why do we hope? 5:51pm

as soon as the word about what happened got out. the tree death machines left the whole world in an uproar. no one has ever seen giant military grade robots tearing up civilians.

in fact no one knew that such weapons existed in the first place. until a few weeks ago all countries on earth used the same heavy equipment. shure each one tried to outdo others with better armor or range or speed, but mostly it was the same.

a tank was a tank. a truck was a truck. and a boat was a boat.

nothing like two story robots with guns and rockets have ever been seen or used in combat. up to a few weeks ago when a red one wiped out several battalion with a swap of a hand. and now three more a bit smaller ones ravaged an entire city.

the news hit the world by storm.

mechs were not science fiction anymore! and now nukes were only second worst way to go when it came to threatening someone.

As all the countries drowned at the idea of implementing this type of deterrent into reality. at first they were hopping to get their grubby hands on the red one. witch turned out to be a disaster.

but now that they knew that several more were available they were not as desperate to get one. a more careful approach with lots of planning had to be done. and lucky for them they had the destruction of the city as a way to measure of what it will take to achieve such results.

as they watched hours of footage from every possible video recording device that had captured even a second of what happened. they studied and planed to trap and stop this new menace. then to take it apart so that it can be copied and manufactured.

and in the near future they wanted to use the same power against their enemies.

"Mr president I believe that we need to get our hands on this one at any cost" a grumpy looking man in his fifties with a huge mustache that he kept extremely well kept and clean pushed back the arguments that were aming for the easiest targets. his point was clear and no one else can even dispute it.

the red machine was way more dangerous than a full squad of the other orange ones.

the firepower was way too much to handle!

the speed was still unknown, but the red one moved like it was alive without any kind of feedback.

while the orange ones were more of walking tanks. slow and jurkey. they simply were more easier to capture than the red one.

everyone understood that it would require to declare war against the entire country just so that they can finally bring enough troops and equipment just to stand a chance in capturing the red one.

on the other hand an elite unit of experienced individuals with extra firepower can sneak in and steal the orange one. and destroy the rest in order to eliminate anyone else from getting one.

"I understand what you are saying general, but you are missing the fact that we have no idea where the red one is. while the orange ones literally invited us into their backyard" a tired woman in her forties who was still in her pajamas slumped over the balcony of a major hotel answered him with a smirk.

the group of heavily equipped machines have escaped from the streets by shooting the news helicopter out of the air.

this forced the police to stop the pursuit believing that they were going to kill more people if the police were to try to stop them.

this way the orange mechanical robots left a ruin of the city without any kind of pursuit.
