Chapter 74

"Hello my most beautiful nanny. You know how much I love you right? You have to put that pretty smile on so that you can seduce whoever comes through that gate. Do you…" I wanted to bribe her with my sweet scented words but I was cut off since she knew what I wanted to do.

"Enough Ash", she said making me swallow the rest of my words. "I already know why you are late so no need for your bribery", she said walking inside.

"Yeah. Right", I said and followed her inside. It skipped my mind Jennie had already been home and she'd probably told her about what was going on before heading to the hospital.

"How is your friend doing now?", she asked when we got to the hall.

"The surgery was a success but we are just waiting for him to gain consciousness", I said and sat on the couch.

"That's a very good news to hear. Jennie called telling me you were the one who took him to the hospital,is that true?", she asked out of the blue.

"Why can't that girl keep your mouth shut?is she supposed to say everything she sees?", I murmured but she heard it and gave me a frown.

"I mean, that was all I could do to help since there was no one available at that time", I corrected myself before getting scolded.

"I can tell he's really special to you. Anyways since it's already late, have supper before you go in to take your bath then you can have some sleep after that", she said and I didn't object since I was feeling the hunger.

I ate my meal in utmost silence since the house seemed empty without Jennie to talk and Ana had also gone to her room. I finished my food and went to take my bath since test week wasn't over yet. The thought of Ryan not being able to continue the test struck me while in my bathtub.

"What will happen to his grades if he doesn't take the rest of the test?", I questioned myself. "I'm sure he would be fine since he's not an ordinary student and it's not his fault he couldn't write", I found an answer to my own question.

I wiped myself after getting out of the bathtub and began drying my hair when my phone began to ring. It was Jennie calling.

"Hey what's up?", I asked immediately I answered the call.

"Ryan is awake", she said and her voice sounded so good meaning it wasn't one of her jokes but I had to be sure first.

"Are you being serious?"

"Why would I lie to you? We are with him now", she answered.

"OMG. I'm on my way", I told her and hanged up. I was really happy he had finally regained consciousness. I wore a fluffy trouser and a blue t-shirt , spoke to Ana about the good news then headed straight to the hospital.

Ryan was smiling happily with Ryder and Jennie when I got there. I couldn't control the happiness I was feeling inside me and ran to hug him.

"Ouch ouch", he winced in pain.

"Ooops, I'm sorry. I'm just too excited", I said leaving him.

"You don't have to be since you saved your future husband's life ", he smirked.

I didn't know how to react after hearing those words coming from him. There was one thing for sure, it's either those two lovebirds told him about the consent documents or he was talking about how I brought him to the hospital. I turned to look at Jennie and Ryder but the avoided my eyes meaning they sold me out.

"Can you guys please excuse us? I need to talk to Mrs Parker", he said and Jennie and Ryder made their way out. I decided to follow them since he wanted to talk to the unknown Mrs Parker.

"And where do you think you are going?", he asked making me stop.

"I'm excusing you since you wanted to talk to someone else", I replied innocently.

"Ain't you my fiancé? You are the one I want to talk to", he said and I was dumbfounded. He was really teasing me for how I saved his life but I didn't mind since all I wanted was to know how he was doing. I returned to stand by his bedside but he asked me to sit which I did without complaining.

"Why did you do that?", was the first question he asked when I sat.
