“I could smell them on you…” Trent held me in his arms and I began to pull away. My eyes widened in shock.
But he held me to him and I looked up in his eyes.
“Relax, Kayleigh… I can only imagine what you went through to get here. I don’t blame you for seeking comfort with them.”
I thought about Cole and Blake and I had to be honest with myself and with him.
“It’s more than just comfort,” I admitted.
“You love them too,” he mutter looking somber but also understanding.
I nodded slowly, I thought about the lengths that both of them had gone to help me save Trent.
“I wouldn’t be here without them,” I said softly.
“Because they love you too.”
I nodded. “I think so."
Everything with the three of them felt so complicated and simple at the same time. I pulled away from Trent again and, this time, he let me go.
“We need to get ready for the prince’s dinner,” I said.
