Chapter Twenty - Six
Ryan sat down quietly in the living room with Marcus
"Marcus what brought you here in New York?" He asked curiously
"Well my friend, I came to pay you a surprise visit man.. is that a crime?" He said softly
"No Marcus, I didn't say it's a crime.. I only meant to say, I'm shocked to see you here.. you've never stayed this long in my house." Ryan replied softly
"Well I'm here with you now so leave me please" He said coldly
"You sure you don't have any hidden agenda for been here Marcus? I know you too well" He asked curiously
"Okay fine, I met someone today" He started gently, smiling at himself as he recall his experience with his new found love
"Wow!!.. you met someone? a female? where?" Ryan asked happily
"Are you..? fine.. I saw this gorgeous lady at the cafeteria I went to yesterday but this girl is hard.. like man, this girl can snob someone.. She didn't even give me any chance to talk to her, Ryan if you see the way she looked at me yesterday like with a murderous expression.. someone ready to kill at any given time especially when I stalked them with my car.. Ryan I waited for this girl to close but you know, she disgraced me.. she just threw me away like am some piece of trash, I mean her attitudes towards me that it was so obvious that se hated me" He commented calmly feeling sadness
"So you decided to stay behind for this girl?" Ryan asked curiously
"I like her already Ryan and I want to try my best to win her over so I'm ready to stay behind.. did you get it now or you want me to go?" He replied
"Are you a stranger to me? Nah bro!!.. you can stay as long as you want Marcus, I don't mind at all but you know you shouldn't force her okay" Ryan said
"I'm not forcing her guy, I just want to woo her and you know settle down with her" Marcus replied
"Settle down?.. really?.. you Marcus?" Ryan teased him
"Yes Ryan, I want to settle down or what?" He said harshly
"Marcus, you have your own life to live man.. I can't decide your life for you, If you want to settle down.. I'm always happy for you " He replied softly
"You have never change Ryan.. despite our evil plots against you before Moses death, you still accommodate us wholeheartedly.." He commented
"Have forgotten about the past, I just want to look towards the future and focus on my life Marcus.. I have a shitloads of responsibility to think about rather than focusing on whatever someone has done for me before in the past" He replied calmly
"You are a true friend Ryan.. anyways, I need your help in getting this girl I met" He requested happily
"Are you sure you know who you are talking to about relationship? Bro, I have no single clue on how to woo a lady.. I don't have time for that Marcus" he replied
"Nevertheless, you will still have a slight ideas on how girls from this land behaves" Marcus Said
"I don't even know the person you are talking about Marcus, fine describe the person for me" Ryan said, staring at him
"I don't know how to describe her actually but I know she's pretty, very pretty" Marcus said imagining her face as he smiled to himself
"But every lady is pretty in their own way" Ryan replied, he stretched his hands towards his face
"No Marcus, not every lady is pretty but this girl is spectacular.. very beautiful with a sweet natural look.. She's not tall actually but she's difficult" He replied
"I feel you should give her space for a while, get to know her first then you will know what to do.. I mean her likes and dislikes.. Girls are not that difficult you know, they just don't want to look cheap in a guy's presence because it still the same guy that will badmouth them among his friends so they rather avoid that always" Ryan explained softly
"You see guy, I don't know if this girl will like me or not.. you really need to see the way she looked at me, am really telling you she's hard" He replied
"Try your best first and let her decide.. don't force her please Marcus, girls don't like it" Ryan said softly
"Thanks bro, you gave me a good advice" He smiled
"Is just a little tips I know Marcus, please just take it cool with her and you will see" Ryan said
"I told you that you are a genius, I wonder why you're still single bro?" Marcus asked curiously
"Now is turn, like really?.. you want to insult me" He replied
"Nah my gee, you are good.. I won't dare" Marcus said
"Stop teasing me Marcus, I need to work" He replied
"That's why you are single, you don't have time for yourself so how would you have time for someone you claim you are in a relationship with?" he said
"It's enough, don't start Marcus" He said hurriedly
"No Ryan, am telling you the truth and you know that.. have never seen any lady with you, please tell me are you straight?.. like a guy? and you know female? or is it male but have never seen you get attracted to a male before.. infact, you are confusing me" he said
"That's your problem, deal with it" He said and climb upstairs hurriedly
Marcus looked at his Ryan wonder what is going on in his mind "Ryan is weird like big one" He said to himself gently and went to his own room.
Marcus took his phone and click on the picture he took of her when she was walking towards him to give him his coffee at the cafeteria, he took it secretly. He stared at it and kissed the phone screen with passion imagining how he is kissing his new love.
"I promise to win you over no matter what, I want you know that I am fully ready for you.. stay put for me my sweet doll cuz your baby is coming to take you away from this place to his comfort zone" he said to himself and smiled still looking at her pic
Marcus dial a number on his phone
"Hello Emerald, cancel my appointment for the next one month.. I have an important work to do here in New York, understood please?" He ordered softly
"But sir, we have a huge offer this week" A female voice replied slowly
"Who employed you? you or me?.. I said cancel it." He took a deep breath before
he continue "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you but I just wanted to make you understand what am saying.. have a nice month holiday" He said calmly and cut the call. He check the pic once again, lay down gently on the bed and doze off
