Episode 1 - As a Friends (4)

In the morning, the people in this mansion are very busy once moving the big luggage to the horse carriage and a woman is standing in front of the big door with her red eyes focused on looking at the blue sky. The wind blew away her black hair, making everyone around stunned at the sight because of her graceful appearance.

Vanessa, the woman gave a deep sigh and then turned her head as someone called her name. "You're up early this morning."

"Good morning, Your Highness." 

Victor headed toward her in his official uniform.

"Are you okay?"

He was worried about her. Because she just stared ahead into the mansion. Her gaze constantly leads to a big house without stopping.

She said, "Ten years and now it's over. We can finally rest after ten years." 

During that time is running very fast for us. I don't feel sad about this because everything will happen. It's just, I just can't believe the last day to be here is giving me bad memory. I hate it.

"Where's that girl? She is not with you?"

Victor didn't have a chance to answer my question due busy with those servants. So he answered without looking at my face.

"I entrust it to one of the head servants."

Yes?

"Did she not come with us to the capital? Don't you want to take care of her by yourself?" Vanessa asked again.

"No, because of today...I want to spend time with you."

That annoying smile. Lately, you often spend time together and even sleep with her. Now you want to spend time with me? You do that with purpose, right? Suspicious!

"Your Highness and Young Lady, the horse carriage is ready."

A knight who says so, Victor was giving out his hand towards her and leads Vanessa to get into a carriage. The main gate that looks ordinary suddenly appeared as a magic circle. Their horse carriage goes into that magic circle or magic portal.

And for the last time, she takes a look at the mansion from behind her window. When she sees that mansion. Her eyes are fixed on the big window. There is someone is standing there staring at them with a very sharp gaze. She wants to see it again and make sure about what she sees. However, it was too late. That house has disappeared from her sight. 

"Is there anything weird? Your face is..."

What was that? That gaze? I had never seen a gaze like that? Could it be...

"Vanessa?!"

"Ah...Yes."

She woke up from her reverie and she was surprised by his worried face.

"Are you alright?"

Why he's face look so worried too much?

"I'm fine...sorry for..."

"It's okay, at least you're fine, and please Vanessa...If you have something that bothered your mind. Just tell me, okay?"

Victor?

She avoid the red eyes of him because don't want to see his face, said to convince. "Yes, Victor. I will."

When Vanessa looks out the window again. It's already full of vampires people who call their names while throwing any kind of flowers. The knights are also lined up neatly so make the crowd doesn't approach closer to the horse carriage.

All of them, the citizens of the vampire's empire felt so happy to see their honored knights. Vanessa waved her hand to them and so do Victor. 

When they get there the horse carriage stopped. Someone from the outside opened the door of the horse carriage and Victor come out first, the cheers from citizens began to make our ears hurt.

Especially the women who like him so much.

"Your hand, Young Lady." 

Victor who leads Vanessa out of the horse carriage makes everyone fall silent and then blown away. Vanessa's smile on her pretty face has made all men cheer her name many times.

"Geez."

Vanessa and Victor went up the big stairs and were surprised. The leader of each country gathered to welcome them.

They give respect to all leaders. "We back, Your Majesty the Emperor."

Victor's stepfather, the leader of the Vampire nation, the emperor.

"Welcome, 7th Prince and My Granddaughter."

This man is also my grandfather.

"Thank you, father."

"It is the greatest pleasure, Granpa."

By the time, the welcoming ceremony this morning is ended and the main ceremony will be held in the main palace. The Emperor has prepared a grand banquet for his gratitude.

He doesn't have to do that. However, we must too.

The whole hall banquet was filled by the nobles of various countries. One by one, they talk about the honored knights' last fight. Vanessa and Victor's. The great intelligence, or achievements of Vanessa and Victor has been written in history. 

"You look gorgeous with that dress."

Vanessa comes in a red-black dress, her long black hair straight.

The lady is beautiful to view.

"It's been a long time since I don't wear a dress like this."

During the ten years of this, I just wear my knight uniform for easy moving.

"But you look so stunning. My niece is..."

Vanessa pinches his cheeks, "Stop it! We're the same age." 

"Haha."

This is indeed strange to hear. Because vampires have a very long lifespan.

So handsome guys or young to be here, actually it was too old.

"It's time for you to enter the room. Please get ready because your highness's name will be announced." A man said while giving a bow.

Victor replied, "Of course, thank you."

I haven't come to a party like this. My father and all princes gotta be there. Still, my uncle treated me like a child? What should I do next?

"What do you think my brother's?" Victor raised a question.

"All those uncles must treat me like a child as always they do to me every time."

I'm feeling weird once meet them.

"They also treat me like that because I was their little brother. Remember when we were kids?" Victor said with a sigh.

"You mean that?"

"Yes, I'm too tired to meet with my brothers."

He even shakes his head because of the behavior. Thankfully, our uncle was always there for us. They would give anything so we are happy. If I'm not mistaken, Victor's dragon is a present from the 3rd and 4th Prince. They caught that when Victor was 15 years old. I was also surprised to see his dragon gift.

"But even though I have no blood relations with the imperial family and the Emperor adopted child. They treat me so well."

His face is fulfilled with a smile of warmth, making me happy.

"You deserve to get attention like that from my uncle, my father, and grandfather. You're a child of the Emperor and the 7th Prince. As your niece, I'm happy to have an uncle like you. Even though I consider you as a friend, hehe."

Vanessa embraces his hands with a face full of joy. Along with the big doors open, Victor whispered in her ear.

"Yes, as a friend. Thank you, Vanessa."

"...You're welcome, Your Highness."

Big doors in front of them are open. They both walk together and at the same times, someone announces their name.

"Your Highness the 7th Prince, Victor. Young Lady, the Daughter of the Grand Duke and the 2nd Prince, Princess Vanessa."
