Chapter 26: The Truth

“Good to know Molly’s still alive.” Josie said quietly as the couple made themselves comfortable on the couch.

“Alive and extremely sassy.” Rakesh answered with a chuckle.

“Yeah, that sounds exactly like Molly.” Josie smirked. “What did she pass on that was so important?”

“She said your old friends had some real diabolical, megalomaniac levels of shit they were plotting and you’re the catalyst.”

Josie fidgeted in her seat. “Me? What do they want with me, except to erase me from existence?”

“That’s not what she told me.” Rakesh shook his head. “They have other plans for you.”

“Other plans?” Josie echoed.

“Yeah.” Rakesh stared at her, almost warily, before he continued. “Josie? Just how powerful are you? Because these people seem to think you’re strong enough to erase every last one of us ‘abominations’ off of the face of the Earth.”
