Chapter 5: Black Season

Suzielette's POV

Elisse and I are waiting here at the clinic. It's been an hour since Venice left but she has not yet returned. Harold has already left. He said he needed to take care of something in their Kingdom.

I'm getting bored here. Where did that vampire go? It's getting late.

"Have you been waiting here for a long time?" Venice asked as she entered the clinic.

"Is it obvious?" I asked her, raising my eyebrows.

"Eh, sorry. I went straight to our dorm room. It took me a while because I fell asleep. But seriously! I have something to tell you. The beds are so soft like clouds. Super! The size of our dorm room is really huge. Then—"

I suddenly covered her mouth. She's talking too much.

"Better yet, let's go there." I told her.

We first helped Elisse to get up. She is weak and pale. What is happening to her?

We teleported to our dorm room. Only Venice can do that. Besides being a vampire with super speed, she can also teleport anywhere. Amazing right?

"Woah. The size of our dorm room is huge indeed!" Said Elisse.

She ran and lay down on her bed. She was weak earlier, now she became so hyper.

"The softness of the bed!" Now, she is rolling on her bed.

Our dorm room is really big. The walls are painted white. The tiles are red. The ceiling, dark red with diamond chandelier. Simple but royal. Yes, royal really. I sat on my own bed. Our bed is red and white in color as well. Just pure red and white. I can't blame it, that's probably the theme color of the Royal World.

We have our own closet and they have also provided us the things we need. Dresses, shoes, sleeping garments, gowns, hats, make-ups, and more. Just complete everything.

"I'll take a bath first." I told them. But they just ignored me. They are busy rolling around in their beds. Hopefully one of them will fall. Just a joke.

I went into the bathroom. Wait, is this a bathroom?! It looks as big as our room.

I didn't expect this school to be so amazing. It's like we're living inside the Castle. The tiles are red and the walls are white. There is a large mirror on the wall. There are three bathtubs made of gold. And there is a sauna! Looks like I won't miss our place if this is our room.

Elisse's POV

Waaaaah! The softness. I got tired of the rolling around here. So this time, I will stop. My head hurts. But I feel like I'm in a Castle. I feel like I'm a Princess here. It's beautiful. My mom would be very happy when she found out that I am already sleeping on soft beds and sleeping comfortably.

Suzy finished taking a bath so I will be the next one. I took my sleeping garments from my closet and went straight to the bathroom.

When I enter the bathroom...

"Oh damn! I'll be rich once I take the three gold bathtubs! Hehe." I said. But just kidding, I won't steal or take anything from this school.

I took a bath while playing with the water. I had never bathed in a bathtub before. We are not rich. We can't afford to have one.

After I wiped and dried myself, I put on my sleeping garments and went out to the bathroom. Then I just thought that we could take a bath together because there are three bathtubs inside.

When I came out of the bathroom, Venice came in next.

"AAAAHHHHHHH!" She shouted inside the bathroom.

"What happened?" Suzy asked as she combed her hair.

"Why is it so beautiful here?!" Venice shouted again.

Suzy just shook her head. That's all. I thought it was something serious.

I looked in the mirror and combed my long brown hair. I noticed my face became pale. I am already pale but I seem to be more pale now. My eyes, many are wondering why it is color gray. This is not even the color of my parents' eyes.

In our family, I am the only one who is different. Nathan's hair is blonde, so are mom and dad. Some people say, I was just adopted. Others say, I look like the Princess. But older brother told me, I was not adopted and even more so I did not look like the Princess.

Because...

I look better.

But I know it was just his joke. How can I better than the Princess? I look like a corpse because of my pale face.

"I feel fresh, like oh my gosh. Our bathroom is nice." Venice says as she just got out of the bathroom.

"Hey, it's getting late already. Let's go to sleep." Suzy told us she was lying on her bed.

"What? It's too early. Elisse and I will sleep later, right?" Venice looked at me.

"Huh? Me?" I asked her.

Venice nodded. "Yes!"

I looked at Suzy. Her eyes are talking, telling me to sleep.

"Ah, eh, I'm going to sleep. I've been drowsy for a while." I said to Venice.

She pouts. "Aw. Okay."

I turned off the lamp on my bedside table and went to bed immediately. I miss older brother so much. I miss teasing him every night. How are they at home? Have they eaten yet?

I just had my first day here but I miss them so much. But no choice, I really need to study rather than be uneducated and not getting a decent job in the end.

"Elisse? Is that you?" An unfamiliar voice talking to me.

Where am I? Why is it dark here? Who is talking to me?

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Altherine. You don't know me?" She asked.

Who is Altherine? Where is she? I can't see her because it is dark.

"Elisse, we'll meet someday. Very soon." She says. Gradually her voice disappeared.

Who is that Altherine? Why does she know me?

"ELISSE!"

I suddenly woke up. It was just a dream. But why does it feel real to me?

"We thought you were dead!" Said Venice. She still has tears in her eyes.

"Yes. What happened?" Suzy asked.

These two are serious.

"Oh, you are already dressed?" I change the topic.

"Yes, a while ago. So you, take a bath and get ready." Suzy ordered me. She sounds like my mother.

"Will follow." I said.

I grabbed a dress from my closet and went into the bathroom.

I was still sleepy so when I entered the bathroom, I almost slipped. Fortunately I was able to hold the doorknob.

I filled the bathtub with water and took a bath. I closed my eyes while soaking in the water.

"Elisse..." Someone whispered in my ear.

I suddenly opened my eyes and looked at the mirror.

There is a woman. Her hair is black and long. Even her clothes. But I can't see her face because her long hair blocks it.

"Who are you?" I asked her.

"Altherine." She said and she slowly disappeared. I shook my head. What was that? Maybe I'm just delusional.

We are here today in the Assembly Hall because Headmistress Gazelle called us.

"Listen everyone. The Black Season has already begun. You probably know what will happen. Wrong timing because it's just your first week now. Anyway, your Acquaintance Party will be next week. The Black Season will only last one week. " Headmistress Gazelle told us.

"You should stay in your dorm rooms. No one will leave the school. No one will go anywhere. You will not have classes starting today until Friday." Fairy Chandelle said.

"Go back to your dorm rooms now and be safe. Close all the windows." Said Headmistress Gazelle.

After our meeting, we all left the Assembly Hall and went back to our respective dorm rooms.

"Yes! No class! Let's go out!" Venice said as we headed to our dorm room.

"We were forbidden to go out this time." I said.

"Pretty please!" Venice insists on us. We have entered our dorm room.

"Enough, Venice. We will just stay here inside our dorm room." Suzy said and she sat down on the long sofa.

"Are you serious? It's boring. We can't do so much in here." Venice complaint.

I sat down next to Suzy.

"Aha! Let's go around here inside the school." Said Venice.

"We are not allowed to go out." I said. Venice is too demanding.

"Come on, guys! Let's just go around inside the school. Let's go!" Venice said and she pulled Suzy and I out of the dorm room.
