Chapter 42

I readjusted my tie as I walked into the house. I couldn't remember being so nervous. I had fucked up because I couldn't fucking keep my mouth shut.

The sound of a music video playing on the TV welcomed me. I peeked into the living room but she wasn't there. I gulped and tugged my tie off. It felt like a noose around my neck.

I hated the game we were playing. Yes, I was nervous but what was even more frustrating was the fact that she was avoiding me. I had called her after she ended the call but she hung up. I called her two more times after than and she still hung up. I couldn't concentrate so I decided to come home.

I flung the tie onto the couch before walking to the stairs. The house was silent and I hoped she hadn't left the house. I pushed the door to the room open and she was laying on her side, asleep.
