After the alert from the soldier owen and the group quickly got ready as the train soon pulled into the overran station but luckily their were no signs of kabane as instead what they found were a group of starving people who had barricaded themselves in.
"Thank you! if you came any late we would have starved to death" A man thanked owen who helped the women on the train pass out food to the starving folk which numbered around 40 - 60 if owens rough count was any bit correct but that didn't matter much as he soon stopped what he was doing as he noticed mumei walking off with what looked to be a disabled man.
conversation between Mumei and the man, as it led to negative consequences in the anime. However, he soon decided against it, as he much preferred to hand starving children food. (Why didn't he go protagonist? Because I want to punch the black smoke in the face, that's why!)
He even played with them a bit, learning how to play Keidoro, which was basically cops and robbers, along with folding origami from a few girls. Owen also took the time to teach the kids how to play hopscotch, which was quite fun until he was eventually called by a guard to have a meeting with Ayame and the others. This saddened the kids, whom Owen promised to play with more.
"Okay, now that nearly all of us are here, we need to discuss the information gathered by our scouts," Kurusu said as he laid out a map that looked like it was pulled straight out of a warzone, with its crumpled corners and burnt black edges. Fortunately, it still served its purpose as Kurusu pointed towards a certain point on the map which had red X marks on it.
"Here is the only clear route out of this station, but unfortunately it's blocked by debris and can only be moved from the track by a crane located over here," Kurusu pointed to an area not too far from the X, causing everyone to nod. At this point, one of Ayame's close aides spoke up, pointing out the fact that survivors told them the boiler nearby is a nest of Kabane.
"But if—oh hey, Mumei, where have you been? Should we explain what we were talking about before?" Ikoma began to speak, but he stopped upon noticing Mumei, who had entered the area of the train they were in from above. His question only got a shake of her head as she waved for Ikoma to continue, which he did after clearing his throat a bit.
"If we take this route, even if a little out of the way, they'll only be able to attack in single file, and with Mumei, there's nothing to fear," Ikoma's voice was clear as he waved at the map, pointing at several smaller areas around the boiler area which powered the crane. This caused everyone to nod as they turned to Ayame, who quickly agreed to the plan with a nod. She then brought up an important question: who would operate it? This was soon answered by Ikoma, who suggested Takumi or Sukari. However, at this point, Owen raised his hand and spoke.
"And if worse comes to worse, I can operate it," this shocked everyone, including Owen, who was surprised to find a moment ago that his body had experience working a crane, as the body's owner had experience working many jobs. With the memories being highly detailed, Owen would be able to operate the crane if need be.
"Alright we will gather up later to act so everyone can go relax until their called later" it was at this point everyone began to leave except owen and few others as he watched ayame approach mumei who face has been nothing but a constant frown till now and asked a question.
"Will you help too, Mumei-san?" Her voice sounded hopeful as she asked this, but the words that followed from Mumei's lips did not match that hope.
"Okay, but I won't fight with you," these words set a stunned, shocked silence through the room. Those who were leaving stopped in place, and everyone turned to face Mumei, who rested her head in her hands.
"What are yo—AUGH!" When Ikoma went to speak and ask what she was talking about, he received a kick to the face as he turned around to face her. Mumei stood up and asked a question that left everyone in the train in an uproar.
"Why don't you go directly for the boiler? You're going around because you're scared of the Kabane, right? I can't fight with cowards like that," she said, causing everyone in the room to display different emotions on their faces. Owen's expression was the only odd one as he gave Mumei a look as if looking at an idiot, a stark contrast to everyone else's shocked or angry looks.
"That's not it!" Ikoma shouted, his voice indignant and angry, as he tried to approach Mumei. However, she kicked him in the face, catching him off guard and causing him to stumble back as blood flew from his mouth.
"Stay back! You'll infect me with your stupidity!" Mumei's voice was sharp and cutting. She continued, her tone growing more insulting and degrading.
"I have no time for detours. You can plod around behind me." She attempted to leave, but before she could, Owen's spear whizzed past in front of her, embedding itself into a nearby wall, blocking Mumei's path. Owen spoke, his voice clear, with everyone's attention now on him.
"If you're not going with the plan, then you're staying here," he declared. All he got was a scoff from Mumei, who hopped over the spear and left the train car.
"Everyone I dont know whats come over her but plan for the worst" owen said before he to left the train as he went off to relax before they would have to begin the operation
*Couple hours later*
The group was now ready to move, but before the could owen stopped them as he looked over at mumei who seemed ready to go with them. This was somthing owen would not allow unless she would follow the plan as even though he planned to kill the black smoke here and now he would prefer to do that once everyone is safe and on the train out of the station as he could catch up later if he uses his titan. all of which could be ruined if mumei does what she did in the anime and woke up the black smoke to early as owen did not feel like having a close call with everyones lives.
"Are you going to follow the plan?" He asked, eliciting an eye roll from Mumei, who let out a drawn 'sure'. Sadly for Owen, before he could tell her to stay here, everyone took that as good enough, allowing her to come, much to Owen's discontent. However, he knew all he had to do was make sure she could not run off to do something dumb.
"Good then lets go" With that they soon left their little safe area as they adventured towards the large looming crane in the distance.
'This is going to shit isnt it' That's all owen could think as the group made their way to the crane
