Chapter 7

Joon: 11.30.15

I played with the lighter in my hand as I waited for the meeting of the KLCC to start, KLCC stands for the Korean Language and Culture Club. I've been a member of the Korean Language and Culture Club ever since I got here, well it was more like I was thrown into the club. The club celebrates the Korean culture and language while promoting awareness. It also an organization that provides networking opportunities for students to meet and associate with others that share an appreciation Korean culture. I think the idea of this club is a good thing but if most of the people who join were actually into the culture and not the idols it would be bearable.

This is actually how I met Lee and Hae-In. Hae-In's family ran Suwon and Lee's ran Ansan so when I told them my name they were cool about it until they tried to blackmail me to work for them and in return they wouldn't tell a soul about my whereabouts. I laughed in their faces and told them if I get taken back I would take out their family lines then come back for them, they knew I what I was capable because they've seen my work. I forgot the name they gave me back home but it wasn't that important to begin with, it wasn't the real me. We've been roommates ever since our freshman year and we've actually became good friends. Even though I'm not ready to return to South Korea, I know I will in the future so I help Hae-In and Lee whenever they go on runs. I don't want to be rusty when I return to Buecheon and then be put through that awful training.

I know I could of stop coming after my first year here like they did but I chose to stay so that I can speak in my native tongue freely with others but with the way everything was going now, I don't know if I can stand this anymore. I felt the stare of the other members but ignored it because I knew what it was about. It's been a week since it got out about Yandy and me being 'together' and I've noticed I've been getting stared at more than usual. The guys on the team have been 'trying' to tease me about her and it's been irritating the hell out of me, I almost lost my cool at last night's practice when John said something about Yandy and it ended with him leaving with a fractured wrist. The coach chewed me out for it and made me run 3 set of suicides.

I sighed before looking around and notice that almost everyone was here, I heard movement on my right and saw that Yoon Ma-Ri and her friend Tiffany were seated next to me. They were already staring at me which kind of threw me off but when I didn't look away, Yoon Ma-Ri cheeks went red and she turned away from me. I inwardly rolled my eyes at her and looked at my lighter again, waiting for her to talk to me. I guess me having a girlfriend won't make her crush go away, I frowned, that was a main reason of getting a girlfriend.

"Jin-Joon." I looked away from the lighter to Yoon Ma-Ri "How have you been?" She asked as Tiffany tried to nudged her secretly.

I inwardly sighed as I sat up and smiled at her "I thought I told you that you can call me Joon?" She blushed and said nothing so I went on "I have been good and you?" I asked politely as I pocketed my lighter.

She giggled as she pulled her hair back behind her ear "I'm doing good," She glanced at me "I've been having trouble with precalculus and trigonometry" She paused "I was wondering if you would tutor me in it." She said bashfully with a giggle.

"Sure I'll help." I agreed nicely but I was groaning in the inside Maybe I can get Yandy to come I smiled at that "But my girlfriend is way better at Pre-Cal Trig than I am." I added.

Her eye twitched "Girlfriend?" She squeaked.

I nodded "Yeah, don't you date Yandy Brown?" Tiffany asked curiously.

I glanced at Tiffany "Yes I do." I answered with a smile.

Tiffany smiled at me "She's so nice and smart." She beamed "We took Macroeconomics' together and she explained everything to me better than the teacher did." She smiled.

I nodded "That sounds like Yandy," I looked at Yoon Ma-Ri, "So what time do you want to meet Yandy and me?" I asked as I rested my chin in my hand.

She turned away from me, flustered "I-um-I-I don't need it anymore." She muttered as she brushed her hair out of her face.

I narrowed my eyes at her "What? Why not?" I asked, knowing well that she wanted me all alone to herself.

She shook her head "I can find someone else to help me." She answered with her back to me.

I don't like being disrespected but I let it go because my plan was working. Tiffany watched us with wide eyes before staring at Yoon Ma-Ri in disbelief.

"Ok." I sat right in my seat "But Yoon Ma-Ri, don't you ever turn your back on me when talking," I stated calmly as I fold my arms, "understand?" She shrugged with her back still to me, I pursed my lips and sighed "How's your dad doing? I heard he's going through a Septal Myotomy on Tuesday." She stiffened and turned to me quickly "It would be a shame if his procedure didn't go right, wouldn't it?" I threatened in a mock worried tone.

She turned pale "Yes, that would be a shame." She nodded shakily with tears forming in her eyes "I'm sorry for being disrespectful and you're right, Kim Jin-Joon." She said with a bow of her head.

I glared at her head before turning away from her completely, I noticed how some of the other Korean students whispered about what just happened while the non-Korean students looked confused or glared at me. I ignored them and stared challengingly at the Korean students until they bowed their heads at me before letting up on my stare.

"Most of you know my situation and I'm grateful that you all kept it to yourselves" I glanced around the room at them "I'm a normal student here just like you but don't think for a second that I will tolerate disrespect from any of you." I stated sternly "I will demand respect and I will go to any means necessary to get it. So let this be a one time thing, understand, yeah?"

They all nodded quickly, I closed my eyes and sighed trying to calm myself down; I opened them and nodded at Han Ji-Hoon, the President, to start the meeting. He gulped before smiling at everyone with a greeting, I glanced at the clock on the wall and groaned inwardly.
