Ch.33 Troll Toll

(Alaric's Pov)

My head was killing me last night. I was drinking with Lucas and Damon and we drank a little too much that night. Well, Lucas, more than us, if he was human he would have died from alcohol poisoning. We tried to stop him but weren't that successful.

I wasn't drinking like that, because tomorrow was the first day as the new Principal, can't say that both of them didn't try and force me, Damon was a wreck. I had to drive him home, Lucas flew away even before I could drag him in the car.

I was in the Mystic Falls High School, home of the timberwolves, so many memories, ah I feel nostalgic. I was walking towards my office when I heard "Well, you're in luck. I'm new too but I'm pretty sure that's him right behind you." I saw Hope, she was out of the pit.

But I knew if I recognised her she may try and run away so I simply smiled and said "Hi. I'm Principal Saltzman. Who are you?"

She panicked and said "Hope... Hope Ma-rshall. Hope Marshal." She can't even think of a good name, Hope Marshall? come on.

I then smiled and said, "Let's talk into my office."

We then walked inside and I let her in first and then I got in and then I locked the door and She looked at me and asked: "Why did you lock the door?"

I said, "So that you don't try to run...Hope Mickelson."

She looked confused but then nodded and asked "Lucas?"

I nodded and said "Yes, Lucas! Why didn't you come to me? Why are you not at the Salvatore School?"

She then walked up to me and hugged me, she started to cry and I Brushed her hair and said "It will be alright, I am here. How did you come back and why are you here?"

She then told me how she came back and everything but I was still confused as to why she was here and I asked "I get all of that but what I don't get is why are you still here?" I then thought about it and asked "Is it about Landon?"

She wanted to say something but I said "You don't have to worry about that. I mean sure he is popular now, but you can win him back, you just have to try."

She stopped me and looked down and was playing with her nails and said "It's not about Landon."

I then asked "So what is it about? I mean you are out of Malivoire, you should be there, with your friends, imagine how happy they would be, imagine how happy Lucas will be."

She didn't say anything, I then lifted her face and she had tears in her eyes and asked "What is it why can't you tell me the reason? Why is it that you don't want to go?"

She said, "I don't know what to do." She then told me everything, and I liked that she trusted me but I was enraged with Lucas and she looked at me and I said, "I am not mad at you, I am not, I am mad at that piece of garbage."

She said "It wasn't his fault he was drunk and... what am I supposed to do? I can't be near him." She then started to sob

I then said, "You all need to sit down and talk, then Josie can stab Lucas with the blade and then you both can move on..."

She then looked at me and still sobbed.

(Lucas's Pov)

"*Achoo" I was sitting in the magical biology class with Josie, and I was sneezing a lot.

Josie then asked, "Did you catch a cold?"

I said, "Not possible, even though I am a lightweight drinker, I should be immune to all the diseases. I think maybe someone is remembering me?"

Josie then smiled and said, "So do you have plans for tonight?"

I scratched my head and said, "I don't think so, not that I will remember, last night is a blank."

She then smiled and said, "Good then we are going to Mystic Grill for a dinner date."

I then smiled and said, "Oh, okay."

She then looked at me and asked "Why, do you not want to go with me?"

I sighed and said, "No, no, I want to go with you."

She looked at me and said, "But you sounded a bit down."

I said, "Oh, yeah no, it is nothing. I am fine, we will go to the Grill and have a nice time."

She then looked at me and asked, "Are you sure? We can just order food if you want?"

I gave her a reassuring smile and said, "It's nothing, I am fine Josie."

Then the headmaster said, "Mr Clarke, is there something you would like to share with the class?"

I said, "No, sir."

He then gave a condescending smile and asked "So, when I question you. You are supposed to get up and answer the question. Do you understand?"

I then got up and said, "No, sir." Some of the students laughed.

He then smiled and said, "So, now that we have your attention Mr Clarke can you tell me what we have been discussing until now?"

I said, "We have been discussing the origins of all the other species that have come to light, like Dragon, Demons and Fairies." All of them were surprised they thought that I wasn't listening.

He then gritted his teeth and smiled and asked "So, as I have been asking most of them, what do you think about the origin of these species?"

I nonchalantly said, "I think that most of them have been created by God and his angels." Some people laughed at it, and I didn't understand why? I mean all of you are vampires, witches and werewolves.

He then laughed and said, "That is your explanation, God?"

I smirked and asked, "Why? You don't believe in God?"

He smiled and said, "Well, Mr Clarke this class is not about faith, it is about facts, and clearly you have made it about faith, so you can sit down and try to be quiet. Others are actually trying to learn something here."

I then gave him a stiff smile and said, "Yes, sir..." I then sat down and I looked at Josie like I would imagine if I told everyone.

After the class was done, we walked outside and I said "So I am going to go and take a shower. And after that, we can go to the Grill."

