Chapter 640 - Between a Crown and a Cage
As Broken and Aerin walked farther from the watchful gaze of the elven knights, they finally reached a point where they felt sufficiently out of sight.
In one swift motion, Broken grabbed Aerin's arm, and before she could react, the two of them disappeared into the Unseen Universe of Moonlight.
"Broken," she said as they stepped into the pocket dimension. "I thought we agreed not to use this pocket dimension for a while."
"Listen, Aerin. I need to explain some things to you."
"What's going on?"
"The exit of the cave is sealed. I don't know why, but what's clear is that we weren't informed about this beforehand. That alone raises questions."
Aerin's expression shifted. "You think this was deliberate?"
"I don't know," Broken admitted. "But it's suspicious, and I don't trust the situation. We need to figure out what's really going on… Without the knights eavesdropping or interfering."
"They never discussed this with me."
