Moving quickly, he arrived at a clearing where a boy with short black hair and brown eyes and an unremarkable face was facing off against a murder of crows.

Halting his mad dash to observe the situation, he noticed that the crows were evolved creatures, normal animals whose forms had adapted to mana and evolved over time, thus developing unique physical attributes and in some cases, possessing magical abilities.

Tracing his eyes over the boy, he saw a long red thin cut on his leg dripping with blood, probably the cause of his current predicament as these crows' senses were enhanced and were drawn to him by his blood.

The creatures were similar in many ways to a normal crow with major differences being in size, from his observation, their length was about 80cm and they sported a wingspan of about 170cm, and their scarlet eyes flickered with intelligence.
