"Why didn't we take the elevator?" I asked wiping a sweat off my head as we clambered the last flight of stairs of the underground storey building
"Oh, I wouldn't want to forgo my life for an elevator"
He was also sodden in sweat
I stopped for a while to find the origin of an emancipating foul smell. I finally realised the shirt smelled to high heaven
"What the hell do these people do with their clothes, this smells like a dead tuna fish."
He laughed at me statement and continued walking
"Finally" he said as we arrived the top
The complexity of the building was striking. It had 3 floors underground and the top building was designed to resemble a gymnasium
"This is really big, woah" I said staring at the building mouth agape
"This shouldn't be something new for kids your kind, I mean you're practically luxury itself, your father owns...."
"Let's not go to what my father owns, we are practically in the middle of an escape plan, people could walk in anytime"
I smiled at his childishness. He looked shocked and I didn't quite know why"
I poked him slightly jerking him. We finally made an attempt to move before we heard footsteps right behind us
"Don't move, if you do, we'd have to shoot"
It was an army of roughly 10 men, they were armed to the teeth
I felt my legs turn to jelly
"German my foot" one of the men sneered loudly
"We can get through this, just watch me" Micheal shoved lightly amidst murmuring
"How are we supposed to do that" it felt impossible
We were bantering like kids while the men seemed highly irate
"Shut the f**k up, would you!!" One said rolling his eyes
"Do something this instant" I was out of ideas
"Why don't you do something?!" He asked blankly
I hesitated for a while before falling down
"Oh.... My legs, they hurt so much, please help me, anybody"
The guard from earlier laughed horrifyingly as he stood in a funny position
"Lady, we ain't falling for this gimmick again" he seemed Polish
I finally stood up when no one listened to me
Micheal nudged me while the other men stood waiting for our next move. They seemed impatient
"They aren't gonna try shooting you, so on my count we're gonna run"
"That plan doesn't quite sound logical. Not even to my pinky, how can my brain comprehend something like this?"
"Could you think of something better?" He asked sarcastically
"How about we run.... Now"
We made a run for it, leaving the army dazed for a minute
"They are getting away!"
We kept running in no particular guidance, i couldn't even comprehend my speed then till we lost track of them
The pace stepped up and finally got out
It seemed like a dead end, I sat on one of the tree roots, too tired from walking. I could barely lift a finger
"How much longer?"
"Well, it sure looks like a dead end but I'm sure we are getting out"
"I thought you had this planned out? Why the hell is any of this happening?"
"This obviously isn't part of the plan, we got lost and we've got to find our way out"
"Now I feel like I am in one of those horrid movies were the guy gets eaten by a crocodile in the woods and the girl has to die a year later from hunger"
I picked a stick and aimed in no direction
Micheal looked hard at me as if trying to study my face. He looked confused as he tried to comprehend my previous statement
"Why does the dude have to die first and so miserably?"
I got up and then started walking. I hesitated for a short period before turning to look at him
"The ladies need to be famous heroines, the current trend is worn out with heroes"
"Well I disagree" he said walking towards me
"Well I couldn't care less. Get us out of here and maybe, just maybe I could let the hero have all the glory"
He shrugged lightly before we continued moving. We wandered in no direction for 2 more hours
I felt lifeless then and my vision was blurry, I halted by a large tree and leaned on it for support
"Micheal, have you got an inhaler?" I asked stretching my hands to feel him. I could still see him walk towards me though not quite clearly
"What's up" he asked calmly
I couldn't interpret what was wrong with me, I was no doubt asthmatic but this felt stronger. It felt like the drug was even powerful now
I dropped to the ground with a thud, knees first. I saw Micheal who was now in a panic move towards me
I felt my senses deliberately go impassive all over, I could see him talk but couldn't hear a word he said
Everything seemed so small before I blacked out
