Chapter Thirty - Seven

Ryan entered his company and saw a flower bouquet in the hand of a little girl dressed as a princess.

" Welcome back Ryan Collins... " she said in her cute tiny voice that warm Ryan heart.

He gently kneel down in front of her, squeeze her cheeks with his big hands with a sweet smile

" That's so thoughtful of you my little princess.. did you missed me ?.. " He muttered softly

" Yes I miss you.. No one to disturb, everyone is just too serious with work including my Mom.. is so annoying and so I promised myself to surprise you the day you will resume back to work.." She replied cutely

" I love you more cupcakes.." He said happily, he has a lot ion his mind but never this little girl gestures will warm his heart.

" But I didn't tell you I love you so why would you say too?.. have warned you times without number not to call my cupcakes.. I don't want them to eat me, am not a cake and besides I can eat myself because I love cupcakes yet you kept calling me that... I promised to be nice towards you for a day so don't let me change my mind and turn everything around for you." She said pouting cutely.

" Fine!!!... I don't have the energy to fight with you cupcake.." He said, stopped before bursting into serious laughter as she looked at him furiously

" Sorry!!!.. Sorry!!!!.... Sorry!!!!!!..." he said and ran towards towards his office.

The staff waited patiently for him in front of his office, smiling at him tenderly

They shout as soon as he ran towards their side

" Welcome back sir!!!... " They echo happily

" Thank you so much guys.. I really really do appreciate it even tho I was so rude and arrogant to my staff.. thank you for your prayers and love.. " He replied happily

" Sir, regardless of your attitude towards, you're still our boss and we really appreciate that because honestly we annoy you as well so thank God you're back." His PA said representing everyone as they all nod their head in agreement

" Thank you so much.. okay okay!!! enough of this surprise, let's go back to work immediately.. I know have not really paid close attention to work around here but now I'm back to my normal sense.. Right now, I want everyone to convene to the conference room for a meeting and bring your reports.. " He said calmly

Everyone quickly enter their office, took their reports and moved quietly to the conference room awaiting the arrival of their boss. Ryan dropped his bouquet on his desk, took his laptop and left to the conference room.

Ryan entered the conference with more serious look different from the person who greeted them before. He looked more serious and ready to sack any staff that misbehave in the meeting. He looked around the room, saw the table set with snacks and bottle water before sitting.

" Good morning everyone.. I'm so happy to be back and I will firstly appreciate your works here, it really impressive. Your dedication and commitment to this company can never overemphasized... Each department will give their report one by one with their failures and success so far... " He said, everyone brought out their report.

The meeting was tough, Ryan looked more serious with business. He got so angry with marketing department.

" Why would tell me that.. you're waiting for me to give you instruction?.. Didn't I message the head of this department and give him strict instructions to carry and you are saying this.. where is him? where the hell is this guy ?... " He yelled angrily, he hate it when his work is taking with levity.

The conference room opened, a tall handsome man ran inside.

" Sorry sir, I'm late!!!!!... " He stuttered with a shaking voice, bow his head in shame.

" Wow!!!.. Mr Adams, is this your 8:00?.. check the time for me PA ?.." He said coldly

" 12noon sir .." She replied with a shaking voice

" And we've been here since when please? " He asked coldly

" Sir, the meeting started around 9am.. 3 hours ago sir.. " She replied quickly

" And this idiot is just coming by this time on Monday morning?... you see how incompetent you are? And you will portray me as the bad guy.. Get this straight, this. is. my. company and I don't joke with my business.. I worked so hard before it becomes this big and I won't allow irrelevant idiot like you to ruin it for me .. I sent you message didn't I? .. Did you do it?.. marketing ooo!!!! Very very relevant in a business and you're taking it like this?.. Your service here is exhausted, so pack your things and get our of this company.. you're sacked .." He said coldly

Mr Adams kneel down before him begging

" I'm sorry it won't happen again... it wasn't intentional, it was an emergency sir... my daughter has not been fine since a week ago and it was so serious sir.. Pls forgive me, give another chance.." He pleaded with tears pouring from his eyes

" Like last year? 6 months ago? 5 months? 3 months? 2 months? a month ago? Two weeks ago? last week? .. you're incompetent, very stupid for uttering that disgusting statement.. Should I call your family and confirm sir ?.. Get out and don't ever let me set my eyes on you again around this place... " He screamed.

" PA, We're in search of a good marketer. Post a vacancy out.. We're done for the day.. everyone should work on their corrections and report back to me before closing hour.. have a nice day.. " He said, walked out majestically with cold face.

Ryan entered his office, stroll through his phone and saw 3 missed calls from his father. He called him back

" Dad, I saw your missed calls.. hope everything is fine ? " He asked curiously

" Are you fine?.. did you eat anything this morning?.. " He asked gently, he knows he ate eating breakfast

" Dad, I don't have the time. I'm busy presently with work and I just finished with a meeting with staff.."

" Did you fire anyone? .. they announced your company request for a marketers.. " He said

" That's good.. My pa is doing a great job, I'm impressed. The man is incompetent and careless and a big liar.. " He explains angrily

" Anything you decide is fine.. you know the right thing son, don't change the topic .. When will you eat? You need to eat son, just tell your PA to get you something please.. don't let me call you back and you will tell me you've not eaten please " He said gently

Ryan took a deep breath " Thanks Dad.. " He replied softly, he hang up the call. He called his PA through telecom and instructed her to buy him burger with chips.
