Chapter 108 Strong Sarutobi

Konoha, Uchiha District.

Uchiha Training Ground.

HA! HA!

"I'm tired already… how can I become a great shinobi like grandfather like this?" Murmured the four-year-old Shisui while panting and gasping for breath, hands on his knees and sweat running down his face like water.

Shisui Uchiha, the grandson of Kagami Uchiha who once was a part of the tobirama squad and was feared the most after Sarutobi Hiruzen for his prowess.

And unlike other uchiha, he was loved by everyone in the village as well.

Little Shisui who always heard about his grandfather's deeds from his mother idolized him and wanted to grow up to be like him, someone strong and someone respected throughout the village.

"Huh?"

The will to be like his grandfather despite the exhaustion kept Shisui going as straightening his back he raised the kunai in his hands up but his face changed suddenly when on the shiny surface of the kunai he spotted a reflection of something behind him.

 Swish!

Without turning around Shisui hurled the kunai backward as whizzing through the air it flew towards the corner next to a huge tree and hit the wall, drilling into it a little.

Quickly after attacking Shisui rushed to the corner but his face showing a confused look when he arrived at the corner.

"No one? I'm sure I saw someone" Muttered Shisui looking at the empty corner with the kunai he fired stuck in the wall, finding the current situation kind of bizarre.

But unknown to little Shisui the figure he had witnessed had already left the uchiha district and was on his way towards the senju district, an interesting look on his face.

"He's got potential as expected… but still too young for training… maybe after a year or two he'll be good enough to handle it" Muttered Kazuki with some obvious plans for Shisui easy to be spotted in his eyes.

Next Day.

As the day of jonin vote of confidence came closer, the excitement and restlessness in the village continued to increase and just two days before the vote a sudden big news truly caught the whole village by surprise.

"Princess Tsunade has withdrawn from the vote of confidence"

"The remaining popular candidates White Fang and Blue Storm of Leaf."

No one truly expected a candidate that most expected to win to withdraw suddenly, after surprise all eyes resting on the remaining two most popular candidates.

Uchiha District.

Patriarch Residence.

"Haha! I'm 100% certain princess Tsunade withdrew from the vote because of Kazuki-Kun; this also means he has secured most of the senju vote" Said Fukashi while laughing loudly, joy on his face clear after hearing the latest news in the village.

"His victory is almost certain now" Shared Fugaku his own thoughts as well, a bright smile on his face and his eyes already seeing a bright future of the uchiha.

While the uchiha were celebrating at this news, at the hokage office the elders faced Sarutobi with anxious face and worry obvious in their tones.

Hokage Office.

"Are you really going to hand the village to Kazuki, Hiruzen? We know what danzo did to him what unforgivable and that the village has brought him nothing but pain, still you can't hand him everything out of guilt and pity?"

"If Sakumo or Tsunade become hokage at least we will have certain degree of influence on them but Kazuki; there's no way we can control him or interfere in his decision"

"You have to stop his selection as hokage at any cost, Hiruzen!"

Said both the elders what they had in their minds out loud to Sarutobi, with their foresight they could already see themselves getting kicked out of the hokage building the day Kazuki becomes hokage.

Whether it was Tsunade or Sakumo both of them were weaker then Sarutobi in strength so they had confidence of interfering in their decision due to that but Kazuki, the rumors of him having surpassed Sarutobi were everywhere and even Sarutobi himself wasn't sure of winning in a fight against Kazuki.

They didn't want to hand over the village to someone uncontrollable like him.

Sarutobi's calm look at their concerns didn't waver one bit and after inhaling a long puff in a leisurely manner, responded gently.

"That day when I was granted the position of hokage by sensei you both were there as well; just due to one act of bravery he chose to believe in me and handed over the village to me; sacrificing his own life for us to escape."

"Yet you want me to be unfair to someone who has done countless such acts of bravery; putting his life on the line numerous times and saving the village numerous times"

"If I hear anything related to rigging the vote from any of you anymore; I won't hesitate from sending you to reunite with danzo."

Saying that Sarutobi gave them a death stare and pointed his hands towards the door, with a terrified face Mitokado and Homura slipping away.

Soon the day of the jonin vote of confidence arrived and all eyes in the village rested on the hokage building.
