Ia menduga bahwa yang telah membunuh orang tuanya adalah Darko, pemimpin dari kelompok Black Stream. Saat itu, Ara masih berusia belum genap sepuluh tahun. Pasca meninggalnya kedua orang tua Ara, Ara pun dirawat oleh kakeknya, Mishumoto Nara Futaba. Ara pun berniat untuk membalaskan dendam kedua orang tuanya. Setelah ia berusia enam belas tahun, ia memutuskan untuk tinggal di Jakarta, karena ia mendengar kabar bahwa musuhnya itu tengah menetap di sana. Ara pun memutuskan untuk menyamar menjadi gadis biasa yang tidak terlalu mencolok di kalangan siswa dan masyarakat sekitar dan bersekolah di SMA Cendikia. Bahkan, ia rela tinggal di rumah yang kecil nan sempit milik seorang perempuan yang ia anggap sebagai ibu angkat. Beberapa ilmu bela diri yang ia pelajari adalah karate, aikido, samurai, tentu saja karena ia keturunan Jepang, taekwondo, wushu, kung fu, muay thai, dan jiu jitsu. Rencana awal Ara memang tidak ingin mencolok di kalangan murid, tetapi ia mempunyai rencana untuk membuat anggota geng begitu tau dia bersekolah di SMA yang ternyata hampir semua muridnya adalah anggota geng kecil-kecilan. Ia berpikir bahwa gengnya itu akan dijadikannya untuk membantu melaksanakan balas dendam.
