Chapter 39

We started our serious studies fully concentrated till I started feeling sleepy. I don't really stay up studying so I was struggling with it somehow but I had to cope with it if I really want to do well in my exams. I turned to look at the two lovebirds who were also having their serious studies and found something amazing. Because we were all learning on our own so I didn't bother to turn my attention to them but what I found this time was really awesome and touching. They were both asleep in the process of studies and the position of the sleep marveled me. Their heads were on the table together and their faces almost touching each other's. I was focused on them and didn't realize Keenan was staring at me. He gently tapped my shoulder to bring me back to the real world.

"Are you alright?", he asked after tapping me on the shoulder.

"Yeah… I'm fine", I replied with a smile.

""You sure?"

"Yeah….just happy both of them are together now", I said sincerely. Even though they haven't said anything yet, I feel my heart is at peace seeing them like that.

"Yeah, that's right ", he agreed with me. " but don't you think you also have to start your life with someone?", he continued.

I really didn't see that coming . I never thought he would want to talk about me or what I decide to do with my life out of the blue but he just did which got me confused. I wasn't ready to talk about that so I just decided to change the topic.

"Urhm…, I think we are tired, let's end today's studies here and continue tomorrow ", I suggested trying to get him to talk about studies which really worked out.

"Okay, …I'd wake Ryder up so that we can leave", he said and without waiting for my response he started tapping him.

"Wait.", I stopped him from waking him up. I don't know why I did that but I thought I had some curiosity to satisfy.

"What is it Ash?", he questioned. I felt like my heart had stopped beating for a moment when he mentioned my name. As far as I remember, I never heard my name coming out of his mouth before and why I was having that feeling, I can't tell. I just wanted to be so sure about the grudge between him and Ryan even though Jennie already told me about it, I felt there was something she was hiding or perhaps not hiding but she also didn't know about it.

"Urhm…, I just wanted to ask you about something personal if you don't mind", I said feeling a little hesitant.

"Very personal you say?", he asked rolling his eyes.

"Oh, I won't force you if you don't want to answer…, it's just that I'm curious", I tried to be considerate.

"Okay then, you can ask but I can't assure you I'd answer it", he said coldly. I don't know why or how he's able to switch his personality from being cold to warm within seconds but that wasn't my concern.

"Okay…, urhm … it's about the relationship between you and Ryan ".
