Chapter Thirty - Five

In the court with crowd seated waiting patiently for the judge to enter. A black BMW drove in as the media surrounds it to see the owner.

Ryan inside the car took a deep breath wishing someone is here to hold his hands and tell him everything will be fine but none. His driver asked him if he could open the door but he replied with a No calmly.

Ryan looked up and silently prayed to the almighty to help him win the case and be free from this accusations. He swear to make the life of the person who killed his friend a living hell but firstly he has to clear this critical misunderstanding especially with decade's brother. He took a long deep breath again as he open the door to his car and came outside. he was crowded with media taking pictures and asking him several questions

" Why did you kill your friend?" Someone asked

" Did you use your friend to get rich?" Another asked harshly

" Are you the real owner of the company you claim to have or is for your friend?" Another throw another question coldly

Ryan felt so embrassed in all their questions, he strongly wants to reply to their questions but he could not find his word. Questions kept flowing like a wind in his ear and thankfully some security men came to save him, took him inside to take his seat.

Ryan entered the court, looked at everyone seated curiously and felt sad when he saw the decade brother staring angrily at him.

" I only wish people will come to my celebration and wedding not to my trial here in the court.. Almighty you're the only one that can save me from this great accusations I find myself.. " He thought to himself

as he saw his parents who smiled at him, he smiled back at them but his heart search for someone special but didn't find here. he felt a sharp pain in his heart for her absent.

Everyone stood up as the judge entered quietly. Ryan looked around once more. He saw her, yes he saw her seating quietly at the back with her eyes set on him curiously. He smiled so bright and took a relief breath.

Emily ran inside the court immediately the judge entered as he sat quietly at the back with her eyes searching round the room for Ryan. He saw him smiling at her happily, she smiled back and gave him a love sign with her two hands joined together forming a symbol. He muttered slowly 'Thank you'. She smiled.

Ryan faced the judge as the start the trial. The judge spoke requesting for the previous trial report as the start. Everyone concentrated except Ryan who thought of his life at the office until he met this wizard brother of Marcus who walked in and changed everything. He felt a tap on his shoulder as he looked at lawyer seating beside him curiously until the judge repeat himself.

" I asked you Ryan a simple question but your mind wasn't here. This is a court and we are all here for your case so pls pay a close attention to everything said here.. Okay?.." The judge said calmly

" I'm sorry.. I had a load of things on my mind right now and so hard to concentrate" Ryan said

" I understand but try.. I asked for your opinion in this matter?.. What would you say about this accusations made against you?.." The judge said as he look at the book Infront of him

"I really did not pay attention to everything said, but I will go straight to the point not to waste our precious time here. I knew Marcus the second day I stepped in that land, I had nobody... " (took a deep breath) ".. He was a true friend that stood by me... sadly I was not his only friend, He had three friends before me but left them for me and that's when the problem starts.. (He took a sharp deep breath as he recall their bullies and hatred towards him) ..

".... They thought Marcus left them because I was rich, honestly I was ignorance to the fact that Marcus was in a gang before I met him. I found out the day he died.." He stopped to look at the judge

" What happened that day Mr Ryan? Can you explain it to us ? .. "

" I had an argument with my Mom concerning her sending me to the land without anyone with me.. I was feeling so suffocated with Marcus's friends bullies and physical threat.. I hang off the call and slept gently on my bed remembering my long lost friend and life after her dead... actually i thought she was dead. .. I heard a sharp knock on my door that really scared me.. I opened it quickly but was pulled back by one of Marcus's friend with the rest pointing their guns at me asking for Marcus and where he kept their property. I was speechless cuz I had nothing to say to them. As at that time, I had no clue that he was in any gang or not because he was so cool, calm, gentle, nice and friendly... ( He bow his head, holding the edge of the court table to help himself)

Ryan has never imagine that a day will come and he will tell the world his nightmares. He shake his head in sorrow as he recall that day like it was yesterday. The whole Court was quiet waiting patiently for his next words. Emily took a deep breath putting her hands to pray to God for his help to win this case. Ryan closed his eyes as tears poured from his eyes. He used his other hand to hold his chest as he felt a sharp pain of sorrow for his dearly friend who died because of him.

He looked at the crowd, the judge and continue " Marcus entered the room and saw the drama. He got so angry, took out his gun and killed the guy beating me.. the guy fell on me as I screamed in fear.. I struggled to pull the guy off me and ran to the corner of my bed to hid from everyone but I can see everything.. They began their fight without gun this time until a guy looked towards my side and said " is because of me that they're fighting that I was a bet between them but only Marcus took a the share and credit".. I was hurt and betrayed but everything changed when the guy pointed the guy at me but Marcus took the bullet Instead and fell on me. I could not breath because of the tension in the room. The two guys stared at each other surprisedly before they pointed their guns toward themselves to kill themselves I believe but only one missed his target and got shot instead remaining one.. My room was filled with dead people and myself in a pool of blood as Marcus dead body still on me.. I saw the other smiled happily before I fell in unconscious. Only to woke up in my family hospital after few months in coma. I had several nightmare that destroy my life and Peace, I kept seeing dead people especially my loved ones in a pool of blood. Sometimes I will carry them in my hands as blood dripped from my hands to the floor.. I can't sleep properly, the highest duration to sleep is 30 minutes.. " Tears flowed in the court room as everyone felt his pain including the judge.

The judge wipe his tears with his handkerchief " And you kept all this pain within yourself.. How did you survive it .. is up to 15 years now and you kept it?.." He asked calmly

Ryan's mum hold her head as guilt overwhelmed her. Emily never imagined that her tough best friend has faced a lot. She felt his pain as tears came out of her eyes.
