Chapter 1
"Stop! Don't leave me alone! Please!"
A guy with tall build is chasing a girl in a very dark and cold hallway. The guy catches up with her foot step and stop her by catching her hand. The girl looks back with irritation with her face and try to pull back her hand. She squirms when the man's grip starting to get tighter and tighter. She starts to panic when she sees that resisting is futile.
"Let me go! You're going crazy! I sad let me go! You're hurting me!"
"B-but, you promise me! On that day, y-you said you'll stay b-by my side until we die!"
"Can't you read the room?! I only marry you because you have the tittle I need! I only marry you because I need to be the duchess of this Kingdom! So that His Majesty will be able to marry me!"
The guy was too stunned to speak; it feels like as if a bucket of cold water was thrown at him. His grip started to lose and the girl take that as an opportunity to break free from the guy's grip. She looks at him so cold and started to speak.
"You see; I don't really want to marry you. Like who want to marry an ugly monster like you? Who knows what kind of face you're hiding in that hideous mask of yours. The only thing that make me marry you is your wealth, your tittle as a Duke, that's all. Don't get the wrong idea here, it doesn't mean I spoke those vows, I would really mean it."
The girl walks out and left the guy on his knees. The guy suddenly laughs historically while wiping his tears but it's all useless because no matter how hard he wipes his eyes because tears keeps falling non-stop.
"That girl!!! How dare she make my Krios cry!! Can't you see how precious he is?! Are you blind or something?!"
I throw my phone after ready the new update of the light novel titled "The ugly Duke". The tittle is irritating me! since the beginning of the story, the author never let Krios feel happy! Like are you angry at Krios or do you feel grudge towards Krios?! I throw my phone at my bed because of too much frustration I feel towards this story. I saw many comments about this story that Krios deserve to be treated like that because of their theory about Krios being a murderer or whatsoever. Of course I would fight those who speak bad about my baby Krios! The percentages of the fans would be me 1% support Krios while 99% of them support Dendric, the main character of the story and the King of the story. He's the guy who Liliana Loubutin try to chase by marrying the softie Krios. Many readers don't understand Krios, well, Krios is kind of weird character. Krios is a very tall guy, with a great body, he has white as snow skin, a golden hair, like as if a drop of sun fell into his hair. The weird part about him is that he wears a mask that can't be removed and it was rumored that his mask can only be remove when the person remove it loves him truly and only love him. If I can enter the story, I would try to get his mask off because I love Krios with all of my heart. Well who wouldn't want to love him? Well except those insolent fools, I can love Krios whatever the appearance he has. I'm the type of person who doesn't care about appearance, as long you have good personality, good attitude and characteristics, would love me truly and be loyal to me, ha! I would never let you go! You're stuck with me to eternity! Haha! I feel like my energy is drain by just ranting about why they hate my Krios. I yawn and slowly lay down in my bed. I look at my phone lock screen, which is my Krios. I smile and drove to dream land.
What's happening? I feel warm and fuzzy inside. This…feels good, like as if a ball of warm cotton wrapping me. I can stay like this forever. I hug tightly this bag of cotton but this cotton is somewhat hard, but as far as I know, cotton is soft so why this cotton is hard? I dismissed the though and hug tightly this big ball of cotton but I suddenly heard a groan. Wait…. A groan?! And it sounded like man! I hurriedly open my eyes and a guy with a mask is sleeping soundly beside me. I stand up and push the guy beside me and he fell down from the bed.
"AAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!"
I cover myself with blanket and I peek to see if the guy is awake or whatsoever. The guy stands up and massage his shoulder. I think I push him too much? But I don't know him! It's natural for me to react like that! A tall build stand in front of me, oh-lala~ wow abs~ ah! Snap out of it! Let's save that for later, for now let's figure out who's this guy is. He looks at me and I feel my jaw drop to the ground.
"Y-you…ha…how…"
"sigh- Do you really despise to be with me? to the point you shouted from the moment you open your eyes?"
How…. HOW COME KRIOS IS STANDING IN FRONT OF ME?! Am I still dreaming? Is this true? Is that really Krios I'm seeing? Is this a dream? Or I'm seeing this because I'm dead? Oh god, Krios is in front of me!
"Krios….is that you?"
He looks back and me I notice immediately his mask. Of course I know that mask, I owned like 100+ of it duh! He picks up his clothes and hurriedly wears them. After wearing every clothe he need, he looks back at me and I can feel his cold stares stabbing me straight to the bone.
"Yes, I'm Krios. You don't need to be formal with me, so stop with the acting, no one's watching you. If you need something, call the maid or the head butler. I'm going now."
Wait! Krios! I was about to call him but no voice came out from my mouth. I only watch his back step outside the room and coldly close the door. What did just happen?! Why is my baby Krios so cold to me?! I stand up and was about to go towards the door when I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. I slowly walk towards the mirror and my eyes widen when I saw who I am.
"I am Liliana?!"
What kind of dream is this?!
