Chapter Sixteen

Ryan came out of his room and saw his father in the living room. He smiled to himself and moved closer

"Dad, I'm going to Emily" He said with a happy smile

"And that makes you this happy?.. You can go my son and send my regards to her.. take care of her son, infact I trust you on that" He replied smiling at him

"Thanks Dad, what would you tell mom if she ask for me Dad?.. I don't want her to disturb me" He said

"Trust your father son, I will tell her what she needs to hear.. she would disturb you except she has a spy" His father replied smiling at him and gave his son an handshake as Ryan opened the door and left.

Ryan saw the driver outside and told him to take him to Emily's house. They drove off quietly.

Ryan's mother Jessica in her room with the maids, scolding them angrily when her phone rang.

"Hello!!!... don't you have sense? I told you not to call me in this hour" She whispered angrily

"Sorry ma'am but you need to know that your son is going right now to Emily place and i heard both of them are going to play" the person said

"Are you sure about that? trace them well and miss them cus those two are smart" She replied and hang up going to the living room to question her husband

"Honey, where is your son?" She asked curiously

"Well I don't know but he said he has a lesson with his tutor in his house" He replied still focused on his work

"Really? did he tell you that or you made this up yourself Honey" she asked curiously

"I don't think you heard what I said before you replied, I said he said woman.. are you okay like very okay?" He said angrily

"You mean your son told you that and you believed him without thinking twice? She asked raising her voice a little

"Be careful woman, you know very well that I am busy and I don't joke with my works.. you are disturbing me woman, this boy is not a baby.. stop pestering his life honey, let him breath.. he has the right to go anywhere he wants, I don't care" He replied coldly

"Are you a father?" She asked angrily

"You should answer that yourself and leave me woman" He said and continue his work

"I will look for my son myself, you are just useless and you know that he's only our son" she said

"So you want to suffocate him?.. Are we the only parents that will give birth to just a child? Leave this boy alone and let him live his life.. we taught the right things to do and he's walking in that step so why are you distracting him?" He asked staring at her

"Me? distract him? Nah!!!... that foolish girl is the one distracting him honey and we need to separate them as soon as possible " She replied slowly

"Leave them both alone, let them be, let them breath.. Ahhh!!!.. is it a sin to be born into this world? or be poor? is not her fault either, you should consider that and stop disturbing them.. imagine if she's your child, would you treat her like this?" he yelled angrily

"God forbid she's my daughter " she replied coldly

"If that's for you, she's also someone's else daughter so let her be for once see the good in her" he replied

"Is useless talking to you" she said, hissed and walked out angrily. Mr Collins called his son's phone

"Ryan?.. Your mother is tracing you, don't take Emily to the beach again... take her somewhere else, somewhere she can't find you guys easily.. your mother is a witch" he said, smiling a little

Ryan laughed for loud " Thanks Dad and I'm sorry for the trouble" He said

"You both are not a trouble to me, you are my children and I will do anything to help you both" he replied

"Thanks Sir, you are the best father " Emily said

Mr Collins felt a drop of tears from his eyes as he heard her sweet soft voice "Please call me dad" He said

"Yes Dad, thank you" She said smiling with tears in her eyes heavily, Ryan touched her cheeks and wipe her tears away before collecting the phone with her. He Hang up gently and hugged her

"have never called anyone Dad Ryan " She whispered

"I know Emily and my dad is your dad too" He replied

"Thank you Ryan and thank your dad too" she said

"shall we go?.." He said and took her hand in his hand gently smiling at her

Ryan and Emily playing at the cafeteria with the owner "Emily, I think we need to this place before my mom see us and I don't want any trouble for you" He said and took her hands

"Nothing will happen but we have to be very careful like what your dad said" She replied slowly as walked with him to go outside when they both looked back and stared at the cafeteria owner

They both thank him and left gently gisting on the way.