She then nodded and I kissed her and went to take a shower, on my way I decided to call, Prof. Saltzman. He picked up the phone and said "Hey, Lucas, I am a bit busy right now, so I will call you later."

I said "Alright, then… '' and then I remembered and said, "And Prof. we need to discuss how to save Hope from Malivoire, Dad said something about the flaming sword, so I am thinking that we should test it sometime."

He then said, "Lucas, I am busy right now, I will call you later." He then hung up the phone, but he wasn't like his usual self, maybe it's because of the drinking.

(Evening 7 pm)

After taking a shower we got ready for the date, Josie specifically told me not to wear a suit. I had to comply because I would look out of place, so I just wore a simple blue cotton shirt with blue jeans and a pair of black sneakers. I was mostly dressed as a normal Jim.

I then went downstairs and found Josie. She was wearing a yellow summer dress and had a black headband and had open hair. She was wearing normal makeup, nothing that flashy.

I then walked up to her and asked her "How do I look?"

She then smiled and said "You look handsome, even without a suit. Though I prefer you without anything~"

I smiled and said "Well, I can say that the feeling is mutual.~" I then kissed her and asked, "So what are we talking about?"

She smiled and said "Let's take the bike~"

And I was a bit surprised and said "Oh, daring today are we, Little Witch~"

She then chuckled and I went to get my bike. I got on my bike and rode it to the front of the door and gave her the helmet and then she hopped on and I said "Hold on tight." I revved the engine and rode it to the town.

The whole ride she was glued to me and I rode faster just to make her be a little more scared, we reached the Grill, she got off and looked a bit shocked and before she could say anything I just kissed her and she said: "This will not work every time."

I winked and then she chuckled and pulled me and kissed me and then we went inside. And the place was alive, we sat at a table and ordered some drinks and appetisers. We were having a good time.

(Hope's Pov)

After telling Ric about Lucas, I felt a bit light but I still didn't know what to do. I couldn't attend the Salvatore School. So Ric told me to stay for now so that he could come up with something, but in the meantime, we were looking for the dead Troll.

I mean, we killed it and it still walked away somehow. I mean how did it happen? It should not be that hard to kill this thing. Then I found it in the Park, it was heading toward the school, I then tried to stop him "Icaeus." and it was knocked back a couple of feet.

But it was still not going down easy, it got up like it was nothing, I then tried to punch him, but it did nothing to him. It then swung his hand at me and swatted me like I was a fly, before I could even use a spell it grabbed me by my face.

But then I hear Lucas's voice "Hey, Hillbilly how about you let her go?"

Then something happened and I was dropped to the ground but its smelly hand was still on my face, and I heard "Lucas, remove that hand, I am not touching it."

He said "Yeah ok."

He was then about to remove the hand and I used a spell to morph my face completely. He then removed the Hand and smiled and said "Are you okay Miss?"

I nodded and he gave me his hand and I got up. Ric also came and he said, "Prof. If you were fighting something like this you should have called, I could have helped you."

Ric then looked at the Troll and his head was torn apart. Ric then said, "What are you two even doing here?"

Josie then said, "Before that, who is she dad?"

He then said, "She is Bonnie Marshal, she is just caught up in it."

I then smiled and said nothing. Lucas then said, "So… Do we erase her memories or something?"

Ric said, "Oh, don't worry about that, I will take care of it, you guys just go to school now it is late."

Lucas said "Alright then, guess I will see you soon, and to you Miss Marshal, I hope we could meet again in a different circumstance. Bye."

I smiled and said "Bye." Josie just waved and then they got on the bike and rode away."

I then said, "That was a close one."

Ric then said "Are you okay? How did you change your face?"

I said "Aunt Freya, taught me this, it is a very crude spell. Takes a lot of magic."

(Night)

After killing that troll or whatever it was, we went home, the night was done, but still, we had some good time, we drank, played a bit of pool, well, Josie played I just sucked at it. It was not my game. After the date, we then changed into our nighttime clothes.

Yes, Josie has also become like me, a tank top and shorts, optimal sleepwear, after a bit of nighttime activity, we then went to sleep, because Josie was a bit tired. So we just slept but then something happened that had not happened to me in some time.

Hello, guys, I need to talk to you, recently I have this feeling that you guys didn't really like the Lucifer arc and it had changed Lucas, in many ways that aren't that good and I also feel that way. That is why I am doing like a Soft reboot of the series.

The things that will be changed:-

1. A bit of a personality change for Lucas, I felt that I didn't get Lucas to fully embrace the celestial side of him in the first half. In the soft reboot after his mother's death, he will turn off humanity.

2. His powers will be tweaked a bit.

3. The relationship between Josie and Lucas will also be changed, they will not become a thing until later.

4. And I am thinking of tweaking the Lucifer arc to be as less time consuming as possible and more interesting.
