Chapter Thirty - Two

A week after Mr Edward visited Ryan in his office, The news about their conversation went viral leaving Ryan in confusion and sadness.

Ryan left the office early intending to calm himself down and take a good sleep. His phone rang suddenly distracting him on his way to his room. He checked his caller and saw his father name popped up

He picked it quickly

"Dad what a surprise? Why are you calling Dad?" He asked coldly, frustrated with everything

"Is it a crime to call my son? I wanted to check up on you especially after hearing the news about Moses death and that you are guilty" He replied softly

"Dad you trust me right? He asked curiously

"I trust you son.. I know you would never kill an ant but I don't understand why that man is so adamant in taking up the case?.. the case is over 19 years right Ryan?" He asked curiously

"Yes Dad, I'm so tried of all this" He muttered slowly

"I know but you need to be strong my son" he said

"The case is tomorrow dad and this man has a full confident that I will lose" He said as he frown his face

"You need to have faith in yourself.. You can't win if you have a pure negative thoughts in your mind.. You need to reveal the truth to the world, since they brought this on themselves but it takes courageous man like yourself to win it" he replied softly

"Dad I know, I just don't know where to start from.. Everything is just too much and I don't even know the real truth about his death" Ryan said

"And that's what you have to reveal im court son, just believe that u can do it.. personally, I'm so interested with the case because I want to know what happened " He said softly

"Yes dad, I also want to know the truth" He said

Emily at the cafeteria, She saw everyone's attention on the TV. She ignored but something got her attention

"Ryan Collins, one of the young richest billionaire in the country is accused of killing his friend 19 years ago called Mr Moses Edward. The case was serious then but was closed by the Collin's family to defend their son but now Mr Edward brother who is the owner of the popular media house called Blaster's media house reopened the case. He promised to fight justice for his decreased brother as the case start tomorrow.." The news caster in the TV said and moved to the next headlines. Everybody in the cafe gazed at each other in shock.

Emily quickly meet her boss and took permission to leave early because of an emergency. She tried Ryan's line but still on another call at the moment, took her

p and take a cab to Ryan's house. She used the lock pin and entered the house, Ryan on the couch in the living room still on a call with his father.

Ryan looked surprised to see Emily standing in front of him in is House, he gave her a signal to be silent and take her seat. Emily got the signal and seat on the chair in front of him.

"Dad I pray we win this case maybe then I will be extra free especially from my nightmares" He said

"Yes son.. We never can tell if the reason for your nightmares is for this day to come" replied

"Yes Dad, I believe so.. anyways I will call you back later Dad, wish me well tomorrow" He muttered

"I'm coming along tomorrow with your mum, we're always with you Ryan just be yourself" He said

"Yes Dad, thank you " He said, his father cut the call.

Ryan faced Emily who was busy pressing her phone. He cleared his throat to get her attention, she faced him quickly and smiled awkwardly

"Emily how are you? and why are you here?.. You never told me you're coming" He said coldly

"Well I never knew I was coming either but the news I heard got me here" She replied

Ryan rolled his eyes "what about the news? are you here to question me cuz I don't have that time so you can go" He said coldly

"You don't need to be rude Ryan.. I came here for you but if you want me to go then I.. " She said but cut off

"No Emily, I want you here and I'm grateful that you are heerr with me" He said softly as he hold her hands with big hands lovely and smiled at her

"Is that smile real? Ryan I need a real smile" She requested calmly

"But I can't right now, I have a lot on my mind" he replied

" Ryan I promise we'll figure this out and I know you will win this case " She said

"You think so?" He asked curiously

"I know so Ryan, just trust yourself and the almighty that victory is yours" She replied softly

"Thank you Emily.. I'm very grateful" He said and smiled at her.

Nanny came out and saw the two of them in a deep conversation, she smiled happily at them. he moved closer to them

"I'm sorry to disrupt your conversation but I need to ask you if I should bring your food?" She said

"Nanny please, I'm not hungry but I know for Emily" He said softly

"I never asked for your opinion Ryan, I'm talking to the guest here cuz you are eating whether you like it or not.. You've not been eating well since two days ago and am worried for you Ryan" She replied sadly

"Why Ryan? don't be troubled ma, he will definitely eat something" She replied

"Thank you my dear, please tell me what you would like to eat?" She asked her smiling at her

"Anything is fine by me" She replied

"Well my dear, anything is nothing" She replied, They both laugh out loud.

"Anything you have ma" She replied

"Well my dear.. we have water in the house" she replied jokily

"If that's what you want to give me then is fine " She replied smiling at her

"Anyways I will spare you this time but next time I asked you this particular question, I need a straight answer. Anything you desire is available" She replied slowly

"Yes ma.. thank you nanny" She said, Nanny leave them alone and walked to the kitchen

"She is good Ryan " She replied and smiled at herself

"Yes my nanny is nice.. you know she took care of me since I was a child, my parents especially my mom is always busy with work so I spent my whole time with my nanny and so when I old enough to have my own house.. I took her in to take care of her" He narrated softly

"Then why is she cooking for you?" She asked curiously

"Well my nanny is very stubborn, she refused to stop cooking for me even at her old age" He replied

"That's good Ryan.. she's amazing" She said

"I agree Emily.. tomorrow is my trial" He said with a frown face

"I trust you Ryan, i know you will win" she said

"Thank you Emily.. are you staying?" He asked her

"Staying? No Ryan, I'm going home tonight" She answered

"Let me drop you at home quickly" He said

"Is that necessary?.. I will go on my own" She refused

"I insist Emily, i don't want to hear No but you are eating first.. Nanny will kill me" he said, she smiled and continue their conversation before the nanny's arrival.
