The first day of school was a lot easier than I anticipated, a lot of lectures on expectations and looking at the syllabus. Tessa was in most of my classes with me except Alpha 101.
But there was still the challenge of people staring at us as we walked all over campus.
“It will get easier,” Tessa promised, but then stopped short as something caught her eye. I followed her gaze and although he was halfway across campus, I could recognize it was Cole.
At his side was Bethany. My jaw dropped open and I quickly shut it, feeling the eyes that went back and forth between Bethany on Cole’s arm and me, a deer caught in headlights.
I heard the hushed whispers and felt the probing stares all day.
Tessa and I had to get to different buildings when it was time for my Alpha 101 class. I was only a little shocked to see Darla at the door to class waiting to go inside and she did look nervous.
I’d seen some of the other rogues in my classes, but this was the first time I’d seen her.