They saw an uncompleted building filled with people making small feast at the front

"Ryan, I think we should go there" She suggested

"Why?.. that's an uncompleted building and is very dangerous for us" Ryan replied coldly

"But still, is better than walking around the street like jobless people" She said calmly

"But still, we are not going there and besides, people are having feast there so there wouldn't be enough space for us to pass Emily " He said softly

"We are hidden from your mom right?" She asked

"Yes and how is that got to do with this one?" He said

"I feel staying inside this uncompleted building with our foods in our hands, we can play as many time as possible Ryan just trust me" She said smiling

"Fine let go inside but how are we going to go inside?" Ryan asked curiously

"That's for me to know and for you to find out" She replied slowly, Ryan shake his head and smiled at her

They struggle to enter with people blocking their way, they finally entered the building and looked for an extra space to stay. They sat down gently on the floor, brought out the food they got from the cafeteria owner

"You see I told you that this place is better than outside.. That way your mom will not see us" Emily said smiling happily

"You are a genius and a good girl" Ryan teased, Emily pout her lips at him

"stop calling a girl, am a lady.. a beautiful one at that Ryan, and you know that" She whispered slowly

"I know baby lady... my beautiful lady but you know you will always be my baby girl" Ryan teased

"How old are you that you are calling me baby? Just two years senior Ryan" She replied slowly

"At least, can you buy that one in the market" He asked teasing her, smiling at her

"If they sell it, I will buy it.. is not like nothiyin this world can't be sold out right?" She teased back

"Including age?" He asked curiously

"Nothing can't be done " She teased ans laughing loud

"I see, you are not serious.. imagining if they are selling it for real, i will buy more to my age and grow tall and handsome" He said smiling

"I will buy and grow beautiful like a doll" Emily said

"Doll really? and you don't want me to call you baby? Cuz sometimes you behave like a baby" He said

"Shut up and let's eat" she said, They took their foods and ate slowly. They played around for hours till they are both tried and ready to go home. People having the feast has gone to their different destinations before they came outside to go home.

Jessica came home and noticed his son still missing. She got a call through to her spy

" I don't think you know your work" She replied

" I did ma'am but those children are very smart, it was like they knew someone was following them so they went somewhere else... have been on the roll searching for them since afternoon" He replied

"And now? where are they? and when last did you see them Mr Man?" She asked curiously

"At the cafeteria ma'am.. Actually they went into another direction but they were many people there and I missed them till now.. still searching ma" He said

"Then you are useless, you better get their location for me before I lose it and you know what I can do " she threatened coldly

"Yes ma'am, I will do that ma but I think I saw your son at the gate of your house " He said and hang up

Jessica went out of the room and saw his son at the living room sitting comfortable with his dad

"Where are you coming from Ryan?" She challenged him with a cold voice

"I went out Mom to my tutor's house" Ryan replied

"You are lying and you know that yourself that you are lying but you choose to lie to your own mother Ryan" She yelled angrily at him with pure hatred

"Yes I lied to you mom because I don't want you to know where am coming from.. I'm not a baby mom, am seven years and I'm old enough to go wherever I want to go without your consent" He yelled at her

"So now, you know how to shout right? because of that foolish poor girl right?" She asked, irritated

"Mom stop, for once stop.. What is it? did you know her from somewhere or she ate your food without your consent? Why did you hate her this much?.. Mom a small girl ohhh!!! and you are talking like she's your mate? dad imagine what mom is saying" Ryan said

"Jessica imagine if this girl is your child and someone like yourself insult your child like this? what would you do? cuz I don't think you understand that it is God's plan that everybody lives in different way and since you are not God, you shouldn't judge based on their current situation. Is nobody's fault that some people are poor neither is it our works that makes us rich. We are just privilege honey and we help ourselves irregardless of our situations because nobody knows tomorrow not even the rich ones.. Honey hating this girl, she's too young for you to treat her this way. I don't know that anyone of us will be her condition cuz I am praying that she leave that life and live a beautiful life.. a life that she won't have to struggle to do anything, a life that she will have more than enough not this wrenched life of her.. she's too wonderful to live that life honey, try to understand and consider her as well Jessica.. she's a human just like you.. lets go son and your mother to wander in her dreams" Her husband said calmly and left the living room with his son.

Jessica stared at them angrily and screamed

"I hate you poor girl, I will ruin you" She promised herself
