Demi God

"I know right?" She said, with her dimples on full display.

I felt like grabbing her face and kissing her all over, but I knew better than to do that.

"I don't like the rags you're putting on, we need to find a stream so you could wash up and have a change of clothes" she said again, while sizing me up.

"Okay... So which way leads to the nearest stream" I asked in excitement, because after washing up... she'll probably give me dope clothes.

"How would I know that, I told you that I've suppressed my abilities to the human level... No exceptions for you" she said while staring at me.

I was trying hard to not stare back, but my eyes kept locking with her's every now and then.

"Why would you even do that? I mean... Why are you here?" I asked, trying to sound as respectful as I could.

"I already told you that" she replied, with a creased brow.

"I don't think you did... Could you remind me?" I countered tactfully.

"Are you calling me a liar human...?" She asked, while squinting her eyes at me.

"N-no, I never said that... I probably don't remember because my intelligence stat is too low" I chuckled dryly while sweating bullets.

"That must probably be the case then... Let's go... After you" she said with a killer gaze.

"A-are you going to t-thrash me again?" I asked, while wiping my sweats repeatedly.

"Why are you sweating?... I prefer fierce men" she rolled her eyes and took the lead.

"I'm still eighteen you know? Just a kid" I said, protecting pride.

"Did you say something...?" She turned to glare at me.

"I-i was talking to myself" I quickly replied.

"That better be the case" she turned back, and kept walking.

She was really good at threatening...

We walked out of the cave and into a thick forest which had tall trees with wide branches, the plant's were nothing less than a waist length and were all looking wild, I could even see a mushroom which bigger than I was in both height and width.

I felt insulted.

"So... Which way should we go" the goddess asked, with her head tilting around like she had never seen such a place before.

"Uhmm... We should go against the wind to avoid unnecessary troubles... And that is... North" I replied with a self appreciative smile.

"Okay, with that being decided... We head south" she said and started heading south.

"Wait.. what?... I said north not south" I was confused.

"I heard you loud and clear... It's either you're with me, or you find your way" she said without pausing her steps.

"Okay then, thanks for the food" I said and started heading north.

"Hey!! What are you doing?" It was her turn to be confused.

"You said it's either I'm with you or I find my way, so i chose the second option" I said without pausing my step.

"Hey!! Get back here!! Why would you choose to go alone?" she asked in surprise, and chased after me.

"To regain my freedom of course" I stated like it was an obvious reason.

"But you have your freedom, I didn't make you my human servant" she asked, as she caught up to me.

"If you want us to be partners in crime... Or survival, then we have to always come to an agreement regarding thing's we don't agree on. We'll have to respect each other decisions, we'll have to understand each other feelings... Uhh... Way of doing things, we'll have to work together. And that's not what's going on here, you are clearly bullying me and going against my decisions... That's why I have no freedom with you, it'd be better if I should survive on my own like I always did, and if I die, I'll know that I died trying my best and due my decisions!!!" I was already panting after I was done, I really spoke my heart's out... And it felt good.

I no longer cared if she would thrash me, if the spectators were all inconsiderate like this. Then I really wish they remained locked up for all I care.

[You have obtained the title 'Demi God' for being sincere with your feelings towards a Goddess, regardless of the consequence]

'Huh! Yeah, I really deserve it.' I suddenly felt like my life force have been filled to the brim, I was feeling more alive and energetic.

******

Demi God: ×3 life-force.

*******

'Cool' on seeing the effects, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Now I wouldn't be worried about using the book often because with each level up, I get a fifty extra life-force... But with this title, I'd now be getting a hundred and fifty extra life-force with each level up.

I finally looked up to see the goddess scrutinizing me, like I was a product on sale.

"You do know that what you just said is punishable by death right?" She said with a smirk.

"Then I would be happy to die than be a man servant" I countered fearlessly.

My words flipped the goddess imagination as she never expected such a reply. It's not like I wasn't scared or something like that... But, I wanted to leave a life of adventure in this game-like world, and I wouldn't be able to do that by getting bossed around by a goddess in a human skin.

"Fine! You can find your way..." she said and stomped out.

I continued my way north, having to divert sometimes to avoid creatures like a mosquito I saw earlier, which was the size of a matured goat, hovering around in search of a prey.

I haven't been detected by any beast so far, simply because I was walking against the wind, so they wouldn't be able to perceive my scent. I was starting to hear frequent beasts cries as it was already dark, so I decided to start using my skill 'Blindfold' to be on the safe side.

But when I activated it, I noticed that I was being tailed by a person at a safe distance, so I began to run as fast as my legs could go but also noticed that the person began to run after me at the same pace.
