Chapter 7

Only a few months left before the winter ball and on that day, a big event will happen. That is the day where Liliana is going to hurt the precious heart of my Krios and I need to avoid that! Let's tag that as our death flag and we need to do everything to protect the precious heart of my Krios. After Krios's heart was broken, things get a little bit chaotic. While I was doing some documents, I saw Xino's head peeking through the door. I smile at him and gesture to come near. He happily ran towards me and as soon as he gets near, I immediately hug him and he start to chuckle.

"My Lady, are you busy today?"

"No, I'm not and even if I am busy, I would still make sure to make time for you. Now tell me, is there something you want to do?"

Xino's face immediately light up and hugs me even more tighter. I laugh by his reaction and he told me that he wants to go to the capital to make preparations for the upcoming opening of class and I immediately say yes. He immediately excuses himself to prepare and I also stop doing my work and ask Elen to help me prepare.

"My Lady, is there something you want to wear today?"

Mhhh, I don't really care about what I wear because when I'm still on my world, wearing a t-shirt and pair it with a jean. But I think, in this world, noble women should wear something shinny and sparkly to show-off their wealth and rank. Should I also do that? Well, I am the wife of a Duke and that makes me a Duchess. Should I also do what the old Liliana do? Well, people are now starting to speculate that I just suddenly change and some say that I'm acting to be nice so that the Duke will cherish me. Liliana and Krios wedding was the talk of the year in the whole kingdom. Liliana, born into the house of Marquess Loubutin and being the only daughter, she grew up being doted by all of her brothers and because of that, Liliana grew up being prideful and full of herself. It is true that Liliana is one of the beautiful women in the whole kingdom but her attitude makes people keep making rumors about her. Many men tried to court her but give up either in the starting point, in the middle of it or after a few months. No one can stand her attitude where all she does was shopping and spending every penny they have. Even I was still just a simple reader of this novel, hate Liliana but when I found out what happened to her in the past, I quite understand her, just a little bit. After Elen do my hair and help me put some accessories, I smile at my reflection. Way back when I'm still not Liliana, I am ugly, to the point no one wants to date me or become my friend, that's why seeing my pretty reflection on the mirror makes me happy, even I know that this is not the real me. After checking myself in the mirror for a few times, I decided to walk towards the living room to wait for Xino. After a few minutes, I saw running towards me and he's so cute! He's wearing a sailor shirt and shorts! And he's also wearing a beret!

"My Lady! What do you think of my outfit?"

He turns around in front of me and I clap my hands because he looks so cute! I gave him a two thumbs up and we both laugh. When we were about to ride the carriage, Krios arrive and saw us. Xino immediately ran towards his uncle and told him that we we're going to the capital to buy some school supplies. Krios ruffled his hair and walks towards me. He wraps his hands at my waist and kissed me at my cheeks. I immediately blush but I didn't push him or tried to fight his actions, but rather, I close my eyes and immerse myself into his embrace.

"I'm also going to the capital, is it fine if I tag along with you two?"

I immediately say yes and the three of us enter the carriage. The capital is quite far from our Dukedom so I brought a lot of sweets to eat on the way but Krios pull out a scroll and tore it into 2 piece and the surroundings of the carriage suddenly lights up. Because it's too bright, I close my eyes and after a few minutes, I feel that the light somehow disappears and when I open my eyes, I saw that we're already in the capital. Did Krios just used some magic? Wow, that so cool! After a few minutes ride, we arrive at the capital center square and I immediately saw a lot of stores and many people walking here and there. The carriage stops in front of a stationery store and Krios eyes immediately light up. Krios and I just laugh because it really shows how excited he is to go back to class. Xino saw us laughing and he pout and told us that we're being unfair. We walk out the carriage and as soon as we set a foot in front of the store, many people immediately look at us. Well, Krios is deadly handsome even if he's not showing his face, his body is enough to make the ladies legs tremble, and of course, Liliana has a beauty of a temptress and men can't help but to look at me and lastly, our very cute Xino! When we entered the store, all of the people's attention landed on us and they start to murmur something to each other. One of the store's staff greeted us and Xino gave her the list of things he need. Xino told us that he wants to be the one who's going to choose everything because he wants to start being independent and just want Krios and I to overlook at his actions. I just silently follow him and help him put the stuff he chose into his basket. When we pass the apparel section, I saw a lot of cute clothes that will be perfect for Xino. I told Krios to follow Xino first because I'm going to choose some clothes for Xino. I choose a lot of clothes that will good look at him but while I'm on the middle of choosing Xino's clothes, some random women walk towards me.

"It's been a while, Duchess of Eagleton."

Who are you? I tried to remember if I have seen this woman before or not. I think she feel that I don't know her or I don't remember her. She bows down and introduce herself and also the other women she's with.

"How rude of me not to introduce ourselves. I am Elizabeth Martin, daughter of Count Martin and the ladies beside me are Rose Veyron and Lisa Sapre."

"It's nice to meet you Ladies."

I bow down and smile at them. I think I know who is this Elizabeth, she was the former fiancé of Krios, when he's still a young lad, maybe between the age of 17 and 18. But the engagement broke off immediately when Elizabeth cried so hard by the first she met Krios. It's so obvious that she doesn't like Krios and the people who has a connection to him, so why is she crawling towards my family?

"I see that Duke Krios and Duchess Liliana took out the Young Master Xino today. You three look good together, like a happy family."

So are you implying that we don't look like a real family? Hah, the audacity to publicly disrespect me. I just smile at her and of course I won't let her say something bad at my family.

"Well, thank you. Also Miss Elizabeth family looks good, especially you're the only daughter of Count Martin, your parents must be so considerate and caring towards you."

To the point you grew up without having a proper manners and grew up with a bad attitude. Her face immediately turns to red and I just smile at her. I was about to excuse myself when Krios and Xino appear behind me.

"My Lady, I'm done choosing my school supply."

We excuse ourselves and walk towards one of the staff. As soon as we pay everything we walk out of the store. Because it's already lunch time, we decided to eat at a restaurant and have our fills. People keep staring at us and it's fine, I know how handsome and cute my husband and Xino. We order a simple meal, just enough to fill our stomach. I laugh because Xino is eating his food a little messy but it's fine, he's still young. I took out a napkin and clean his face, after doing that, Xino smile at me and I feel like my heart is going to fall again. While I was pouring my attention to Xino, I heard Krios fake a cough and pointed his right cheek, where there is a sauce. I laugh at his childish remarks and took a napkin to wipe my sauce at his cheeks.

"My Lady, it's not fair, me too!"

"No, the Duchess is my wife so I can have her longer than you."

The both of them keep bickering at each other and I feel the stares of many people. Just keep starring, I don't really care at all.
