What JoyBoy didn't realize was that the reason behind this was because he was directly absorbing the purest spirit power from the Power Gem which resulted in such an obvious increase in physical attributes.

When he started cultivating, he had already set a mental alarm clock in his head for the noon because he had to go to his teacher's room with Tang San and bring him food.

For Grandmaster's body to quickly recover, JoyBoy and Tang San used the money Grandmaster gave them to buy some food from the dining hall and bring it back, accompanying Grandmaster and eating together while JoyBoy would also accompany them. Grandmaster right now could already walk, and told them they need not look after him. Sending them for these days first to regular classes. Moreover to take a look at that book Grandmaster gave them.

After they returned to their room, they found every working student sitting there speaking merrily. JoyBoy looked at them and acted surprised asking them about what happened.

They told him about the bet before asking him where he was at the time. He told the truth that he was cultivating.

After learning that he wouldn't have to work as a working student, he thanked Xiao Wu from his heart praising her as the best big sister anyone could wish for. Hearing his praise, Xiao Wu was really happy and felt satisfied.

After this he excused himself and directly went to his bed and started cultivating again. Seeing his actions no one minded because they always saw him cultivating whenever he had time. They even thought of him as a cultivation maniac.

After cultivating for entire night, early next morning he started doing his 40 sets of Saitama workouts. Because he was used to doing 20 sets per day, while finishing 40 sets and doing a 30 Km run, his body started aching. When he still continued doing them, he suddenly felt a warm energy flowing through his body easing his pain.

He noticed that, his martial spirit was released and the Power Gem was glowing. He felt that after absorbing this warm energy, his body grew stronger.

After noticing this, he was glad that he decided to increase the intensity of his daily workouts but also felt sad that he didn't do this earlier.

By the time he finished his workouts, it was almost time for the morning class. He quickly went to his room, cleaned himself up, wear his school uniform and went to class.

He easily learned what was taught in the class and memorized the contents after hearing them once. He once again felt glad that his intelligence was so high.

After returning from class he returned to his room and cultivated till evening. In the evening, he listened to Grandmaster's instructions with Tang San who returned after working in the smithy.

After that, he returned to his room and started cultivating again after cleaning himself up.

Soon his life became monotonous. He followed the same routine everyday and would only change it every month after he doubled the intensity of his daily workouts.

He even stopped talking to almost everyone except Tang San, Xiao Wu and Grandmaster. Of course, if someone ask him something, he would politely respond but otherwise, he would never initiate a conversation with others.

Because of his polite attitude, no one minded it, not even the eccentric Xiao Wu. Even she would be polite to him every time they spoke.

JoyBoy knew that he could increase his cultivation rank anytime he wanted. All he had to do was ask Grandmaster and he would gladly help him get a suitable spirit ring.

But he continued his daily cultivation because he had faith in himself and his martial spirit. He had a hunch that soon everything will change.

The change he was waiting for came after 2 months and 1 week had passed. After he finished his afternoon cultivation session, he felt a jolt in his martial spirit.

When he saw it, he noticed that the red Power Gem was glowing. The intensity of the glow was brighter than when he cultivated normally. Seeing this suddenly gave him a feeling that 'it was about time'.

He didn't know why he was suddenly getting this feeling but he knew that this feeling came from the Power Gem itself.

After attending the academy and Grandmaster's instructions for the last few months, his knowledge about martial spirits and spirit rings had increased tremendously.

He had learned that a spirit master and his/her martial spirit was deeply connected. Sometimes the ability gained from a spirit ring also depended on them and their deep desires could affect and decide what ability he or she will gain from the new spirit ring.

After sensing this sudden feeling from his martial spirit, JoyBoy directly went to Grandmaster's room and told him about it.
