Chapter 44: Mystery Woman

Rakesh walked up to the entrance of C&A Jewelers, Soren not too far behind him. As his hand gripped the door handle, he felt eyes on him and his hair stood on end. He did his best not to turn his head, but checked his peripherals for anyone out of place. His mind immediately suspected that the other members of the Lazarus Collective had shown up.

“Sitting over at the far table at the coffee shop.” Soren muttered, stepping next to him. “She’s got a black hood on, damn near covering her eyes. Not very inconspicuous, if you ask me.”

“You think it’s one of them?”

Soren shook his head slightly. “No, different vibe. The Collective tried to blend in. She’s not trying to hide at all.”

“Almost like she wants me to see her.” Rakesh concurred with a sigh. “For now, that ring is my priority.”

“And I’ll keep my eyes peeled.”
