Chapter 46: A Royal Dinner

“I could smell them on you…” Trent held me in his arms and I began to pull away. My eyes widened in shock.

But he held me to him and I looked up in his eyes.

“Relax, Kayleigh… I can only imagine what you went through to get here. I don’t blame you for seeking comfort with them.”

I thought about Cole and Blake and I had to be honest with myself and with him.

“It’s more than just comfort,” I admitted.

“You love them too,” he mutter looking somber but also understanding.

I nodded slowly, I thought about the lengths that both of them had gone to help me save Trent.

“I wouldn’t be here without them,” I said softly.

“Because they love you too.”

I nodded. “I think so."

Everything with the three of them felt so complicated and simple at the same time. I pulled away from Trent again and, this time, he let me go.

“We need to get ready for the prince’s dinner,” I said.
