Chapter 20: War Brewing!!!

Lord Paige Kalliester landed in the abode where the air nation soldiers stays.

He moved as if he were walking on air as he floated to the main tent where battle tactics were discussed.

On entering, he saw two of the top-ranking air nation soldiers, seated and lecturing a group of young soldiers.

When they both noticed him, they immediately felt the wide difference in strength between themselves and Lord Paige Kalliester.

"Assemble the scouts" Lord Paige barked as the air carried his voice and spread it heavily, dangerously impacting those present.

Only the level four generals could withstand it, the lower ones were bleeding from their ears.

"Sonic sound technique!", General 1 muttered to himself in shock. One of the young soldiers with blood dripping from his ear ran to get the scouts.

A while later two young bald men in green robes appeared.

"l need you to go and search for the location of the chosen one, use all your resources in searching for him. We are going to war soon, generals, you also prepare your men, once the scouts return with news of his whereabouts, we will head out".

Lord Paige Kalliester spoke with authority, defying all the generals that were higher than him in rank.

His voice this time was much calmer and not as destructive.

He smirked at the generals who sat with gloomy expressions, they knew that this version of Lord Paige Kalliester would be difficult to handle;

And like that, they became his subordinates.

Lord Paige turned and floated out of the tent and the air pressure that he had brought with him lessened. Suddenly murmurs sparked to life all within the spacious battle tent.

There was chatter from left to right and center.

The soldiers could not believe what they just witnessed.

They know Lord Paige had become more powerful than they last saw, even the generals would not necessarily be his match now.

Lancelot sat with his legs crossed and his head bowed as he meditated. Water and air intertwined underneath him and allowed him to stay afloat.

Fire circulated his upper chest without stopping, while some flying miniature horsemen that he had summoned were revolving around him like a chain.

He closed his eyes as he practiced and practiced.

He had been in that position for days, not eating or drinking and his strength had grown so fast that everyone who noticed it was shocked.

Normally for an average element wielder, it would take at least 10 years to increase by a level, but for him, it took barely 3 months to increase across all board in all the elements he wielded.

With fire as his major element source, he was already in level four control rank, in water element he was in level 2, in Air level 3, and beast level 2.

He had progressed by leaps and bound, such that even Kendra was gladdened by his progress.

She frowned a lot when training him and spoke about how unready he was but in her secluded place of rest, she admired his astonishing rate of development and was impressed deep within.

Cherry was sitting, facing Dice who had been training alongside herself. She had told him she wanted to be stronger, she was edging closer to rank 2 of the fire element control.

She would be the fastest in history other than Lancelot Jr, to advance in a rank within a year compared to the 10 years requirement.

This is all thanks to the teaching method she received from Lancelot. With this wonderful method in play, it might just change the time it takes people to increase elemental rank in the future, provided the methods get used.

A swirling wind floated into the water nation.

This wind floated down till it touched the ground and it turned into a man. The man looked around the water nation and he started to move.

He walked around the camp with his iris completely dull-white, like a raging storm.

He moved towards the sea, searching for any life form.

This creature was created by the virtue of many air elementals combining their strength to form a scout. It was extremely sensitive and better when searching for individuals.

It was their major means of finding enemies and it was not limited by anything, only a powerful opponent could destroy it or stop its function and this, in turn, would affect the summoner, causing a rapid deterioration in energy or even death.

The scout entered the sea and the special illusory condition created by Kendra. He saw so many soldiers lined up and he even saw Kendra calling out orders to small children.

He saw Lancelot in training in a room, while Dice and Cherry were making out in another room.

It turned back and vanished.

All the feedback had been received back at the air nation and naturally, it would all be relayed to Lord Paige Kalliester,

Back at the Air nation

"Kendra is still alive?"

He yelled in amazement. The wind could not fully convey the force of his voice without the destructive capabilities as it came out with booms that caused the scouts around to bleed from their ears.

"We will go to war in three days, prepare the soldiers," Lord Paige said and turned to leave.

Paige Kalliester could not control the state of his heart.

He had been unhappy ever since he lost Kendra and gave her up for power. His pride prevented him from trying to explain himself or seek a second chance.

He just thought to himself, that 'since she had died there was no need to worry over spilled milk', so he just hardened his heart and continued to overcome more nations.

He cared not for the consequences as he prioritized power over anything else. Now on hearing that Kendra was alive, he was indecisive for a few seconds on how to approach the war.

On one hand, he wanted to protect Kendra and apologize to her, on another hand he wanted to kill Lancelot.

But then, he wonders how he should do it successfully without failing at both. He stroked the extended hairs on his chin and thought to himself.

In the end, he just shrugged and floated in the air.

'Maybe we were not meant to be in this lifetime' he muttered to himself.

General 1 looked to the other general, and whispered; "Kalliester has become too powerful, just when did he attain his fourth rank and he is already in the fifth rank, how,

General 3 shook his head as he replied;

"He must have received the support from the air god for the scroll he always wanted and that would have boosted his rank"

General 2 looked with shock as he replied pensively; "You mean the unlimited wind technique? That is the most powerful elemental skill of the air nation, one has to be in level 6 to obtain it naturally"

They both frowned in the realization of the strength of Kalliester before they shook their head.

"We need to lay an ambush and kill this guy along with Lancelot before he becomes too unstoppable for us".

They started to strategize on their own...
