Chapter 37

The smell of stale urine filled the air and I pinched my nose as I stared at her.

"What the fuck?" I mumbled to myself nasally.

"Mama?" My voice came out like a nasal drawl. The smell was really bad. She even smelled like fish too.

My eyes widened when I noticed that she was about to sit down on our couch.

"Ah! No, mama. I'll bring a chair for you" I pursed my lips in disgust and ran to the kitchen grabbing a chair before I walked back to the living room. Thankfully, she wasn't standing on the rug but on the tiles. It would take me days to get the stench out of the rug or the leather chair.

She sighed and shook her head as she sat down on the chair I handed her.

I walked to the kitchen after making sure that she wasn't close to any of my furniture and called Michael. He answered on one ring.

"Where are you?" I was partly annoyed that he should have been here two hours ago.

"I had to get some work. I'm sorry, baby. Hmm?" He mumbled and yawned.
