Kol Mikaelson-The Wild Original

After being killed by Elena and Jeremy Gilbert, Kol Mikaelson finds himself reborn in a different world—our world. Stripped of his memories, he lives as a human, free to indulge in his passions and desires, just as he always has. For 27 years, Kol thrives in this new existence, his sharp wit and natural charisma carving a path through the mundane. But when his life abruptly ends at 27, Kol awakens back in Mystic Falls, moments after the dagger is pulled from his chest. His memories of centuries as an Original vampire flood back, along with the recollection of his recent mortal life. Though he remains the same unapologetic, pleasure-seeking Kol, his time in our world has given him a fresh perspective—a modern, human lens to view the supernatural games he loves to play. Armed with this newfound understanding, Kol navigates the dangerous waters of Mystic Falls with his usual flair, seeking revenge, revelry, and perhaps a few unexpected opportunities. Unshackled by guilt or doubt, Kol lives as he pleases, but with sharper eyes and an even sharper mind, ready to take on the world—and anyone who dares cross him. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the rewrite I planned. I got stuck with writer's block and didn’t know how to move forward, so it turned out like that previously. Now, let’s get this show on the road! The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and related fandoms do not belong to me. I’m always up for discussion and comments, and I always appreciate constructive criticism. Caroline's POV

As we were drinking, Kol—the one talking to Rebekah—was making jokes and discussing pranks he planned to pull once he got settled. Spotting the crowd around us, he inclined his head and suggested,

"Why don't we get a private lounge, Bekah? This is overcrowded, and I'm sure we'll have guests soon."

At her nod, he called over the bartender, asked for two bottles of rum, a bottle of whiskey, and three glasses for us.

Once seated, Kol began sharing tales of his exploits as a vampire throughout history. One story, in particular, had him grinning mischievously as he described creating a spell that would remove someone's underwear if they passed through a specific boundary. He told it with a flirty smile that, frustratingly, he knew how to pull off all too well.

"Wait, you can do magic?" I asked, caught off guard.

For a brief moment, something flickered in his eyes—rage, longing, or something else entirely. But it vanished quickly as he smiled and said, "I was a warlock before I was turned. I haven't left that particular field of study behind." Then, smoothly changing the subject, he added, "Why don't you tell me about Mystic Falls? I know nothing about recent events."

I launched into a rambling account of my life, starting with how everything started going downhill the moment the Salvatores arrived. I paused briefly as a wave of unease hit me, memories of Damon's particular brand of torment flashing through my mind. Kol's expression turned serious for a moment, but I quickly moved on, recounting how I became a vampire, discovered werewolves, and was kidnapped and tortured by a werewolf pack with Tyler. I explained how we were prepared as sacrifices, how we were saved, and how I helped Tyler afterward.

I told him about my father's return and the torture he inflicted before finishing with how Rebekah began encroaching on the only shred of normalcy I had left. Finally, I admitted my hope that they could leave Elena—and the rest of us—alone.

Kol gave me an amused look.

"Darling, I don't mean to begrudge you, but you do know that a doppelgänger is incredibly attractive to the supernatural, right? She could be used by anyone. The fact that Nik only asked for a blood donation every month is already a very generous deal. Considering the number of times you lot have meddled in his schemes, it's a miracle you're all still alive. Honestly, I'm disappointed in his restraint."

With that, Kol poured whiskey into the empty glass, raised the rum bottle, and stood.

"Coming now: Niklaus "Klaus" Mikaelson—the evil,

the head of the Mikaelson family,

King of vampires, and

The Alpha of werewolves!"

Then, in a deep, amused voice, he added, "The Hybrid."

Right on cue, Klaus entered. My fear and anger surged at the sight of him.

"So, Nik, shall we adopt this introduction for you in the future?" Kol teased.

Rebekah giggled—honest-to-God giggled—like a little girl. Even I found it funny, though Klaus looked thoroughly unimpressed as he glared at Kol.

"Come, Nik, sit down," Kol said with a grin, gesturing to the chair beside him.

Klaus took a sip of whiskey kol looked at him then raking a sip from his bottle

turned towards me with a serious expression.

"Sweetheart," he began, "I understand your feelings, but you should know that baby vampires are the only ones who can truly change in their first decade. It gets harder after that. From what you've told me, you didn't exactly have a proper sire to teach you about vampirism. Why don't you learn from Bekah for a week? Without hostility, of course."

Kol then turned to Rebekah, giving her a look that seemed to say, I have leverage over you.

"Bekah, I'm sure you'll happily provide this training for your best brother and teach her the basics of vampirism and the supernatural."

Rebekah glanced between Klaus and Kol, her expression shifting from anger to a pout.

and then she asked Innocently,

"Do I have to?"

Kol's and Klaus's mouths both twitched in amusement. Klaus opened his mouth to speak, but Kol interrupted in a sickeningly sweet voice,

"Oh, darling, I'm sure you can fulfill this big brother's request."

Rebekah slumped slightly and sighed. "Fine."

"And no need for excessive hostility," Klaus added. "She's already mired in various ways. Just teach her normally and let her draw her own conclusions."

"Why don't you start now?" Kol suggested, raising his glass. "But first, a toast!"

Kol turned to Klaus. "Nik, give me some of your blood for my bottle—and pour some into the glasses."

Klaus raised an eyebrow but complied while contemplating with a deep look, adding his blood while Kol poured whiskey into the glasses.

Lifting his bottle high, Kol declared, "To me, for being undaggered after nearly a century!"

"To my other siblings, with the same wish," Rebekah added.

"And to Niklaus," Kol concluded, his voice tinged with both relief and bitterness, "for finally being free of his curse after a thousand years."

We toasted in solemn silence after drinking and then Kol grinned wickedly with amousemetn in his eyes shooed us off

"Run along, Bekah. Go on, Caroline. We're creatures of the night—it'll be a fun lesson."

This chapter was a pain in the ass to write. I went through about four different drafts before settling on this one because it flows well with the next few chapters. This one really ate up a lot of my time!
