The Hawk

When Albert took Jayden out of the school he took him straight to a cafe nearby, it was a well-known cafe in the town, no matter whether it was a birthday treat or a celebration for success, people of the town always chose this cafe for every event, the most famous thing about this place was their burgers, so Hawkbone ordered two burgers.

"Oh I hope you are not allergic to meat, are you?" He was playing with Jayden's mind.

"No! Why would I be?" Jayden had no clue what Hawkbone was upto.

"Great!" He confirmed his order.

"I don't even need anything, please?" Jayden insisted but Albert seemed like a stubborn man! He kept passing a creepy smile and the burgers arrived.

"Have it please" He insisted "You know what? I like you a lot!" He smiled and both Albert and Jayden took a bite from the burgers.

Within the next few bites, Jayden started eating his burger like an animal. He totally forgot he was sitting in the middle of too many people, and he never did that before.

After taking the last bite he licked the area above his wrist all the way to the tip of his little finger.

Then in a moment, he felt as if he is shaking when he realized everyone is in the cafe, but everyone seemed nothing more than a sculpture, even the bees were frozen where they were.

"What did you do to me?" Jayden was grunting, breathing heavily.

"Oh, I just zoomed in on your inner beast! Nothing more?" He held the dial of his watch and stared at it.

Jayden remembered Albert giving him the burger keeping one of his hands on the top, he was confident he had something on his hands that he transferred to the burger, then he looked around lowering his head.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about these people! For exactly 3 minutes they won't even breathe… which means you exactly have 2 and a half minutes to listen to me!" He was speaking faster than usual "I know what you are! All I need is to prove it to the world!" He was still smiling but this time he had hatred in his eyes.

"What did I ever do to you?" Jayden looked at him with helplessness in his eyes."Uh-uh!" Albert shook his finger taking a big bite from his burger "No!" He chomped quickly and swallowed "It's not about what you did! It's about… what you will do?" He was swallowing big chunks without chewing much, just to tease Jayden.

"I am searching for the Alpha who turned you! All you have to do is… just point me in the right direction! And you head your own way and me on mine!" He wiped his mouth with a wipe, He stood up.

Before he was only suspicious about Jayden but now his doubt turned into certainty when he saw him almost turning in front of so many people.

"But no one turned me!" Jayden clarified himself but Albert stared at him with his eyes widened.

"Wrong answer," He said "I am giving you time! Either you will tell me who it is or I will make everyone suffer in this pretty little town of yours!"As he got closer to the door he started humming in a strange tone. Then he started singing a song.

"Hey child of mine, pretty little child of mine,

The one who's never been touched by a prick,

The one who's never been loved by all,

Let the mother's love wrap you in arms.

Those who were sleeping can wake up now,

But never let them know who sang to them,

The huntsman came and kissed their eyes,

and blew the song of sweet sleep in their ears,

After his last words, he walked out of the cafe and Jayden saw people getting back to normal, everyone gabbling and eating.

Jayden was also feeling better now, but still, it took him a few minutes to believe that everything is normal now.

When the waiter came Jayden stood up and was taking out his wallet from his pocket when the waiter stopped him.

"Your father paid your bill!" He said.

"Really?" Jayden kept his wallet back in his pocket "He's not my father!" He grunted.

While Jayden was still processing, news of him setting his arrow on fire and then having lunch with Hawkbone also reached Rose.

It wasn't something she could easily digest. At first, she heard setting an arrow on fire just like an impression, but then all of her friends told her what happened.

She's been taking sleeping pills, each night to help herself get through the night.

That day she kept peaking out of the window, she was expecting to see Hawkbone, and she felt she might see him today.

And this is what really happened that evening, She decided to get to the park to get some fresh air. After walking for a few minutes she saw a silhouette of a man standing closer to a tree wearing a hat just like Hawkbone's.

She stood still and waited for him to come, so he did.

"Hello, Miss Blanchard!" He bowed a little with his hat in his hand.

When he raised his head back his eyes glowed in the color of sand.

Rose jerked back."What are you?" Her eyes widened.

"Hunter! Miss Blanchard… I am a hunter." He smiled.

He didn't tell her what he was doing with Jayden he just said both Jayden and Rose had an important part to play in his mission.

"When you are ready to look behind the veil just open that envelope" He smiled.

"I am not opening any envelope unless you answer my questions!" She yelled as she saw Hawkbone walking away/

"I don't think Miss Blanchard that you are in condition to make any kind of demands here he slightly turned his head toward Rose then wore back his hat and disappeared into the thin air.

After he was gone she headed straight to her home and sat in front of her mirror with the envelope sat on her dressing table.

She kept staring at it, it said "Once you are in! There's no turning back." While she was still gathering the strength to open it, Jayden also received a package, right on his doorstep.

He took it inside his room it said the same thing as the one Rose had "Once you are in! There's no turning back.".

When Jayden opened it he saw an envelope with some pictures in it and a letter, Jayden placed the envelope on the side.

They both had the same pictures in their envelopes, there were 3 pictures in total, in those pictures was a wolf eating Felix's body.

That wolf had a torn jacket on with ripped-off sleeves, that jacket was from their school.

On the back they have their school's name in red, the rest of the jacket is black and sleeves in red with black cuffs and the collar had red vertical stripes, on the upper arm goes the number of the student, and this is where it was ripped from.
