An Invitation

996 GBC, Rimuru City~

.

A day later Rimuru returned after checking the situation of their enemies. And held a war meeting with the higher ups of the Tempest, discussing their next course of action.

"So it's decided we will destroy the crystals holding the anti-magic barrier."

"Benimaru, let me help too, there are too many enemies."

"It's fine Rimuru-sama and Kal will also be there helping us take down those otherworlders."

"Yes, don't worry with his help, we'll be able to take them down, Rimuru-sama," Geld said agreeing with Benimaru.

"He might be a loose swordsman but even I'm not sure if I can win a prolonged battle with him," Hakurou added, rubbing goatee.

Seeing them not bulging, Rimuru reluctantly accepted.

"Fine… but where is he?" His question made every head snap towards Rei sitting in a corner, causing the teen to subconsciously straighten up.

Rei gulped, feeling the intensity behind their gaze. He nervously spoke. "I don't know where he went, he just said he was going for a sunbath and would return by the time of our counterattack,"

Everyone nodded hearing those words. The did not further questioned Rei despite feeling wierd why Kal went for tanning at such a time. The reason behind of not doing so they did not doubt Kal's words.

If he said he would come then they were damn sure he would. Such was the belief and trust he build in them in such little time.

???'s POV~

.

Deep in the void, she gazed at the floating coil of the mortal named Kal-El. His body slowly drifting toward the ever-burning sphere of inferno.

Bathed in its light, the mortal's coil glowed golden like her dear lord Brother.

A pang of hurt and guilt passed at the remembrance of him.

She ignored those feelings in favour of watching the mortal before her. When she first saw him leaving the influence of the Akashic World she became interested, so much that she repelled the void dwellers and prevented them from feasting on his soul and drinking on his remembrance and joy.

Vile creatures they are but she can't blame Akashic Record for creating them as they are the only reason another intergalactic tyrant hasn't risen since the last one.

Once she repelled those vile creatures, she observed the invader or otherworlder as they call them in these times. What she saw wasn't what she had expected.

She had expected him to explore the never-ending depths of the void, or extravagate rare resources and riches. Even approaching her palace wasn't out of the possibilities she thought.

But… Ascending to what she thinks is godhood wasn't in her expectation.

Seeing his mortal coil devouring the scorching rays of her patron star and evolving to a higher dimension, leaving away his mortality was a fascinating thing.

For the day-long duration he floated in the void, her eyes never left his figure, afraid she would miss his evolution by the speed of his growth.

In mere hours he bridged the gap between a saint and a mortal. The hours followed inched him closer to the peak power of the world.

Just as she thought the otherworlder would stay in the void till he scratched away his mortality or stopped growing, his magnificent blue eyes snapped open as he shot towards the Akashic World multiple times faster than the day prior.

Her mind flashed with thoughts as she watched the receding figure of the mortal, after coming to conclusions, she reached out to him, inviting him to her palace, to her home.

Her voice breached through the void reaching the ears of the otherworlder, making him freeze.

Kal's POV~

.

Drifting in the space wasn't like how I thought it to be, instead of being terrified by the utter silence and darkness. I felt calm and peaceful.

The vastness of the space made all my worries and thoughts look small and insignificant. My problems stopped mattering in the silence of the ever-expanding universe.

My chaotic thoughts and emotions slowly calming as my cells absorbed the radiation of the sun making me feel a rush like never before.

I felt like I was in heaven, no kind of feeling I felt before was worth mentioning to what I'm feeling now.

For a moment I forgot about everything, my thoughts, my problems, my reason for being here, everything. I let go of everything, only feeling the silence of the space and the nourishment of the sunlight.

But like every good thing this one also has to come to an end.

For a moment I thought of not going back and letting myself float like that, slowly reaching the sun and spending the rest of existence in its pleasant, nourishing, warmthful embrace, but the thought of Rimuru counting on me pushed away such thoughts. I know the army attacking Tempest was far bigger than the anime.

The number of otherworlders protecting those Anti-magic barrier crystals also exceeds the original number.

In theory, Tempest should still be able to deal with them but I do not want to leave them on what ifs.

What if those extra otherworlders and army were deployed just because of him? His action in Orario definitely reached every corner of this continent. Destroying an anti-magic barrier and injuring multiple S-rank Adventurers with pure strength and no Magicules uses definitely attracted attention.

Now I think the number of people who died in Tempest also increased from the original, but I'm not sure whether it's due to a bigger number of people residing in Tempest or due to the butterfly effect of my involvement.

The four fictional worlds I recognised in this Amalgamation world don't follow their plots exactly like their original shows.

Like Overlord, in the Anime Ainz was supposed to take over E-Rantal after allying with Baharuth and not after taking down the underground organisation.

Same thing with the plot of Asoiaf, but let's think about that later and head back to Tempest first.

I opened my eyes and without waiting any longer flew towards the Akashic World, pushing my speed to its new limits but I suddenly halted as a sweet, melodious yet majestic voice reached my ears uncaring the trembling vacuum of the space.

"Oh, Recident of another land. Thou hast been invited to grace thine presence in Ranni's Palace." The beautiful voice said as an image of a blue-skinned woman formed in my head.
