JAUNE ARC POV
It didn't take long before he found the option called 'Exit Stage Left' in the Catalog.
Exit Stage Left
Cost: 5
The Company app on your Smart device has a new feature. Its main display is simply a progress bar that measures everything you do in your current location, whether that's capturing local waifus, defeating baddies, or otherwise accomplishing story goals. Once the bar is full, a button on the screen will light up that opens a portal to a randomized new world within one danger level of your current one.
If you have 'Pocket Apartment' or 'We Will Meet Again', the randomizer will choose based on your most recent new world. These portals are one-way only and will last no more than two minutes or until you and all of your waifus have passed through, whichever is shorter. If any of your waifus stay behind, this perk will not help you retrieve them.
If your destination world has a lower danger rating than your current one, a second 'penalty' bar will appear above the regular progress bar, It must be filled before the regular progress bar will start to move. The larger the gap between the two ratings, the more work you'll need to do in the new world.
He spent a moment of silent contemplation as he gazed at the price tag.
He was surprised by just how cheap this particular option was. 5 points are not that much when you think about it.
But he also understood that while this option may help him escape from an inescapable situation, it was not all it was made out to be.
First of all, he would have to complete this 'Progress Bar' before he's even able to use this option. And second, he'll be sent to a randomized world, which was bad news.
After all, there were hundreds if not thousands of multiversal worlds out there. And he only knew very few of them.
His greatest advantage in this world, aside from what the Waifu Catalog had given him, was his meta-knowledge. Without that he would be at a significant disadvantage wherever he goes the next time.
He looked for an option that will allow him to choose his next world.
He came across the options 'Pursued by a Bear' and 'The Bigger Fish' with the price of 10 and 30 points respectively.
'Pursued by a Bear' will allow him to have 3 choices while taking The Bigger Fish along with the previous option would allow him to have 7 options.
While not optimal, it does give him a measure of control over the situation.
He went back to the 'Exit Stage Left' option and purchased it.
He now had 36 points left in total.
He did not wish to leave the world at the moment. At least not until he had dealt with Salem in a more permanent way. But he knew that it's always a good idea to have an Exit Strategy.
If Salem somehow learns about him and his goals before he is able to become strong enough to stand against her and she decided to come after him full force then he would have no choice but to run with his tail tucked between his legs.
Not glorious or heroic but it'll allow him to live in order to fight another day.
He looked at the new app in his Scroll and tapped on it.
A new screen opened and showed his Progress bar at 26%.
Huh…
He had no idea what he had done so far that would explain him completing over a quarter of the required Story Goals in this world.
He scrolled down and saw the list of achievements in his name.
First was… Joining Beacon Academy.
This alone gave him 10% Progress.
He thought about it and realized that the first few Seasons were based in Beacon Academy. This was the place where everything started. He really shouldn't be surprised by this.
He moved on to the next achievements.
Capture or Sell a Tier 5 Waifu (Repeatable Achievement)- 2%
Defeat Cardin Winchester in the Arena- 1%
Protect the Bunny- 1%
Foil team CRDL's plan in the Forever Fall forest- 1%
Defeat the Grimm (2/37):
Beowolf- 2%
Ursa- 2%
Survive One Month in Remnant (repeatable achievement)- 1%
Visit All Four Kingdoms:
Vale- 3%
Visit All Four Huntsman Academy
Beacon Academy- 3%
He did a few calculations and found that getting the remaining 74% shouldn't be that hard.
Visiting the other 3 kingdoms and their 3 Huntsmen Academies alone should give him a total of 18% Progress Completion.
After that, he would have to hunt Grimm. And while he doubted that he was powerful enough to take on Grimm like the Wyvern or the Leviathan (which were both worth 10% each), he was sure that he would be able to take on the many other weaker Grimm. Especially with his overpowered Waifus on his side.
That alone should give him 40-60% Progress Completion. And aside from that, capturing or selling Waifus should also give him more Progress Completion so there was that. (Capturing or Selling a 6th tier Waifu gave him 5%. Capturing or Selling a 4th tier and below level Waifu gave him 1%.)
If he is still not able to get to 100% then simply surviving each month will give him an additional 1%.
He doubted that he would have to rely on this particular Achievement to get to 100% percent but it was always an option.
So all in all, getting to 100% was not hard. Just something that will take time and resources.
Though once he gets ready to leave the world he would still have to buy 'Pursued by a Bear' and 'The Bigger Fish' which were worth 10 and 30 points each so there was that.
At this point, he wasn't sure that he'll able to buy the Dragon Blood Perk. Not in this world at least. Which means that- "Jaune! How long do you plan to stay in there?" Weiss' voice came from outside.
He sighed and closed the app before pocketing his scroll and leaving the bathroom.
As Weiss entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him, he wondered if defeating Yang will give him any Points. Would beating Roman or meeting Penny give him points as well?
He'll just have to wait and see.
