Rising to his feet, Renji took a deep breath as he stared at the Imperial Dragon's body as it dissipated slowly. "Even in death, the concept separating three dimensional beings from four dimensional still applies." He thought.
Unknown to him, the dead body of the Imperial Dragon was returning to the divine realm which was bound to be an issue sooner or later.
He stared at his right palm as he recalled the several notifications that popped up at the start of their battle till now.
"Status." He said softly.

"I see, as I level up so do my automated stats. On reaching level six my mana went from a maximum of 800 to 4800, but damn I overused my mana just before I leveled up. Who knows what would have happened if I didn't defeat her on time." He said as he reviewed his stats.
He also noticed that the more powerful his foe, the more stats point he received and the more his spells and skills levelled up. He allocated 5 points to agility, 5 points to stamina, another 5 points to endurance and 7 points to cognitive capacity. He then allocated the remaining 8 points to intelligence.
He could feel his strength, speed and agility growing like a burning sensation within him.
"That settles that." He concluded as he headed back towards the village, he only hoped the village was still standing after all that violent exchange.
Arriving at the entrance to the village, he came to realize that the village suffered casualties, but not one that could be considered dire. "Thank goodness." He sighed softly.
THUD!
He felt a huge blow in his stomach which propelled him backwards through the ground. "Blegh!" He groaned as he coughed out saliva from his mouth.
"What?" He said, holding his stomach tightly with his right hand as he got up to his knees. He became dumbfounded, he didn't sense any magic or mana or even any malicious aura and yet something had managed to knock him to the ground.
"That was truly an entertaining battle, Renji Storm." A slightly dark and ominous voice spoke aloud, but it was extremely difficult to pinpoint exactly where it came from. It appeared in such a way that the voice spoke from every angle.
"Who are you?" Renji asked, his eyes searching every corner of his surroundings.
"Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing." As the voice spoke, Reo materialized out of thin air a few meters in front of Renji. He placed the tip of the golden sword on his shoulder and in his other hand was the Sphere of Aegis.
"After all, that battle just now was in no way humanly."
"What? The sphere!" Renji said as he searched his pockets thoroughly only to find the Sphere of Aegis wasn't there anymore.
"Tch." He grunted as he rose up to his feet.
"Judging by your reaction, you already suspected me didn't you Storm? That's why you intentionally gave that nuisance an empty box." Reo added, weaving a suspicious grin on his face.
"Yeah... Something was off with you back at the temple, but that's not why I gave Hinata an empty box." Renji replied.
"HAHAHAHA!" Reo laughed out loud in a evil way, his intentions were in no way pure. "You really are smarter than you appear!" He added.
"What do you want with the Sphere of Aegis?" Renji asked, figuring out instantly that Reo is the man the system referred to when it said [Beware he who seeks what is above the heavens].
"Do you know what this sword is? It is the sword of Phantasos!" Reo exclaimed.
"What!?" Renji eyes widened with shock, although it was to be expected after discovering the Sphere of Aegis, he never assumed such a weapon would be here on earth. It turned out the sword they found in the temple was the sword of Phantasos, the god of illusion. The sword is said to hold the power of illusion manipulation, it also explains why Renji was unable to sense the mana in the sword. It was another divine artifact.
"It is said in the scriptures, when you combine the Sphere of Aegis with the sword of Phantasos, a power greater than that of illusion is created. The power to bring my illusions to life!
In the middle of the sword's hilt was a slot made perfectly for Sphere of Aegis, without a second thought Reo inserted the Sphere into the slot. A bright light shone, illuminating the entire village as Reo laughed wickedly.
As the light died down, nothing really changed in the appearance of the sword except the level of mana which Renji couldn't even sense. "With this power I am now the strongest mage alive! However, after witnessing your battle with that dragon, I have concluded you're the only one who poses a threat to me. Disappear just like that old man." Reo said softly.
Realizing he referred to old man Tunlop, his eyes wavered in disbelief momentarily before his brows were furrowed in complete rage. "You bastard... How dare you!" He exclaimed, his aura exploding out of his body like gusts of massive winds.
Reo smiled wickedly at him, holding no regret for what he had done. "How dare you!" He dashed forward at him furiously, summoning the Imperial Dragon's Sword in his right hand as he went on the offensive.
"Reo!" He exclaimed, coming into range as he swung his sword at him.
