Chapter 14: A Perfect Evening

Rakesh darted through the town’s local party store like a madman. His mission was a simple one: Find the most romantic looking decorations and lighting he could. He knew he must have looked more than a bit odd to the store’s elderly owners, a couple named Nancy and Ed. He caught glimpses of them chuckling to themselves and heard bits and pieces of their conversations.

“Wonder what the hurry is?” Ed whispered.

“Looks like he has a special evening planned.” Nancy whispered back.

‘You have no idea.’ Rakesh smiled proudly as he finally made it up to the register.

“Whoever this young lady is, Rakesh, she’s definitely in for a treat.” Nancy smiled as she and Ed began scanning and bagging items.

“I hope so.” The lovestruck man sighed. “She’s definitely special to me and I want to make sure I show her.”

“Lucky girl.” Ed winked.
