Vampire, at your service

"Surge day?" Nicolas asked and looked at Deno's confident face.

"Ah yes! I so love this day, its when the human half of the wolf is so in a struggle with the the animal she becomes fascinating to witness, so if I'm not mistaken Bella would have eventually gotten angry enough and save herself from Wayne... I think"

"How did you know!? Are you some sort of undead wolf!?" Bella asked coming forward with a leer.

Deno grinned "Maybe I shouldn't tell you, the buttons I currently press are working, you're angry, and I want that"

She took another step forward but Nicolas stepped to her "Calm down, he has this tendency to taunt you, just relax"

She glanced at him then back at Deno.

"Who are you?"

Deno held his hands wide "Is there a place where we can talk in private?" He asked looking at Tony.

"That door back there" he said pointing past him.

Deno wove a hand and entered the room dragging Wayne with him, Nicolas, Bella and Tony were the only ones who followed and after Tony closed the door Deno popped his knuckles.

"This world my dear wolf is full of surprises, and I'm one of them" he said taking a bow "Vampire, at your service"

"Vampire!?" She said with a shriek "But mother never said anything of you! She only told me stories!"

"Yes yes, the humans love stories about us don't they wolf? Scary spooky sometimes ridiculous stories but unfortunately it was the wolves who got busted and not us"

"But that doesn't explain why you know of surge day?" She said.

"I was friends with one or two wolves a while back" Deno said.

"Friends? I thought you hated wolves?" Nicolas asked.

"Yes, I still do, I was planning that time on using those wolves to kill my siblings, but they chickened out unfortunately"

Tony came round staying sharp around this conversation "Chickened out? Why would werewolves chicken out to kill vampires?"

"My family are not your average bloodsuckers human, they're the most powerful, as am I" Deno said and points at Wayne "He is half vampire, that's why you didn't feel the evil come off him as you did from me"

"Why does vampires want me dead?" Bella asked.

"Apart from the fact that we were sworn enemies at one stage, nothing can kill a vampire lord, but you"

"Me?"

"Yes your venom, one bite and it spreads through our veins like a wild fire, ultimately turning us to ash..." He looked at Nicolas "Which is what your boyfriend was tasked to tell you but he got soft"

Bella looked at Nicolas who sank his head "Sorry Bella"

"But, I don't want to fight vampires, I'm afraid"

"Aha! And you should be... Now at least" Deno said.

"Now?"

"I came here to find you so I can teach you how to slay vampires, a few lessons from me and I doubt you'll have anything to worry about"

"Teach me to kill you?" She asked tilting an eyebrow.

He smiled lifting his shoulders "Well my dear wolf, if the task is too much, why not bite your boyfriend and turn him?"

"I.. I can't" she said shocked.

Nicolas though flicked his fingers "No! That's a brilliant idea!"

"Its not that easy! You think if I can just bite a human I'd be the last one alive!?"

Nicolas frowned at her, she bit one of her nails and looked away.

"Its apparently one of the most excruciating experiences to turn into a wolf" Deno said.

"What?"

"So painful in fact you lose your mind, you go crazy, and if you manage to survive that brutal shift you'll be mad like a rabies stricken dog and you'll be no good to anyone, merely a problem animal in need of putting down"

"It can't be that painful!"

"Oh I've seen it..." Deno said and sank his head "Its horrible, the poor girl I witnessed becoming one didn't pull through, she died in the midst of the shift"

"This is so frustrating" Nicolas said brushing his hair.

"But I don't mean you any harm? I never even knew you existed, why now? Why after all these years send someone to kill me? Its not like the humans aren't trying you know?" Bella said.

"They fear if you're not gone there is still the element of death in the air, my brothers and sister are true fiends, they want to take over man kind and be their rulers, and with you still alive they are too afraid to just go for it, fearing you might one day rise to protect the humans from them"

Belladonna smiled "Well, I'll join them if they're up for that! Why the fuck must I have any part in helping humans!? They've been nothing but cruel to me!" She yelled but held her mouth looking at Nicolas "I, I mean"

"No, you have every right to be angry"

"I love your mentality wolf, I couldn't care less what my siblings plan to do with the human race, they are my food after all, why care?"

Tony grunted behind them "Geez give the good ones some slack man"

Deno smiled "Oh don't worry big guy, you're the one who showed sympathy to the werewolf, of course you're not counted among the other sheep"

"Then if you don't care what happens then why are you here?" Bella asked.

"I'm here because of that select few humans that deserves to have a peaceful life, you've seen those on television protesting for your freedom?"

"I, have"

"Why because of some bloodthirsty men do they have to suffer? I think that makes us as inhumane as the rest, we'd be no better than the scum if we are able to do something but don't"

"I see..." She said and looked at Nicolas.

"This has to work, for better of worse, then you two can get married!" Deno said proudly.

"What!? Married!?" She peeped.

"Yes of course! Do you see any werewolf males around? No! And I've smelled your pheromones all over dear Nicolai, you wanted to have sex with him so badly right!? You're a match!"

The two in question stood with red faces.

"Oh come on! You two have had sex before, don't come be all shy now!?"

"That was a quick fling! This is happening too fast!" She shrieked turning away.

Deno smiled "Well, its all just talk at the moment my dear Belladonna..." He said and she looked at him "Dreams, fantasies, small talk, we can only speculate a future of happiness but in reality there lies a very dark cloud over the horizon, and unfortunately my dear pup, you're you're the only wind that can blow that cloud away"

She turned back with worry in her, how it all just suddenly swamped in, first a world renown fugitive now its up to her to prevent disaster.

"You had the compassion to save a child..." Deno said and she looked up "How did that make you feel?"

"Amazing..."

"Then why not show the world the finger and save all of the ungrateful bastards, bet you that will make them feel so damn ashamed of themselves"

She smiled "Are you a priest?"

Deno burst with laugher "I'm a priest's worst fucking nightmare!"

"Oh, well, at least you're not a zombie then"

He flinched "A zombie!?"

"Since you don't have a beating heart?"

"Do I look like a bloody zombie!?"

"Coulda fooled me" she said smirking.

"Oh! The audacity!" He said shocked but Nicolas and Tony was teared with laughter.

She stepped forward and held her hand to Nicolas, he took it "I... Will try..."

"Brave soul, this world needs more people like you" Deno said.

"Although, I am dreadfully afraid" she said looking at her hand clasping his.

"Its okay to be afraid" Nicolas said "It makes you human"
