"I'm sorry but I thought you just said I'm the new Heir to this clan.." a mumble as I shake my head, "that's exactly what I said you my son are the new Heir!." My father repeated

"Ehh....?" Shock washed over my face

"You would do a better job than me anyways and both your mother and I will be on the southern continent for the next few years.... just exploring.." As the pressure from my mother pressed on my father again. "Well you need to go see your grandfather and prepare for your little girlfriend to come back." As he finished talking he and mother left the room in a hurry, I was left along in the great hall.. not wanting to wait around I made my way to my grandfather's study, the doors already open as his grandfather is sitting in the room with a sword resting on the table.

"Grandfather my father told me he tossed aside his role as this clans Heir his reasoning was exploring the southern continent.. why has he done this?" I exclaimed

"Fei'er your father is doing more than just exploring your mother and him are defending peace as well as moving aside for the better individual to take is pace as Heir, that person is you Fei, you are the future of this clan. I name you Fei Tianlong as the Heir to the Azure Dragon but worry not because I will refrain from announcing thus news to the other clans and rest of the world until you form your beast core completely."

As I hear him speak I feel a heavy weight bearing down on me.. but as he finished his speech the weight lightened.. did I accept this responsibility at this moment?

"Grandfather I... I accept this charge.. but I feel like something will go wrong.. I don't quite know how to explain it, it's like I just know."

Silence enveloped the room until Grandfather chuckled, "There has been some instances where descendants of divine beasts could develop a sixth sense of sorts. Indeed something is happening but don't let this bother you, let the older generation take care of this matter. When Xiao'er arrived you should take her down the valley to Violet Cloud city for a date."

"D..date? Wh..at? she wouldn't want too.. that meat head only thinks about training there is no way she would agree..."

"Xiao'er is still a girl I'm sure you two could find something to enjoy, plus with that display as defended her honorably earlier I'm sure she would agree to go with you if you asked" as grandpa chuckled

"O..okay I'll ask her." As a small blush grew on my face, I then bow to my grandfather and leave the room and rushed threw the mansion to keep my mind busy until Xiao returns.

Little under an hour later and a servant interrupts my meditations.. or attempts at meditating. Unfortunately my mind was too clouded with today's events.

"Greetings young master but you ordered me to I form you when Young miss Baili returned, currently the other servants are helping her set her abode up for use, if you follow me I can escort you to her."

I nod and follow the servant

After arriving at the at Xiao's abode I knock on her door slightly nervously. After a few moments the door swings open and she appears her silk white hair waving in the breeze, her silvery eyes look as if she can see through me.

"Have you settled in well?" I ask

"Mm yeah I just finished in fact.. I'm happy ill be seeing more of you Fei." Her cheeks with a tinge of red upon them. A breeze passes through us and upon passing Xiao Baili I pick up a foreign but familiar scent the scent of blood. I made a mental note to ask about it later.

I cleared my throat, "Hey.. since you are all settled want to go on a date with me to Violet Cloud city?" I asked her while my eyes looked to the side

"A date!?" She exclaimed "I mean I'd love to go on a date with you Fei!" As she lunged at me nearly making me fall over, she wrapped her arms around me and I did the same as she spoke again, "Thank you for standing up for me earlier... thank you for not abandoning me.."

I held her for a moment before the embrace was broken as we looked into each other's eyes it was like nothing else in thr world mattered as I spoke, "Nothing could make me willingly leave your side, Nothing could make me abandon you no matter what the reason is.. I won't pry or make you tell me but I'll always listen to your problems." Tears in her beautiful silvery eyes welled up as she nodded, the moment felt like it lasted forever until a servant coughed breaking our focus on each other.

"Um Young master and Young miss the teleportation array is ready for the trip to Violet Cloud city."

Still smiling I took Xiao Baili hand as her face was still beet red we made out way to the teleportation array.
