Opal's Point of view

I can't even imagine what Rriel is feeling. He found out his mom wasn't dead. I can't imagine the abandonment issues this is going to cause. It would cause such problems for me if I was in his shoes.

"We need to start looking for my mom," he tells me.

"It's easy, and I already know how to find her."

"Good," he grins.

"Wait, if Emmy destroyed your book, then how do we get back?"

"We swim to the surface," he tells me.

I feel my mouth drop open. I was already a Monkmaid, and I guess the magic stuck from my last visit. With a tail and a fin, I can imagine I'll be a good swimmer.

"It's going to be a long swim."

"We are designed for swimming," he laughs.

I smile. " Let's swim."

"So if Emmy destroyed the book, why didn't you just swim to see me?" I put my hand on my hip.

"Because we have no idea where we will end up, your house can be miles away," he tells me.

I nod. "Then that's a lot of walking."

"We will figure it out," he says.

"Don't you have magic?"
