Bloodline Art

Inside his mind space, the mental fragments were slowly fusing with Red's to heal the crack. Red spent his time pondering that single slash of the sword. The sword was branded into his mind and it had left an extremely profound impact on him. That man had been so powerful.

As he was fusing with different fragments, he was subconsciously learning a lot of subconscious knowledge of old man, although it felt like it was on Red's tongue, he couldn't quite completely remember conscious thoughts. He found out that the old man knew who the owner of the scabbard was. "So he was known as the Sword God, it isn't surprising given how powerful his slash was."

Red was more interested in something else about the old man who tried to capture his body. "Blue blood...Blood Legion... why did he say we are distant relatives?"

Within these new memories he found was very jumbled, information about a cult. The Blood Legion was a cult, but it seemed like the information was very obscured, only that the blue blood is somehow related to this Blood Legion. Among the memories he found a cultivation art that the Blood Legion members practiced, called the Bloodline Art.

The Bloodline Art was extremely mysterious and very profound. It was as profound as the Profound Asura Scripture which Red knew was an extremely marvelous existence. From the memory fragments, Red could make out that this Old Man, whose name was Wellingley, had the complete art with him, but he couldn't decipher most of it. Luckily Red had obtained his perfect memory fragment regarding this art so that he could decipher its words.

Before the text of the art there was an explanation written in an ancient human language, which Red knew to read.

"The Bloodline Art is the premier art of the Blood Legion and only those chosen by the true blood can practice it. Unlike other cultivation arts, the Bloodline Art doesn't cultivate the Dantian, but instead it cultivates the blood itself. The Art is written in an esoteric language which can only be read by the chosen of our religion."

After that all the text was in a language that was incomprehensible and one Red had never heard of before. From Wellingley's memories Red could faintly make out that he couldn't read this art and that his understanding of it had come from the teaching of a Chosen in the Blood Legion. When Red found this out, his interest in the art reduced significantly, because he didn't want anything to do with a cult and clearly practicing this art was a sure fire way to become dependent on the Blood Legion if he couldn't understand it itself.

Half heartedly, Red tried to gloss over the incomprehensible text. Yet the moment he did so, an incomparable desire burst through his blood as if thirsty and suddenly Red could feel the meaning of the words and understand them. "Was this an effect of the blue blood?" He wondered.

He kept reading the Bloodline Art. The cultivation levels and categorizations of stages were completely different from any other art he had seen, as well as the manner of practicing it. The Profound Asura Scripture was a very complex art, but it was still conventional in the sense that one cultivated qi in the dantian and slowly transformed their body. However, Bloodline Art solely focused on the blood. In the initial stages the Bloodline Art focused on absorbing blood energy and then energizing the blood. The first few stages of Bloodline Art were Blood Formation, Blood Fortification and Blood Congealing realms. On completing these, one would be equivalent to a peak Foundation Establishment practitioner.

Blood energy was energy that could only be absorbed from blood. The only way to obtain that was through slaughter or through obtaining the blood essence from practitioners and beasts. It was a slaughterer's art and Red suspected that the Blood Legion was a demonic cult.

Without knowing how, as Red was contemplating, the Bloodline Art actually began running on its own. Red could feel that his blood was being energized by some remnant energy that was flowing out from his body. The energy was gushing into each blood cell and energizing them. Red's blood became thicker and thicker and the color of the blood which was red started to get a slight tinge of blue. Red realized that he had already reached Blood Formation realm which surprised him. "Looks like there was a lot of latent blood energy on my body from all the slaughtering I had done on Puratynt B and elsewhere."

The blue tinge in his blood slightly worried him but then the silvery metallic liquid within his body's cells came out and absorbed the blue energy for themselves, leaving his blood as red as could be. He had already finished Blood Formation realm within a few hours which shocked him. This Bloodline Art was extremely easy for him to practice as long as he had blood energy.

After a few more hours of fusing with memory fragments, Red finally felt like he was completely healed. He could finally control his body again, and opened his eyes. Lana and the Asura had been sitting beside him and the cauldron was fawning up to a a completely healed woman who was none other than senior Flame Tribulation.

He heard Flame Tribulation speak up. "He is awake now. He healed up pretty quickly, considering what you described, Cauldron." The Cauldron coughed. He had waxed eloquent earlier how Red was an idiot and would definitely be paralyzed for life and begging Flame Tribulation to help him break off the ownership of this brat.

Lana and the Asura looked at Red as he suddenly sat up and began examining his body. He then touched his face and realized that his mask had been removed. Lana noticed that and laughed. "I wanted to see who was behind that clown mask."

Red coughed. "Un, just don't tell anyone how I look like." Lana laughed and nodded. "Don't worry I won't tell anyone that you look like a naughty person." When Red heard that he was dumbfounded.
