already back to her side. He came with a tray of various food.

Aizhe's face lit up at the thought of food, but when she saw the food, her smile froze. There were several vegetables and greens. The most important thing there was soup.

It was half-past one thus Ah Si also bought her Chinese Noodle Soup. Aizhe who hated soup looked up to him with helplessness visible in her eyes.

Having no escape to this, she picked the spoon and tasted the soup. It had a bland taste but the lard and diced tomato added additional flavor to it.

As she kept taking more scoops of the soup, she realized it wasn't as bad as she thought. She was truly amazed at how good it actually tasted.

Looking up with her dewy brown orbs, she asked him in an astonished manner. "Who cooked this?," Ah Si who was busy blowing the soup for her looked up at the mention of the soup. Raising his brows, he replied. "Who do you think did it?," At first she didn't understand his questioning but when it occurred to her the possibility of him cooking, she gasped.

"You cooked? Do you know how to cook Si?, "

Her eyes glowed as she imagined him cooking. How wonderful would that be! She doesn't even have to cook in the future...

Future? Did she just think of her future with him? These feelings were so warm and giddy.

However, at that moment, she realized she knew wat less about him. She never really asked about him. He knew much about her and was always trying to know her but she never asked.

She held his hands as she tried to get to know him.

"Ah Si, what else do you know?," Seeing her interest in him, Ah Si smiled at her with an arc forming at the side of his lips.

He said: "I believe, a lot. But the utmost thing I would perhaps want to be able to fully know is you.." He said to her with the arc on the corner of his lips widening. His eyes were also getting darker and the light by the ceiling hitting on his face was adding up to his charm.

He looked ethereal. Aizhe finally realized how majestic and handsome he truly was.

Ah Si chuckled with a deep manly tone as he watched her flushed face. As a habit, he moved a hand through his raven long locks and tied it up with the hairband next to the lampstand.

"Why do you always say such shameless thing?,"

"What shameless thing? Miss Li, I am honest with my feelings." He replied, taking the bowl of soup from her lap and making her lay back on the bed.

She laid there as she raised the blanket till her face was invisible. Her face flushed more in shade. Her eyes were also in trance by his appearance earlier.

Why was he like this? Always teasing her. In that case, she might as well just sleep than argue back with him. She had no brain cells to waste on him!

Seeing her ignoring him, Ah Si shook his head and went towards the bed. With one swift, he took the whole blanket away from her. Aizhe looked at him with wide eyes as she wondered what got on to him.

"Hey, what is wrong with you...I am cold and sleepy..."

"I know, we need to apply the medicine and then you can sleep," He took the medicine the doctors had prescribed for her and he waved it in front of her.

Looking away from her eyes, he placed the package in her hands and waited for her to do it on her own.

Aizhe looked at the package and she understood his intention. It was a cream and the bruises were on her private parts. She didn't wish for him to help with her business and took the cream from his grasp. She tried to stand up and do it in the toilet, but hissed at the pain and fell back in the bed with a thud.

"Aizhe, careful." He immediately held back her shoulders. In the process of stabilizing her, his foot slipped and he laid on top of her. His eyes wavered at the sight of her exposed smooth neckline and opened three buttons of her top.

He gulped and immediately turned over to let her get up. "Give me the cream, lay down first."

"But--" she hesitated.

"I will not look, trust me." he cut her short and quickly reassured her.

Taking the cream from her hands, he made her lay on her back. Aizhe looked stunned for a moment but when she saw his closed eyes, she understood his intentions weren't to do anything. Her face flushed as she wondered what to do of the situation.

Holding his cold hands, she nervously placed it on her bare thighs. The situation seemed a bit awkward for a girl who had never even walked with a guy. But when she thought about the injuries she couldn't reach over, and the guy who was respecting her, she loosened up a bit.

Ah Si on the other hand felt like he was getting tortured over and over again. When he touched her soft baby skin, his fingers felt electrocuted. His hands trembled and he opted to control his inner thoughts instead.

Shutting his eyes more tightly, Ah Si reached over her back and he applied the cream all over her bruised and scratched body parts. Not being able to take it anymore, he put her satin top down and opened his intense eyes immediately.

Not daring to look her in the eyes, Ah Si excused himself. He immediately tucked her in and stormed out of there.

Aizhe watched his figure leaving towards the circle door. That door happened to be the bathroom's door.

'Is he okay' she marveled over it, seemingly worried about him.
